Ruth 2

  1 H5281 And Naomi H4129 H3045 [H8675] had a kinsman H376 of her husband's, H1368 a mighty H376 man H2428 of wealth, H4940 of the family H458 of Elimelech; H8034 and his name H1162 was Boaz.

  2 H7327 And Ruth H4125 the Moabitess H559 [H8799] said H5281 to Naomi, H3212 [H8799] Let me now go H7704 to the field, H3950 [H8762] and glean H7641 ears of grain H310 after H5869 him in whose eyes H4672 [H8799] I shall find H2580 grace. H559 [H8799] And she said H3212 [H8798] to her, Go, H1323 my daughter.

  3 H3212 [H8799] And she went, H935 [H8799] and came, H3950 [H8762] and gleaned H7704 in the field H310 after H7114 [H8802] the reapers: H4745 and she happened H7136 [H8799] to come H2513 to a part H7704 of the field H1162 belonging to Boaz, H4940 who was of the kindred H458 of Elimelech.

  4 H1162 And, behold, Boaz H935 [H8802] came H1035 from Bethlehem, H559 [H8799] and said H7114 [H8802] to the reapers, H3068 The LORD H559 [H8799] be with you. And they answered H3068 him, The LORD H1288 [H8762] bless thee.

  5 H559 [H8799] Then said H1162 Boaz H5288 to his servant H5324 [H8737] that was set H7114 [H8802] over the reapers, H5291 Whose damsel is this?

  6 H5288 And the servant H5324 [H8737] that was set H7114 [H8802] over the reapers H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said, H4125 It is the Moabitish H5291 damsel H7725 [H8804] that came back H5281 with Naomi H7704 from the country H4124 of Moab:

  7 H559 [H8799] And she said, H3950 [H8762] I pray you, let me glean H622 [H8804] and gather H310 after H7114 [H8802] the reapers H6016 among the sheaves: H935 [H8799] so she came, H5975 [H8799] and hath continued H227 even H1242 from the morning H3427 [H8800] until now, that she tarried H4592 a little H1004 in the house.

  8 H559 [H8799] Then said H1162 Boaz H7327 to Ruth, H8085 [H8804] Hearest H1323 thou not, my daughter? H3212 [H8799] Go H3950 [H8800] not to glean H312 in another H7704 field, H5674 [H8799] neither go H1692 [H8799] from here, but cling H5291 here close by my damsels:

  9 H5869 Let thine eyes H7704 be on the field H7114 [H8799] that they are reaping, H1980 [H8804] and go H310 thou after H6680 [H8765] them: have I not charged H5288 the young men H5060 [H8800] that they shall not touch H6770 [H8804] thee? and when thou art thirsty, H1980 [H8804] go H3627 to the vessels, H8354 [H8804] and drink H5288 of that which the young men H7579 [H8799] have drawn.

  10 H5307 [H8799] Then she fell H6440 on her face, H7812 [H8691] and bowed H776 herself to the earth, H559 [H8799] and said H4672 [H8804] to him, Why have I found H2580 grace H5869 in thine eyes, H5234 [H8687] that thou shouldest take knowledge H5237 of me, seeing I am a foreigner?

  11 H1162 And Boaz H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said H5046 [H8715] to her, It hath fully H5046 [H8717] been shown H6213 [H8804] to me, all that thou hast done H2545 to thy mother in law H310 since H4194 the death H376 of thy husband: H5800 [H8799] and how thou hast left H1 thy father H517 and thy mother, H776 and the land H4138 of thy nativity, H3212 [H8799] and hast come H5971 to a people H3045 [H8804] which thou knewest H8543 H8032 not before.

  12 H3068 The LORD H7999 [H8762] recompense H6467 thy work, H8003 and a full H4909 reward H3068 be given thee of the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H3671 under whose wings H935 [H8804] thou hast come H2620 [H8800] to trust.

  13 H9001 Then H559 [H8799] she said, H4672 [H8799] Let me find H2580 favour H9003 in H9021 thy H5869 eyes, H9020 my H113 lord; H3588 for H5162 [H8765] that thou hast comforted H9030 me, H9002 and H3588 for H1696 [H8765] that thou hast spoken H5921 to H3820 the heart H9021 of thy H8198 handmaid, H9002 though H595 I H1961 am H3808 not H9004 like H259 one H9021 of thy H8198 handmaidens.

  14 H1162 And Boaz H559 [H8799] said H6256 H400 to her, At mealtime H5066 [H8798] come H1988 thou here, H398 [H8804] and eat H3899 of the bread, H2881 [H8804] and dip H6595 thy morsel H2558 in the vinegar. H3427 [H8799] And she sat H6654 beside H7114 [H8802] the reapers: H6642 [H8799] and he reached H7039 for her roasted H398 [H8799] grain, and she ate, H7646 [H8799] and was satisfied, H3498 [H8686] and left.

  15 H6965 [H8799] And when she had risen H3950 [H8763] to glean, H1162 Boaz H6680 [H8762] commanded H5288 his young men, H559 [H8800] saying, H3950 [H8762] Let her glean H6016 even among the sheaves, H3637 [H8686] and wound her not:

  16 H7997 [H8799] And let fall H6653 also some of the handfuls H7997 [H8800] of purpose H5800 [H8804] for her, and leave H3950 [H8765] them, that she may glean H1605 [H8799] them, and chide her not.

  17 H3950 [H8762] So she gleaned H7704 in the field H6153 until evening, H2251 [H8799] and beat out H3950 [H8765] that which she had gleaned: H374 and it was about an ephah H8184 of barley.

  18 H5375 [H8799] And she took it up, H935 [H8799] and went H5892 into the city: H2545 and her mother in law H7200 [H8799] saw H3950 [H8765] what she had gleaned: H3318 [H8686] and she brought out, H5414 [H8799] and gave H3498 [H8689] to her what she had reserved H7648 after she was satisfied.

  19 H2545 And her mother in law H559 [H8799] said H3950 [H8765] to her, Where hast thou gleaned H3117 to day? H375 and where H6213 [H8804] hast thou laboured? H1288 [H8803] blessed H5234 [H8688] be he that took knowledge H5046 [H8686] of thee. And she showed H2545 her mother in law H6213 [H8804] with whom she had wrought, H559 [H8799] and said, H376 The man's H8034 name H6213 [H8804] with whom I wrought H3117 to day H1162 is Boaz.

  20 H5281 And Naomi H559 [H8799] said H3618 to her daughter in law, H1288 [H8803] Blessed H3068 be he of the LORD, H5800 [H8804] who hath not withheld H2617 his mercy H2416 to the living H4191 [H8801] and to the dead. H5281 And Naomi H559 [H8799] said H376 to her, The man H7138 is near of kin H1350 [H8802] to us, one of our next kinsmen.

  21 H7327 And Ruth H4125 the Moabitess H559 [H8799] said, H559 [H8804] He said H1692 [H8799] to me also, Thou shalt keep close H5288 by my young men, H3615 [H8765] until they have ended H7105 all my harvest.

  22 H5281 And Naomi H559 [H8799] said H7327 to Ruth H3618 her daughter in law, H2896 It is good, H1323 my daughter, H3318 [H8799] that thou shouldest go out H5291 with his damsels, H6293 [H8799] that they meet H312 thee not in any other H7704 field.

  23 H1692 [H8799] So she kept close H5291 by the damsels H1162 of Boaz H3950 [H8763] to glean H3615 [H8800] to the end H8184 of barley H7105 harvest H2406 and of wheat H7105 harvest; H3427 [H8799] and dwelt H2545 with her mother in law.
