KJV_Strongs(i)
H5971 Then all the people H3063 of Judah H3947 took [H8799]   H5818 Uzziah H8337 , who was sixteen H6240   H8141 years H1121 old H4427 , and made him king [H8686]   H1 in the room of his father H558 Amaziah.
H1129 He built [H8804]   H359 Eloth H7725 , and restored [H8686]   H3063 it to Judah H310 , after H4428 that the king H7901 slept [H8800]   H1 with his fathers.
H8337 Sixteen H6240   H8141 years H1121 old H5818 was Uzziah H4427 when he began to reign [H8800]   H4427 , and he reigned [H8804]   H2572 fifty H8147 and two H8141 years H3389 in Jerusalem H517 . His mother's H8034 name H3203 also was Jecoliah H3389 of Jerusalem.
H6213 And he did [H8799]   H3477 that which was right H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD H1 , according to all that his father H558 Amaziah H6213 did [H8804]  .
H1875 And he sought [H8800]   H430 God H3117 in the days H2148 of Zechariah H995 , who had understanding [H8688]   H7200 in the visions [H8800]   H430 of God H3117 : and as long as H1875 he sought [H8800]   H3068 the LORD H430 , God H6743 made him to prosper [H8689]  .
H3318 And he went forth [H8799]   H3898 and warred [H8735]   H6430 against the Philistines H6555 , and brake down [H8799]   H2346 the wall H1661 of Gath H2346 , and the wall H2996 of Jabneh H2346 , and the wall H795 of Ashdod H1129 , and built [H8799]   H5892 cities H795 about Ashdod H6430 , and among the Philistines.
H430 And God H5826 helped [H8799]   H6430 him against the Philistines H6163 , and against the Arabians H3427 that dwelt [H8802]   H1485 in Gurbaal H4586 , and the Mehunims.
H5984 And the Ammonites H5414 gave [H8799]   H4503 gifts H5818 to Uzziah H8034 : and his name H3212 spread abroad [H8799]   H935 even to the entering [H8800]   H4714 in of Egypt H2388 ; for he strengthened [H8689]   H4605 himself exceedingly.
H5818 Moreover Uzziah H1129 built [H8799]   H4026 towers H3389 in Jerusalem H6438 at the corner H8179 gate H1516 , and at the valley H8179 gate H4740 , and at the turning H2388 of the wall, and fortified [H8762]   them.
H1129 Also he built [H8799]   H4026 towers H4057 in the desert H2672 , and digged [H8799]   H7227 many H953 wells H7227 : for he had much H4735 cattle H8219 , both in the low country H4334 , and in the plains H406 : husbandmen H3755 also, and vine dressers H2022 in the mountains H3760 , and in Carmel H157 : for he loved [H8802]   H127 husbandry.
H5818 Moreover Uzziah H2428 had an host H4421 of fighting H6213 men [H8802]   H3318 , that went out [H8802]   H6635 to war H1416 by bands H4557 , according to the number H6486 of their account H3027 by the hand H3273 of Jeiel H5608 the scribe [H8802]   H4641 and Maaseiah H7860 the ruler [H8802]   H3027 , under the hand H2608 of Hananiah H4428 , one of the king's H8269 captains.
H4557 The whole number H7218 of the chief H1 of the fathers H1368 of the mighty men H2428 of valour H505 were two thousand H8337 and six H3967 hundred.
H3027 And under their hand H2428 was an army H6635   H7969 , three H3967 hundred H505 thousand H7651 and seven H505 thousand H2568 and five H3967 hundred H6213 , that made [H8802]   H4421 war H2428 with mighty H3581 power H5826 , to help [H8800]   H4428 the king H341 against the enemy [H8802]  .
H5818 And Uzziah H3559 prepared [H8686]   H6635 for them throughout all the host H4043 shields H7420 , and spears H3553 , and helmets H8302 , and habergeons H7198 , and bows H7050 , and slings H68 to cast stones.
H6213 And he made [H8799]   H3389 in Jerusalem H2810 engines H4284 , invented H2803 by cunning men [H8802]   H4026 , to be on the towers H6438 and upon the bulwarks H3384 , to shoot [H8800]   H2671 arrows H1419 and great H68 stones H8034 withal. And his name H3318 spread [H8799]   H7350 far abroad H6381 ; for he was marvellously [H8689]   H5826 helped [H8736]   H3588 , till H2388 he was strong [H8804]  .
H2393 But when he was strong H3820 , his heart H1361 was lifted up [H8804]   H7843 to his destruction [H8687]   H4603 : for he transgressed [H8799]   H3068 against the LORD H430 his God H935 , and went [H8799]   H1964 into the temple H3068 of the LORD H6999 to burn incense [H8687]   H4196 upon the altar H7004 of incense.
H5838 And Azariah H3548 the priest H935 went in [H8799]   H310 after H8084 him, and with him fourscore H3548 priests H3068 of the LORD H2428 , that were valiant H1121 men:
H5975 And they withstood [H8799]   H5818 Uzziah H4428 the king H559 , and said [H8799]   H5818 unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah H6999 , to burn incense [H8687]   H3068 unto the LORD H3548 , but to the priests H1121 the sons H175 of Aaron H6942 , that are consecrated [H8794]   H6999 to burn incense [H8687]   H3318 : go out [H8798]   H4720 of the sanctuary H4603 ; for thou hast trespassed [H8804]   H3519 ; neither shall it be for thine honour H3068 from the LORD H430 God.
H5818 Then Uzziah H2196 was wroth [H8799]   H4730 , and had a censer H3027 in his hand H6999 to burn incense [H8687]   H2196 : and while he was wroth [H8800]   H3548 with the priests H6883 , the leprosy H2224 even rose up [H8804]   H4696 in his forehead H6440 before H3548 the priests H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD H7004 , from beside the incense H4196 altar.
H5838 And Azariah H7218 the chief H3548 priest H3548 , and all the priests H6437 , looked [H8799]   H6879 upon him, and, behold, he was leprous [H8794]   H4696 in his forehead H926 , and they thrust him out [H8686]   H1765 from thence; yea, himself hasted [H8738]   H3318 also to go out [H8800]   H3068 , because the LORD H5060 had smitten [H8765]   him.
H5818 And Uzziah H4428 the king H6879 was a leper [H8794]   H3117 unto the day H4194 of his death H3427 , and dwelt in [H8799]   H2669 a several [H8675]   H2669   H1004 house H6879 , being a leper [H8794]   H1504 ; for he was cut off [H8738]   H1004 from the house H3068 of the LORD H3147 : and Jotham H1121 his son H4428 was over the king's H1004 house H8199 , judging [H8802]   H5971 the people H776 of the land.
H3499 Now the rest H1697 of the acts H5818 of Uzziah H7223 , first H314 and last H3470 , did Isaiah H5030 the prophet H1121 , the son H531 of Amoz H3789 , write [H8804]  .
H5818 So Uzziah H7901 slept [H8799]   H1 with his fathers H6912 , and they buried [H8799]   H1 him with his fathers H7704 in the field H6900 of the burial H4428 which belonged to the kings H559 ; for they said [H8804]   H6879 , He is a leper [H8794]   H3147 : and Jotham H1121 his son H4427 reigned [H8799]   in his stead.
KJV(i) 1 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah. 2 He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers. 3 Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. 4 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did. 5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper. 6 And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines. 7 And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims. 8 And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly. 9 Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them. 10 Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry. 11 Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains. 12 The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valor were two thousand and six hundred. 13 And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy. 14 And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones. 15 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense. 17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men: 18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honor from the LORD God. 19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar. 20 And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him. 21 And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land. 22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write. 23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
