  1 H3503 When Jethro, H3548 the priest H4080 of Midian, H4872 Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law, H8085 [H8799] heard H430 of all that God H6213 [H8804] had done H4872 for Moses, H3478 and for Israel H5971 his people, H3068 and that the LORD H3318 [H8689] had brought H3478 Israel H4714 out of Egypt;
  2 H3503 Then Jethro, H4872 Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law, H3947 [H8799] took H6855 Zipporah, H4872 Moses' H802 wife, H310 after H7964 he had sent her back,
  3 H8147 And her two H1121 sons; H8034 of which the name H259 of the one H1647 was Gershom; H559 [H8804] for he said, H1616 I have been an guest H5237 in a foreign H776 land:
  4 H8034 And the name H259 of the other H461 was Eliezer; H430 for the God H1 of my father, H5828 said he, was my help, H5337 [H8686] and delivered H2719 me from the sword H6547 of Pharaoh:
  5 H3503 And Jethro, H4872 Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law, H935 [H8799] came H1121 with his sons H802 and his wife H4872 to Moses H4057 into the wilderness, H2583 [H8802] where he encamped H2022 at the mount H430 of God:
  6 H559 [H8799] And he said H4872 to Moses, H2859 [H8802] I thy father in law H3503 Jethro H935 [H8802] have come H802 to thee, and thy wife, H8147 and her two H1121 sons with her.
  7 H4872 And Moses H3318 [H8799] went out H7125 [H8800] to meet H2859 [H8802] his father in law, H7812 [H8691] and bowed down, H5401 [H8799] and kissed H7592 [H8799] him; and they asked H376 each H7453 other H7965 of their welfare; H935 [H8799] and they came H168 into the tent.
  8 H4872 And Moses H5608 [H8762] told H2859 [H8802] his father in law H3068 all that the LORD H6213 [H8804] had done H6547 to Pharaoh H4714 and to the Egyptians H3478 for Israel's H182 sake, H8513 and all the travail H4672 [H8804] that had come H1870 upon them by the way, H3068 and how the LORD H5337 [H8686] delivered them.
  9 H3503 And Jethro H2302 [H8799] rejoiced H2896 for all the goodness H3068 which the LORD H6213 [H8804] had done H3478 to Israel, H5337 [H8689] whom he had delivered H3027 out of the hand H4714 of the Egyptians.
  10 H3503 And Jethro H559 [H8799] said, H1288 [H8803] Blessed H3068 be the LORD, H5337 [H8689] who hath delivered H3027 you out of the hand H4714 of the Egyptians, H3027 and out of the hand H6547 of Pharaoh, H5337 [H8689] who hath delivered H5971 the people H3027 from under the hand H4714 of the Egyptians.
  11 H3045 [H8804] Now I know H3068 that the LORD H1419 is greater H430 than all gods: H1697 for in the thing H2102 [H8804] in which they dealt proudly he was above them.
  12 H3503 And Jethro, H4872 Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law, H3947 [H8799] took H5930 a burnt offering H2077 and sacrifices H430 for God: H175 and Aaron H935 [H8799] came, H2205 and all the elders H3478 of Israel, H398 [H8800] to eat H3899 bread H4872 with Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law H6440 at the face of H430 God.
  13 H4283 And it came to pass on the next day, H4872 that Moses H3427 [H8799] sat H8199 [H8800] to judge H5971 the people: H5971 and the people H5975 [H8799] stood H4872 by Moses H1242 from the morning H6153 to the evening.
  14 H4872 And when Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law H7200 [H8799] saw H6213 [H8802] all that he did H5971 to the people, H559 [H8799] he said, H1697 What is this thing H6213 [H8802] that thou doest H5971 to the people? H3427 [H8802] why sittest H5971 thou thyself alone, and all the people H5324 [H8737] stand H1242 by thee from morning H6153 to evening?
  15 H4872 And Moses H559 [H8799] said H2859 [H8802] to his father in law, H5971 Because the people H935 [H8799] come H1875 [H8800] to me to enquire H430 of God:
  16 H1697 When they have a matter, H935 [H8802] they come H8199 [H8804] to me; and I judge H376 between one H7453 and another, H3045 [H8689] and I make them know H2706 the statutes H430 of God, H8451 and his laws.
  17 H4872 And Moses' H2859 [H8802] father in law H559 [H8799] said H1697 to him, The thing H6213 [H8802] that thou doest H2896 is not good.
  18 H5034 [H8800] Thou wilt surely H5034 [H8799] wear away, H5971 both thou, and this people H1697 that is with thee: for this thing H3515 is too heavy H3201 [H8799] for thee; thou art not able H6213 [H8800] to perform it thyself alone.
  19 H8085 [H8798] Hearken H6963 now to my voice, H3289 [H8799] I will give thee counsel, H430 and God H1961 [H8798] shall be H5971 with thee: Be thou for the people H4136 H430 toward God, H935 [H8689] that thou mayest bring H1697 the causes H430 to God:
  20 H2094 H853 [H8689] And thou shalt teach H2706 them statutes H8451 and laws, H3045 [H8689] and shalt show H1870 them the way H3212 [H8799] in which they must walk, H4639 and the work H6213 [H8799] that they must do.
  21 H2372 [H8799] Moreover thou shalt envision H5971 out of all the people H2428 able H582 men, H3373 such as fear H430 God, H582 men H571 of truth, H8130 [H8802] hating H1215 covetousness; H7760 [H8804] and place H8269 such over them, to be rulers H505 of thousands, H8269 and rulers H3967 of hundreds, H8269 rulers H2572 of fifties, H8269 and rulers H6235 of tens:
  22 H8199 [H8804] And let them judge H5971 the people H6256 at all times: H1419 and it shall be, that every great H1697 matter H935 [H8686] they shall bring H6996 to thee, but every small H1697 matter H8199 [H8799] they shall judge: H7043 [H8685] so shall it be easier H5375 [H8804] for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
  23 H6213 [H8799] If thou shalt do H1697 this thing, H430 and God H6680 [H8765] command H3201 [H8804] thee so, then thou shalt be able H5975 [H8800] to endure, H5971 and all this people H935 [H8799] shall also go H4725 to their place H7965 in peace.
  24 H4872 So Moses H8085 [H8799] hearkened H6963 to the voice H2859 [H8802] of his father in law, H6213 [H8799] and did H559 [H8804] all that he had said.
  25 H4872 And Moses H977 [H8799] chose H2428 able H582 men H3478 out of all Israel, H5414 [H8799] and made H7218 them heads H5971 over the people, H8269 rulers H505 of thousands, H8269 rulers H3967 of hundreds, H8269 rulers H2572 of fifties, H8269 and rulers H6235 of tens.
  26 H8199 [H8804] And they judged H5971 the people H6256 at all times: H7186 the hard H1697 causes H935 [H8686] they brought H4872 to Moses, H6996 but every small H1697 H1992 matter H8199 [H8799] they judged themselves.
  27 H4872 And Moses H2859 [H8802] let his father in law H7971 [H8762] depart; H3212 [H8799] and he went H776 his way into his own land.
