Job 2 Again it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, that Satan came also among them to present himself before Jehovah.

1 H3117 Again it came to pass on the day H1121 when the sons H430 of God H935 came H3320 to present H3068 themselves before Jehovah, H7854 that Satan H935 came H8432 also among H3320 them to present H3068 himself before Jehovah.

2 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H7854 unto Satan, H335 From whence H935 comest H7854 thou? And Satan H6030 answered H3068 Jehovah, H6030 and said, H7751 From going to and fro H776 in the earth, H1980 and from walking up and down in it.

3 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H7854 unto Satan, H7760 Hast thou H3820 considered H5650 my servant H347 Job? H776 for there is none like him in the earth, H8535 a perfect H3477 and an upright H376 man, H3373 one that feareth H430 God, H5493 and turneth H7451 away from evil: H2388 and he still holdeth fast H8538 his integrity, H5496 although thou movedst H1104 me against him, to destroy H2600 him without cause.

4 H7854 And Satan H6030 answered H3068 Jehovah, H559 and said, H5785 Skin H5785 for skin, H376 yea, all that a man H5414 hath will he give H5315 for his life.

5 H199 But H7971 put forth H3027 thy hand H5060 now, and touch H6106 his bone H1320 and his flesh, H1288 and he will renounce H6440 thee to thy face.

6 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H7854 unto Satan, H3027 Behold, he is in thy hand; H8104 only spare H5315 his life.

7 H7854 So Satan H3318 went H3318 forth H6440 from the presence H3068 of Jehovah, H5221 and smote H347 Job H7451 with sore H7822 boils H3709 from the sole H7272 of his foot H6936 unto his crown.

8 H3947 And he took H2789 him a potsherd H1623 to scrape H3427 himself therewith; and he sat H8432 among H665 the ashes.

9 H559 Then said H802 his wife H2388 unto him, Dost thou still hold H8538 fast thine integrity? H1288 renounce H430 God, H4191 and die.

10 H559 But he said H1696 unto her, Thou speakest H259 as one H5036 of the foolish women H1696 speaketh. H1571 What? H6901 shall we receive H2896 good H430 at the hand of God, H6901 and shall we not receive H7451 evil? H347 In all this did not Job H2398 sin H8193 with his lips.

11 H347 Now when Job's H7969 three H7453 friends H8085 heard H7451 of all this evil H935 that was come H935 upon him, they came H376 every one H4725 from his own place: H464 Eliphaz H8489 the Temanite, H1085 and Bildad H7747 the Shuhite, H6691 and Zophar H5284 the Naamathite, H3259 and they made an appointment H3162 together H935 to come H5110 to bemoan H5162 him and to comfort him.

12 H5375 And when they lifted up H5869 their eyes H7350 afar off, H5234 and knew H5375 him not, they lifted up H6963 their voice, H1058 and wept; H7167 and they rent H376 every one H4598 his robe, H2236 and sprinkled H6083 dust H7218 upon their heads H8064 toward heaven.

13 H3427 So they sat down H776 with him upon the ground H7651 seven H3117 days H7651 and seven H3915 nights, H1696 and none spake H1697 a word H7200 unto him: for they saw H3511 that his grief H3966 was very H1431 great.
