1 Kings 1:39-2:4 And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil out of the Tent, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, Long live king Solomon.

39 H6659 And Zadok H3548 the priest H3947 took H7161 the horn H8081 of oil H168 out of the Tent, H4886 and anointed H8010 Solomon. H8628 And they blew H7782 the trumpet; H5971 and all the people H559 said, H2421 Long live H4428 king H8010 Solomon.

40 H5971 And all the people H5927 came up H310 after H5971 him, and the people H2490 piped H2485 with pipes, H8056 and rejoiced H1419 with great H8057 joy, H776 so that the earth H1234 rent H6963 with the sound of them.

41 H138 And Adonijah H7121 and all the guests H8085 that were with him heard H3615 it as they had made an end H398 of eating. H3097 And when Joab H8085 heard H6963 the sound H7782 of the trumpet, H559 he said, H6963 Wherefore is this noise H7151 of the city H1993 being in an uproar?

42 H1696 While he yet spake, H3129 behold, Jonathan H1121 the son H54 of Abiathar H3548 the priest H935 came: H138 and Adonijah H559 said, H935 Come H935 in; H376 for thou art a worthy man, H1319 and bringest H2896 good H1319 tidings.

43 H3129 And Jonathan H6030 answered H559 and said H138 to Adonijah, H61 Verily H113 our lord H4428 king H1732 David H8010 hath made Solomon H4427 king:

44 H4428 and the king H7971 hath sent H6659 with him Zadok H3548 the priest, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3077 of Jehoiada, H3774 and the Cherethites H6432 and the Pelethites; H7392 and they have caused him to ride H4428 upon the king's H6506 mule;

45 H6659 and Zadok H3548 the priest H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet H4886 have anointed H4428 him king H1521 in Gihon; H5927 and they are come up H8056 from thence rejoicing, H7151 so that the city H1949 rang again. H6963 This is the noise H8085 that ye have heard.

46 H8010 And also Solomon H3427 sitteth H3678 on the throne H4410 of the kingdom.

47 H4428 And moreover the king's H5650 servants H935 came H1288 to bless H113 our lord H4428 king H1732 David, H559 saying, H430 Thy God H8034 make the name H8010 of Solomon H3190 better H8034 than thy name, H1431 and make H3678 his throne H1431 greater H3678 than thy throne: H4428 and the king H7812 bowed H4904 himself upon the bed.

48 H559 And also thus said H4428 the king, H1288 Blessed H3068 be Jehovah, H430 the God H3478 of Israel, H5414 who hath given H3427 one to sit H3678 on my throne H3117 this day, H5869 mine eyes H7200 even seeing it.

49 H7121 And all the guests H138 of Adonijah H2729 were afraid, H6965 and rose up, H3212 and went H376 every man H1870 his way.

50 H138 And Adonijah H3372 feared H6440 because H8010 of Solomon; H6965 and he arose, H3212 and went, H2388 and caught hold H7161 on the horns H4196 of the altar.

51 H5046 And it was told H8010 Solomon, H559 saying, H138 Behold, Adonijah H3372 feareth H4428 king H8010 Solomon; H270 for, lo, he hath laid hold H7161 on the horns H4196 of the altar, H559 saying, H4428 Let king H8010 Solomon H7650 swear H3117 unto me first H4191 that he will not slay H5650 his servant H2719 with the sword.

52 H8010 And Solomon H559 said, H2428 If he shall show himself a worthy H1121 man, H8185 there shall not a hair H5307 of him fall H776 to the earth; H7451 but if wickedness H4672 be found H4191 in him, he shall die.

53 H4428 So king H8010 Solomon H7971 sent, H3381 and they brought him down H4196 from the altar. H935 And he came H7812 and did obeisance H4428 to king H8010 Solomon; H8010 and Solomon H559 said H3212 unto him, Go H1004 to thy house.

1 H3117 Now the days H1732 of David H7126 drew nigh H4191 that he should die; H6680 and he charged H8010 Solomon H1121 his son, H559 saying,

2 H1980 I am going H1870 the way H776 of all the earth: H2388 be thou strong H376 therefore, and show thyself a man;

3 H8104 and keep H4931 the charge H3068 of Jehovah H430 thy God, H3212 to walk H1870 in his ways, H8104 to keep H2708 his statutes, H4687 and his commandments, H4941 and his ordinances, H5715 and his testimonies, H3789 according to that which is written H8451 in the law H4872 of Moses, H7919 that thou mayest prosper H6213 in all that thou doest, H6437 and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.

4 H3068 That Jehovah H6965 may establish H1697 his word H1696 which he spake H559 concerning me, saying, H1121 If thy children H8104 take heed H1870 to their way, H3212 to walk H6440 before H571 me in truth H3824 with all their heart H5315 and with all their soul, H3772 there shall not fail H559 thee (said H376 he) a man H3678 on the throne H3478 of Israel.
