RYLT(i) 17 And as he is going forth into the way, one having run and having kneeled to him, was questioning him, 'Good teacher, what may I do, that life age-during I may inherit?' 18 And Jesus said to him, 'Why me do you call good? no one is good except One -- God; 19 the commands you have known: You may not commit adultery, You may do no murder, You may not steal, You may not bear false witness, You may not defraud, Honour your father and mother.' 20 And he answering said to him, 'Teacher, all these did I keep from my youth.' 21 And Jesus having looked upon him, did love him, and said to him, 'One thing you do lack; go away, whatever you have -- sell, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me, having taken up the cross.' 22 And he -- gloomy at the word -- went away sorrowing, for he was having many possessions.
EJ2000(i) 17 ¶ And as he was leaving to continue his way, there came one running, who kneeled before him and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why dost thou call me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these I have observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go, sell all that thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}, and follow me taking up thy stake (if thy desire is to be perfect). 22 But he, saddened by this word, went away grieved, for he had great possessions.
CAB(i) 17 Now as He was going out into the road, one came running up, and having knelt before Him, he asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" 18 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, God. 19 You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not commit murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and your mother.' WPNT(i) 17 As Jesus set out on the road, someone came running up, knelt before Him and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what must I do that I may inherit eternal life?” 18 So Jesus said to Him: “Why do you call me ‘good’? No one is good except one—God. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery’, ‘Do not murder’, ‘Do not steal’, ‘Do not give false testimony’, ‘Do not defraud’, ‘Honor your father and mother’.” 20 In answer he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these since I was young”. 21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him: “One thing you lack; go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, take up the cross, and follow me.” 22 But he was dismayed at the suggestion and went away sorrowing, because he had many possessions.
JMNT(i) 17 Later, during His traveling out into [the] road (or: a path; or: as He was setting out on His way), a certain rich man, running toward [Him] and falling on his knees [before] Him, began asking Him, "Good Teacher! What should I do (or: perform) to the end that I can (or, as a future: will) inherit (receive and enjoy an allotment of) eonian life (life pertaining to and having the qualities of the Age; life into the unseeable and indefinite future; life for and of the ages)?" 18 Yet Jesus said to him, "Why, from reasoning, are you proceeding in terming Me 'good'? No one [is] good except One, God. 19 "You have perceived and are thus acquainted with the implanted goals (impartations of the finished product within; inward directives), 'You should not murder; you should not commit adultery; you should not steal; you should not bear false witness (give false testimony); you should not cheat or defraud. Be habitually honoring, valuing and respecting your father and mother.'" [Ex. 20:12-13] 20 So he affirmed to Him, "Teacher, I observed, guarded and maintained all these from out of my youth (= since my boyhood)." 21 Now Jesus, looking at him and seeing within him, loves him, and so said to him, "You yourself continue behind, and are thus lacking and coming short in, one thing. Withdraw (or: Go off) and progressively bring things under control. At once sell as many things as you continue holding (possessing; having), then at once give to the poor and destitute folks – and you will continue holding (possessing; having) stored up treasure within heaven (or: in [your] atmosphere)! After that, come here and be habitually following with Me [other MSS add: picking up the cross]." 22 Yet he, being somber and downcast with gloom upon [hearing] the word (the message with its thoughts and ideas), went away being increasingly made sad with pain and distress, for he was being in the position of holding (having) many possessions (the results of many acquisitions of goods and property).
NSB(i) 17 As he traveled someone ran to him, kneeled and asked him: »Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit everlasting life?« 18 Jesus asked him: »Why do you call me good? None is good except God. 19 »You know the commandments, do not kill, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.« 20 »Teacher,« he said: »I have observed all of these from my youth.« 21 Jesus lovingly looked at him and said: »You lack one thing. Go, sell your possessions and give to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.« 22 He was very sad when he heard this for he had many possessions. Then he went away.

As Jesus was setting out again, a man ran up to him, knelt down in front of him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “Nobody is good except for one—God. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Never murder.’ ‘Never commit adultery.’ ‘Never steal.’ ‘Never give false testimony.’ ‘Never cheat.’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”
20 The man replied to him, “Teacher, I have obeyed all of these since I was a young man.”
21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. Then he told him, “You’re missing one thing. Go and sell everything you own, give the money to the destitute, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me.” 22 Shocked at this statement, the man went away sad, because he had many possessions.

PBG(i) 17 A gdy on wychodził w drogę, przybieżał jeden, i upadłszy przed nim na kolana, pytał go: Nauczycielu dobry! cóż czynić mam, abym odziedziczył żywot wieczny? 20 A on odpowiadając, rzekł mu: Nauczycielu! tegom wszystkiego przestrzegał od młodości mojej.
