1 Kings 1:39-2:4 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tent, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the shofar; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

40 H5971 And all the people H5927 [H8799] came up H310 after H5971 him, and the people H2490 [H8764] piped H2485 with pipes, H8056 and rejoiced H1419 with great H8057 joy, H776 so that the earth H1234 [H8735] shook H6963 with the sound of them.

41 H138 And Adonijah H7121 [H8803] and all the guests H8085 [H8799] that were with him heard H3615 [H8765] it as they had finished H398 [H8800] eating. H3097 And when Joab H8085 [H8799] heard H6963 the sound H7782 of the shofar, H559 [H8799] he said, H6963 Why is this noise H7151 of the city H1993 [H8802] being in an uproar?

42 H1696 [H8764] And while he yet spoke, H3129 behold, Jonathan H1121 the son H54 of Abiathar H3548 the priest H935 [H8804] came: H138 and Adonijah H559 [H8799] said H935 [H8798] to him, Come in; H2428 for thou art a valiant H376 H381 [H8676] man, H1319 0 and bringest H2896 good H1319 [H8762] tidings.

43 H3129 And Jonathan H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said H138 to Adonijah, H61 Verily H113 our sovereign H4428 king H1732 David H8010 hath made Solomon H4427 [H8689] king.

44 H4428 And the king H7971 [H8799] hath sent H6659 with him Zadok H3548 the priest, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3077 of Jehoiada, H3774 and the Cherethites, H6432 and the Pelethites, H7392 [H8686] and they have caused him to ride H4428 upon the king's H6506 mule:

45 H6659 And Zadok H3548 the priest H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet H4886 [H8799] have anointed H4428 him king H1521 in Gihon: H5927 [H8799] and they have come H8056 from there rejoicing, H7151 so that the city H1949 [H8735] is in an uproar. H6963 This is the noise H8085 [H8804] that ye have heard.

46 H8010 And also Solomon H3427 [H8804] sitteth H3678 on the throne H4410 of the kingdom.

47 H4428 And moreover the king's H5650 servants H935 [H8804] came H1288 [H8763] to bless H113 our sovereign H4428 king H1732 David, H559 [H8800] saying, H430 God H8034 make the name H8010 of Solomon H3190 [H8686] better H8034 than thy name, H1431 0 and make H3678 his throne H1431 [H8762] greater H3678 than thy throne. H4428 And the king H7812 [H8691] bowed H4904 himself upon the bed.

48 H559 [H8804] And also thus said H4428 the king, H1288 [H8803] Blessed H3068 be the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H5414 [H8804] who hath given H3427 [H8802] one to sit H3678 on my throne H3117 this day, H5869 my eyes H7200 [H8802] even seeing it.

49 H7121 [H8803] And all the guests H138 that were with Adonijah H2729 [H8799] were afraid, H6965 [H8799] and arose, H3212 [H8799] and went H376 every man H1870 his way.

50 H138 And Adonijah H3372 [H8804] feared H6440 because H8010 of Solomon, H6965 [H8799] and arose, H3212 [H8799] and went, H2388 [H8686] and caught hold H7161 on the horns H4196 of the altar.

51 H5046 [H8714] And it was told H8010 Solomon, H559 [H8800] saying, H138 Behold, Adonijah H3372 [H8804] feareth H4428 king H8010 Solomon: H270 [H8804] for, lo, he hath caught hold H7161 on the horns H4196 of the altar, H559 [H8800] saying, H4428 Let king H8010 Solomon H7650 [H8735] swear H3117 to me to day H4191 [H8686] that he will not slay H5650 his servant H2719 with the sword.

52 H8010 And Solomon H559 [H8799] said, H2428 If he will show himself a worthy H1121 man, H8185 there shall not an hair H5307 [H8799] of him fall H776 to the earth: H7451 but if evil H4672 [H8735] shall be found H4191 [H8804] in him, he shall die.

53 H4428 So king H8010 Solomon H7971 [H8799] sent, H3381 [H8686] and they brought him down H4196 from the altar. H935 [H8799] And he came H7812 [H8691] and bowed H4428 himself to king H8010 Solomon: H8010 and Solomon H559 [H8799] said H3212 [H8798] to him, Go H1004 to thy house.

1 H3117 Now the days H1732 of David H7126 [H8799] drew near H4191 [H8800] that he should die; H6680 [H8762] and he charged H8010 Solomon H1121 his son, H559 [H8800] saying,

2 H1980 [H8802] I go H1870 the way H776 of all the earth: H2388 [H8804] be thou strong H376 therefore, and show thyself a man;

3 H8104 [H8804] And keep H4931 the charge H3068 of the LORD H430 thy God, H3212 [H8800] to walk H1870 in his ways, H8104 [H8800] to keep H2708 his statutes, H4687 and his commandments, H4941 and his judgments, H5715 and his testimonies, H3789 [H8803] as it is written H8451 in the law H4872 of Moses, H7919 [H8686] that thou mayest prosper H6213 [H8799] in all that thou doest, H6437 [H8799] and wherever thou turnest thyself:

4 H3068 That the LORD H6965 [H8686] may raise H1697 his word H1696 [H8765] which he spoke H559 [H8800] concerning me, saying, H1121 If thy sons H8104 [H8799] take heed H1870 to their way, H3212 [H8800] to walk H6440 at the face of H571 me in truth H3824 with all their heart H5315 and with all their breath, H3772 [H8735] there shall not be cut off H559 [H8800] to thee (said H376 he) a man H3678 from upon the throne H3478 of Israel.
