Tobit 11
Clementine_Vulgate(i)
1 Cumque reverterentur, pervenerunt ad Charan, quæ est in medio itinere contra Niniven, undecimo die.
2 Dixitque angelus: Tobia frater, scis quemadmodum reliquisti patrem tuum.
17 Dicebatque Tobias: Benedico te, Domine Deus Israël, quia tu castigasti me, et tu salvasti me: et ecce ego video Tobiam filium meum.

10 Tobit also went forth toward the doore, and stumbled, but his sonne ranne vnto him.
11 And tooke hold of his father and sprinkled of the gall on his fathers eyes, saying, Bee of good hope, my father.
12 And when his eyes began to pricke, he rubbed them.
13 And the whitenes pilled away from the corners of his eyes, and when he sawe his sonne, he fell vpon his necke,
14 And hee wept and sayde, Blessed art thou, O Lorde, and blessed be thy Name for euer, and blessed be all thine holy Angels.
15 For thou hast scourged me, and hast had pitie on me: for beholde, I see my sonne Tobias: and his sonne, being glad went in, and tolde his father the great things that had come to passe in Media.
16 Then Tobit went out to meete his daughter in lawe, reioycing and praysing God to the gate of Nineue and they which saw him go, marueiled, because he had receiued his sight.
17 But Tobit testified before the al, that God had had pitie on him; when he came neere to Sarra his daughter in lawe, he blessed her, saying, Thou art welcome, daughter: God be blessed, which hath brought thee vnto vs, and blessed be thy father: and there was great ioy among all his brethren which were at Nineue.
18 And Achiacharus and Nasbas his brothers sonne came.

6 And whyle she was wayting there for his comming, she loked a farre of, and anone she perceaued her sonne comming, and ranne and tolde her husband, saying: beholde thy sonne commeth.

8 And straight wayes strike his eyes ouer with the gall of the fishe that thou hast brought with thee: For be sure that his eyes shall straight way be opened, and thy father shall see the light of heauen, and shal reioyce at the sight of thee.
9 Then the dogge that had ben with them in their iourney, ranne before, and came as a messenger, and wagged his tayle for gladnesse.
10 So the blynde father arose, and began to runne, and stumbled with his feete: and gaue a seruaunt his hand, & ranne to meete his sonne,

1 And as they were returning they came to Charan, which is in the midway to Ninive, the eleventh day.
2 And the angel said: Brother Tobias, thou knowest how thou didst leave thy father.
3 If it please thee therefore, let us go before, and let the family follow softly after us, together with thy wife, and with the beasts.
4 And as this their going pleased him, Raphael said to Tobias: Take with thee of the gall of the fish, for it will be necessary. So Tobias took some of that gall and departed.
5 But Anna sat beside the way daily, on the top of a hill, from whence she might see afar off.
6 And while she watched his coming from that place, she saw him afar off, and presently perceived it was her son coming: and returning she told her husband, saying: Behold thy son cometh.
7 And Raphael said to Tobias: As soon as thou shalt come into thy house, forthwith adore the Lord thy God: and giving thanks to him, go to thy father, and kiss him.
8 And immediately anoint his eyes with this gall of the fish, which thou carriest with thee. For be assured that his eyes shall be presently opened, and thy father shall see the light of heaven, and shall rejoice in the sight of thee.
9 Then the dog, which had been with them in the way, ran before, and coming as if he had brought the news, shewed his joy by his fawning and wagging his tail.
10 And his father that was blind, rising up, began to run stumbling with his feet: and giving a servant his hand, went to meet his son.
11 And receiving him kissed him, as did also his wife, and they began to weep for joy.
12 And when they had adored God, and given him thanks, they sat down together.
13 Then Tobias taking of the gall of the fish, anointed his father's eyes.
14 And he stayed about half an hour: and a white skin began to come out of his eyes, like the skin of an egg.
15 And Tobias took hold of it, and drew it from his eyes, and immediately he recovered his sight.
16 And they glorified God, both he and his wife and all that knew them.
17 And Tobias said: I bless thee, O Lord God of Israel, because thou hast chastised me, and thou hast saved me: and behold I see Tobias my son.
18 And after seven days Sara his son's wife, and all the family arrived safe, and the cattle, and the camels, and an abundance of money of his wife's: and that money also which he had received of Gabelus:
19 And he told his parents all the benefits of God, which he had done to him by the man that conducted him.
20 And Achior and Nabath the kinsmen of Tobias came, rejoicing for Tobias, and congratulating with him for all the good things that God had done for him.
21 And for seven days they feasted and rejoiced all with great joy.

1 After these things Tobias also went his way, blessing God because he had prospered his journey; and he blessed Raguel and Edna his wife. And he went on his way till they drew near unto Nineveh.
2 And Raphael said to Tobias, Knowest thou not, brother, how thou didst leave thy father?
3 Let us run forward before thy wife, and prepare the house.
4 But take in thy hand the gall of the fish. And they went their way, and the dog went after them.
5 And Anna sat looking about toward the way for her son.
6 And she espied him coming, and said to his father, Behold, thy son cometh, and the man that went with him.
7 And Raphael said, I know, Tobias, that thy father will open his eyes.
8 Do thou therefore anoint his eyes with the gall, and being pricked therewith, he shall rub, and shall make the white films to fall away, and he shall see thee.
9 And Anna ran unto him, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said unto him, I have seen thee, my child; from henceforth I will die. And they wept both.
10 And Tobit went forth toward the door, and stumbled: but his son ran unto him,
11 and took hold of his father: and he strake the gall on his father’s eyes, saying, Be of good cheer, my father.
12 But when his eyes began to smart, he rubbed them;
13 and the white films scaled away from the corners of his eyes; and he saw his son, and fell upon his neck.
14 And he wept, and said, Blessed art thou, O God, and blessed is thy name for ever, and blessed are all thy holy angels;
15 for thou didst scourge, and didst have mercy on me: behold, I see my son Tobias. And his son went in rejoicing, and told his father the great things that had happened to him in Media.
16 And Tobit went out to meet his daughter in law at the gate of Nineveh, rejoicing, and blessing God: and they which saw him go marvelled, because he had received his sight.
17 And Tobit gave thanks before them, because God had shewed mercy on him. And when Tobit came near to Sarah his daughter in law, he blessed her, saying, Welcome, daughter: blessed is God which hath brought thee unto us, and [blessed are] thy father and thy mother. And there was joy to all his brethren which were at Nineveh.
18 And Achiacharus, and Nasbas his brother’s son, came:
19 and Tobias’ wedding feast was kept seven days with great gladness.

1 After these things Tobias also went his way, blessing God because he had prospered his journey; and he blessed Raguel and Edna his wife. Then he went on his way until they drew near to Nineveh.
2 Raphael said to Tobias, “Don’t you know, brother, how you left your father?
3 Let’s run forward before your wife, and prepare the house.
4 But take in your hand the bile of the fish.” So they went their way, and the dog went after them.
5 Anna sat looking around toward the path for her son.
6 She saw him coming, and said to his father, “Behold, your son is coming with the man that went with him!”
7 Raphael said, “I know, Tobias, that your father will open his eyes.
8 Therefore anoint his eyes with the bile, and being pricked with it, he will rub, and will make the white films fall away. Then he will see you.”
9 Anna ran to him, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said to him, “I have seen you, my child! I am ready to die.” They wept both.
10 Tobit went toward the door and stumbled; but his son ran to him,
11 and took hold of his father. He rubbed the bile on his father’s eyes, saying, “Cheer up, my father.”
12 When his eyes began to hurt, he rubbed them.
13 Then the white films peeled away from the corners of his eyes; and he saw his son, and fell upon his neck.
14 He wept, and said, “Blessed are you, O God, and blessed is your name forever! Blessed are all your holy angels!
15 For you scourged, and had mercy on me. Behold, I see my son Tobias.” And his son went in rejoicing, and told his father the great things that had happened to him in Media.
16 Tobit went out to meet his daughter-in-law at the gate of Nineveh, rejoicing, and blessing God. Those who saw him go marveled, because he had received his sight.
17 Tobit gave thanks before them, because God had shown mercy on him. When Tobit came near to Sarah his daughter-in-law, he blessed her, saying, “Welcome, daughter! Blessed is God who has brought you to us, and blessed are your father and your mother.” And there was joy among all his kindred who were at Nineveh.
18 Achiacharus and Nasbas his brother’s son came.
19 Tobias’ wedding feast was kept seven days with great gladness.
LXX2012(i)
1 After these things Tobias went his way, praising God that he had given him a prosperous journey, and blessed Raguel and Edna his wife, and went on his way till they drew near to Nineve.
2 Then Raphael said to Tobias, You know, brother, how you did leave your father:

8 Therefore anoint you his eyes with the gall, and being pricked therewith, he shall rub, and the whiteness shall fall away, and he shall see you.
9 Then Anna ran forth, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said to him, Seeing I have seen you, my son, from henceforth I am content to die. And they wept both.
10 Tobit also went forth toward the door, and stumbled: but his son ran to him,
11 And took hold of his father: and he struck of the gall on his fathers' eyes, saying, Be of good hope, my father.
12 And when his eyes began to hurt, he rubbed them;
13 And the whiteness pilled away from the corners of his eyes: and when he saw his son, he fell upon his neck.
14 And he wept, and said, Blessed are you, O God, and blessed is your name for ever; and blessed are all your holy angels:

17 But Tobias gave thanks before them, because God had mercy on him.
