There is none good but God only. ¹⁹ Thou knowest the commandments; thou shall not commit adultery, thou shalt not commit murder, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false testimony, thou shalt not defraud, honour thy father and thy mother. ²⁰ He answering, said to him, Teacher, All these I have observed from my childhood. ²¹ Then Jesus, looking stedfastly on him, loved him, and said to him, One thing is wanting to thee. Go sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. Then come, and having taken up the cross, follow me. ²² At this word, he was grieved and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
