54 G1161 Now when G1543 the centurion, G2532 and G3588 they that were G3326 with G846 him, G5083 watching G2424 Jesus, G1492 saw G4578 the earthquake, G2532 and G1096 those things that were done, G5399 they feared G4970 greatly, G3004 saying, G230 Truly G3778 this G2258 was G5207 the Son G2316 of God.
  55 G1161 And G4183 many G1135 women G2258 were G1563 there G2334 beholding G3113 afar G575 off, G3748 which G190 followed G2424 Jesus G575 from G1056 Galilee, G1247 ministering G846 to him:
  56 G1722 Among G3739 which G2258 was G3137 Mary G3094 Magdalene, G2532 and G3137 Mary G3384 the mother G2385 of James G2532 and G2499 Joseph, G2532 and G3384 the mother G2199 of Zebedee's G5207 sons.
RYLT(i) 50 And Jesus having again cried with a great voice, yielded the spirit; 51 and lo, the vail of the sanctuary was rent in two from top unto bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks were rent, 52 and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who have fallen asleep, arose, 53 and having come forth out of the tombs after his rising, they went into the holy city, and appeared to many. 54 And the centurion, and those with him watching Jesus, having seen the earthquake, and the things that were done, were exceedingly afraid, saying, 'Truly this was God's Son.' 55 And there were there many women beholding from afar, who did follow Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him, 56 among whom was Mary the Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and of Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
EJ2000(i) 50 ¶ But Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, gave the spirit. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who slept arose 53 and came out of the graves after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion and those that were with him, guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was God’s Son. 55 And many women were there beholding afar off, who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him; 56 among whom was Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joses and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
CAB(i) 50 But Jesus, again crying out with a loud voice, released His spirit. 51 And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split, 52 and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had passed away were raised; 53 and coming forth out of the tombs after His resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many. 54 So when the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were greatly afraid, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!" 55 And there were many women there observing from a distance, who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, 56 among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
WPNT(i) 50 Then Jesus called out again with a great shout and dismissed His spirit. 51 And then, the veil of the temple was ripped in two from top to bottom! And the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened. (And many bodies, of the saints who had fallen asleep, were raised; 53 and coming forth out of the graves after His resurrection they entered the holy city and were made visible to many.) 54 Now when the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that happened they were scared stiff and said, “This Man really was the Son of God!” 55 Many women who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from a distance; 56 among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
JMNT(i) 50 Now Jesus, again at one point loudly crying out with a loud (or: great) voice (or: sound), dismissed the Spirit (or: lets the breath-effect flow away; divorced [His] spirit; lets [His] breath go; abandoned the Spirit; or: set aside and rejected this attitude). 51 And then – look and consider! – the curtain of the inner sanctuary of the Temple [which veiled the holy of holies] was torn and split from above unto below (= from top to bottom): into two – and the ground was caused to shake (or: the earth quaked) and rock masses were split. 52 Later, the memorial tombs were opened up, and many of the bodies of the set-apart (holy; sacred) people – of the folks who had fallen asleep and continued sleeping – were aroused and raised up! 53 Then, upon going forth out of the memorial tombs – after His arousal and resurrection – they entered into the set-apart (holy) city and they were made visible in the midst of many people (or: were made to inwardly shine to many folks; or: were made to appear in association with many). 54 Now the centurion (a Roman commander who normally is in charge of one hundred soldiers) and those with him [who were] guarding and watching over Jesus, upon seeing the shaking (= earthquake) and the things occurring (happening; being birthed), were made extremely afraid, one to another saying, "Truly (or: Really; Certainly) this man was God's son." 55 But in addition, many women were there, continuing in viewing and watching from a distance – those who followed Jesus from the Galilee [district], constantly giving attending service to, and materially providing for, Him – 56 among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Jacob (or: James) and Joseph [other MSS: Joses] as well as the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
NSB(i) 50 Jesus cried again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. 51 The veil (curtain) of the temple was ripped in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks split. 52 The tombs were split open and many [dead] bodies were tossed upright [on the ground]. 53 [They came out of the tombs after his resurrection.] (Manuscript text unclear.) Many people saw them. 54 The centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake. Filled with much fear of the things that were done, they proclaimed: »Truly, this was the Son of God!« 55 The women who followed Jesus from Galilee and ministered to him watched from a distance. 56 Included among the women were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
ISV(i) 50 Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice again and died. 51 Suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom, the earth shook, rocks were split open, 52 tombs were opened, and many saints who had died were brought back to life. 53 After his resurrection, they came out of their tombs, went into the Holy City, and appeared to many people.
54 When the centurion and those guarding Jesus with him saw the earthquake and the other things that were taking place, they were terrified and said, “This man certainly was the Son of God!”
55 Now many women were also there, watching from a distance. They had accompanied Jesus from Galilee and had ministered to him. 56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
