HOT(i) 4 ולפני מזה אלישׁיב הכהן נתון בלשׁכת בית אלהינו קרוב לטוביה׃ 5 ויעשׂ לו לשׁכה גדולה ושׁם היו לפנים נתנים את המנחה הלבונה והכלים ומעשׂר הדגן התירושׁ והיצהר מצות הלוים והמשׁררים והשׁערים ותרומת הכהנים׃ 6 ובכל זה לא הייתי בירושׁלם כי בשׁנת שׁלשׁים ושׁתים לארתחשׁסתא מלך בבל באתי אל המלך ולקץ ימים נשׁאלתי מן המלך׃ 7 ואבוא לירושׁלם ואבינה ברעה אשׁר עשׂה אלישׁיב לטוביה לעשׂות לו נשׁכה בחצרי בית האלהים׃ 8 וירע לי מאד ואשׁליכה את כל כלי בית טוביה החוץ מן הלשׁכה׃ 9 ואמרה ויטהרו הלשׁכות ואשׁיבה שׁם כלי בית האלהים את המנחה והלבונה׃ 10 ואדעה כי מניות הלוים לא נתנה ויברחו אישׁ לשׂדהו הלוים והמשׁררים עשׂי המלאכה׃ 11 ואריבה את הסגנים ואמרה מדוע נעזב בית האלהים ואקבצם ואעמדם על עמדם׃ 12 וכל יהודה הביאו מעשׂר הדגן והתירושׁ והיצהר לאוצרות׃ 13 ואוצרה על אוצרות שׁלמיה הכהן וצדוק הסופר ופדיה מן הלוים ועל ידם חנן בן זכור בן מתניה כי נאמנים נחשׁבו ועליהם לחלק לאחיהם׃ 14 זכרה לי אלהי על זאת ואל תמח חסדי אשׁר עשׂיתי בבית אלהי ובמשׁמריו׃

  5 H6213 ויעשׂ And he had prepared H3957 לו לשׁכה chamber, H1419 גדולה for him a great H8033 ושׁם where H1961 היו formerly H6440 לפנים formerly H5414 נתנים they laid H853 את   H4503 המנחה the meat offerings, H3828 הלבונה the frankincense, H3627 והכלים and the vessels, H4643 ומעשׂר and the tithes H1715 הדגן of the corn, H8492 התירושׁ the new wine, H3323 והיצהר and the oil, H4687 מצות which was commanded H3881 הלוים to the Levites, H7891 והמשׁררים and the singers, H7778 והשׁערים and the porters; H8641 ותרומת and the offerings H3548 הכהנים׃ of the priests.

  8 H7489 וירע And it grieved H3966 לי מאד me sore: H7993 ואשׁליכה therefore I cast forth H853 את   H3605 כל all H3627 כלי stuff H1004 בית the household H2900 טוביה of Tobiah H2351 החוץ out H4480 מן of H3957 הלשׁכה׃ the chamber.
  9 H559 ואמרה Then I commanded, H2891 ויטהרו and they cleansed H3957 הלשׁכות the chambers: H7725 ואשׁיבה brought I again H8033 שׁם and thither H3627 כלי the vessels H1004 בית of the house H430 האלהים of God, H854 את with H4503 המנחה the meat offering H3828 והלבונה׃ and the frankincense.
  10 H3045 ואדעה And I perceived H3588 כי that H4521 מניות the portions H3881 הלוים of the Levites H3808 לא had not H5414 נתנה been given H1272 ויברחו were fled H376 אישׁ every one H7704 לשׂדהו to his field.   13 H686 ואוצרה And I made treasurers H5921 על over H214 אוצרות the treasuries, H8018 שׁלמיה Shelemiah H3548 הכהן the priest, H6659 וצדוק and Zadok H5608 הסופר the scribe, H6305 ופדיה Pedaiah: H4480 מן and of H3881 הלוים the Levites, H5921 ועל and next to H3027 ידם and next to H2605 חנן them Hanan H1121 בן the son H2139 זכור of Zaccur, H1121 בן the son H4983 מתניה of Mattaniah: H3588 כי for H539 נאמנים faithful, H2803 נחשׁבו they were counted H5921 ועליהם and their office H2505 לחלק to distribute H251 לאחיהם׃ unto their brethren.

  5 H6213 [H8799] And he had prepared H1419 for him a great H3957 chamber, H6440 where at the face of H5414 [H8802] they laid H4503 the meat offerings, H3828 the frankincense, H3627 and the vessels, H4643 and the tithes H1715 of the grain, H8492 the new wine, H3323 and the oil, H4687 which was commanded H3881 to be given to the Levites, H7891 [H8789] and the singers, H7778 and the porters; H8641 and the offerings H3548 of the priests.
  6 H3389 But in all this time I was not at Jerusalem: H8147 for in the two H7970 and thirtieth H8141 year H783 of Artaxerxes H4428 king H894 of Babylon H935 [H8804] I came H4428 to the king, H7093 and after H3117 certain days H7592 [H8738] I obtained leave H4428 of the king:
  7 H935 [H8799] And I came H3389 to Jerusalem, H995 [H8799] and understood H7451 of the evil H475 that Eliashib H6213 [H8804] did H2900 for Tobiah, H6213 [H8800] in preparing H5393 for him a chamber H2691 in the courts H1004 of the house H430 of God.
  8 H3415 [H8799] And it grieved H3966 me greatly: H7993 [H8686] therefore I cast forth H1004 all the household H3627 goods H2900 of Tobiah H2351 out of H3957 the chamber.
