1 Samuel 10 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD has anointed you to be captain over his inheritance?

2 H3212 When you are departed H3117 from me to day, H4672 then you shall find H8147 two H582 men H7354 by Rachel’s H6900 sepulcher H1366 in the border H1144 of Benjamin H6766 at Zelzah; H559 and they will say H860 to you, The asses H834 which H1980 you went H1245 to seek H4672 are found: H2009 and, see, H1 your father H5203 has left H1697 the care H860 of the asses, H1672 and sorrows H559 for you, saying, H4100 What H6213 shall I do H1121 for my son?

3 H2498 Then shall you go H1973 on forward H8033 from there, H935 and you shall come H436 to the plain H8396 of Tabor, H4672 and there shall meet H7969 you three H582 men H5927 going H430 up to God H1008 to Bethel, H259 one H5375 carrying H7969 three H1423 kids, H259 and another H5375 carrying H7969 three H3603 loaves H3899 of bread, H259 and another H5375 carrying H5035 a bottle H3196 of wine:

4 H7965 And they will salute H5414 you, and give H8147 you two H3899 loaves of bread; H3947 which you shall receive H3027 of their hands.

5 H310 After H935 that you shall come H1389 to the hill H430 of God, H834 where H8033 H5333 is the garrison H6430 of the Philistines: H1961 and it shall come H935 to pass, when you are come H8033 thither H5892 to the city, H6293 that you shall meet H2256 a company H5030 of prophets H3381 coming H3381 down H1116 from the high H5035 place with a psaltery, H8596 and a tabret, H2485 and a pipe, H3658 and a harp, H6440 before H5012 them; and they shall prophesy:

6 H7307 And the Spirit H3068 of the LORD H6743 will come H5012 on you, and you shall prophesy H2015 with them, and shall be turned H312 into another H376 man.

7 H3588 And let it be, when H428 these H226 signs H935 are come H6213 to you, that you do H4672 as occasion H5647 serve H430 you; for God is with you.

9 H6437 And it was so, that when he had turned H7926 his back H3212 to go H8050 from Samuel, H430 God H312 gave him another H3820 heart: H3605 and all H428 those H226 signs H935 came H3117 to pass that day.

10 H935 And when they came H8033 thither H1389 to the hill, H2009 behold, H2256 a company H5030 of prophets H7125 met H7307 him; and the Spirit H430 of God H6743 came H5012 on him, and he prophesied H8432 among them.

11 H1961 And it came H3605 to pass, when all H3045 that knew H865 him beforetime H8032 H7200 saw H2009 that, behold, H5012 he prophesied H5973 among H5030 the prophets, H5971 then the people H559 said H376 one H7453 to another, H4100 What H2088 is this H1961 that is come H1121 to the son H7027 of Kish? H7586 Is Saul H1571 also H5030 among the prophets?

12 H376 And one H6030 of the same place answered H559 and said, H4310 But who H1 is their father? H5921 Therefore H3651 H1961 it became H4912 a proverb, H7586 Is Saul H1571 also H5030 among the prophets?

13 H3615 And when he had made an end H5012 of prophesying, H935 he came H1116 to the high place.

14 H7586 And Saul’s H1730 uncle H559 said H5288 to him and to his servant, H575 Where H1980 went H559 you? And he said, H1245 To seek H860 the asses: H7200 and when we saw H369 that they were no H370 where, H935 we came H8050 to Samuel.

15 H7586 And Saul’s H1730 uncle H559 said, H5046 Tell H4994 me, I pray H4100 you, what H8050 Samuel H559 said to you.

16 H7586 And Saul H559 said H1730 to his uncle, H5046 He told H5046 us plainly H860 that the asses H4672 were found. H1697 But of the matter H4410 of the kingdom, H834 whereof H8050 Samuel H559 spoke, H5046 he told him not.

17 H8050 And Samuel H6817 called H5971 the people H3068 together to the LORD H4709 to Mizpeh;

18 H559 And said H1121 to the children H3478 of Israel, H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H5927 I brought H3478 up Israel H4714 out of Egypt, H5337 and delivered H3027 you out of the hand H4714 of the Egyptians, H3027 and out of the hand H3605 of all H4467 kingdoms, H3905 and of them that oppressed you:

19 H3117 And you have this day H3988 rejected H430 your God, H834 who H3467 himself saved H3605 you out of all H7451 your adversities H6869 and your tribulations; H559 and you have said H7760 to him, No, but set H4428 a king H5921 over H6258 us. Now H3320 therefore present H6440 yourselves before H3068 the LORD H7626 by your tribes, H505 and by your thousands.

20 H8050 And when Samuel H3605 had caused all H7626 the tribes H3478 of Israel H7126 to come H7126 near, H7626 the tribe H1144 of Benjamin H3920 was taken.

21 H7626 When he had caused the tribe H1144 of Benjamin H7126 to come H7126 near H4940 by their families, H4940 the family H4309 of Matri H3920 was taken, H7586 and Saul H1121 the son H7027 of Kish H3920 was taken: H1245 and when they sought H4672 him, he could not be found.

22 H7592 Therefore they inquired H3068 of the LORD H5750 further, H376 if the man H5750 should yet H935 come H1988 thither. H3068 And the LORD H559 answered, H2009 Behold H2244 he has hid H1931 himself H413 among H3627 the stuff.

23 H7323 And they ran H3947 and fetched H8033 him there: H3320 and when he stood H8432 among H5971 the people, H1361 he was higher H3605 than any H5971 of the people H7926 from his shoulders H4605 and upward.

24 H8050 And Samuel H559 said H3605 to all H5971 the people, H7200 See H834 you him whom H3068 the LORD H977 has chosen, H369 that there is none H3644 like H3605 him among all H5971 the people? H3605 And all H5971 the people H7321 shouted, H559 and said, H2421 God save H4428 the king.

25 H8050 Then Samuel H1696 told H5971 the people H4941 the manner H4410 of the kingdom, H3789 and wrote H5612 it in a book, H3240 and laid H6440 it up before H3068 the LORD. H8050 And Samuel H7971 sent H3605 all H5971 the people H376 away, every man H1004 to his house.

26 H7586 And Saul H1571 also H1980 went H1004 home H1390 to Gibeah; H3212 and there went H2428 with him a band H834 of men, whose H3820 hearts H430 God H5060 had touched.

27 H1121 But the children H1100 of Belial H559 said, H4100 How H2088 shall this H3467 man save H959 us? And they despised H935 him, and brought H3808 no H4503 presents. H2790 But he held H2790 his peace.
