  14 G2036 said G4314 to G1473 them, G4374 You brought G1473 to me G3588   G444 this man G3778   G5613 as G654 perverting G3588 the G2992 people. G2532 And G2400 behold, G1473 I G1799 before G1473 you G350 having questioned him, G3762 [2nothing G2147 1find] G1722 in G3588   G444 this man G3778   G158 for a fault G3739 of which G2723 to lay charge G2596 against G1473 him,
  15 G235 and G3761 not even G* Herod; G375 for I sent G1063   G1473 you G4314 to G1473 him; G2532 and G2400 behold, G3762 nothing G514 worthy G2288 of death G1510.2.3 is G4238 being acted G1473 by him.
  16 G3811 Correcting G3767 him then, G1473   G630 I will release him .
  17 G318 (And by necessity G1161   G2192 he had G630 to release G1473 to them G2596 each G1859 holiday G1520 one person).
  18 G349 But they shouted aloud G1161   G3826 all at once, G3004 saying, G142 Take G3778 this one, G630 but release G1161   G1473 to us G3588   G* Barabbas;
  19 G3748 who G1510.7.3 was G1223 on account of G4714 a certain insurrection G5100   G1096 having taken place G1722 in G3588 the G4172 city, G2532 and G5408 for murder, G906 thrown G1519 into G5438 prison.
  20 G3825 Then again, G3767   G3588   G* Pilate G4377 called out to them, G2309 wanting G630 to release G3588   G* Jesus.
  21 G3588 But they G1161   G2019 were sounding out, G3004 saying, G4717 Crucify! G4717 Crucify G1473 him!

And, as a fact, he has not done anything deserving death; 16 So I shall have him scourged, and then release him." 17 OMITTED TEXT 18 But they began to shout as one man: "Kill this fellow, but release Barabbas for us." 19 (Barabbas was a man who had been put in prison for a riot that had broken out in the city and for murder.) 20 Pilate, however, wanting to release Jesus, called to them again; 21 But they kept calling out: "Crucify, crucify him!"
Godbey(i) 13 Pilate having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14 said to them, You have brought to me this man, as revolutionizing the people: and behold, I, judging Him before you, found nothing in this man criminal of those things which you accuse against Him. 15 But Herod did not: for he sent Him back to us; and behold, nothing worthy of death has been done by Him. 16 Therefore having scourged Him, I will release Him. 17 OMITTED TEXT 18 And they unanimously cried out, saying, Take Him away, and release unto us Barabbas: 19 who had been cast into prison on account of certain sedition made in the city, and murder. 20 Then Pilate again called to them, wishing to release Jesus. 21 And they continued to shout aloud, saying, Crucify Him, crucify Him.
WNT(i) 13 Then calling together the High Priests and the Rulers and the people, Pilate said, 14 "You have brought this man to me on a charge of corrupting the loyalty of the people. But, you see, I have examined him in your presence and have discovered in the man no ground for the accusations which you bring against him. 15 No, nor does Herod; for he has sent him back to us; and, you see, there is nothing he has done that deserves death. 16 I will therefore give him a light punishment and release him." 17 OMITTED TEXT 18 Then the whole multitude burst out into a shout. "Away with this man," they said, "and release Barabbas to us" 19 --Barabbas! who had been lodged in jail for some time in connection with a riot which had occurred in the city, and for murder. 20 But Pilate once more addressed them, wishing to set Jesus free. 21 They, however, persistently shouted, "Crucify, crucify him!"
Worrell(i) 13 And Pilate, calling together the high priests and the rulers and the people, 14 said to them, "Ye brought to me This Man as One perverting the people and, behold, I, having examined Him before you, found no fault in This Man regarding those things of which ye accuse Him; 15 no, nor yet Herod; for he sent Him hack to us; and, behold, nothing worthy of death has been done by Him. 16 Chastising Him, therefore, I will release Him" 17 OMITTED TEXT. 18 But they cried out again with all the multitude, saying, "Away with Him! and release to us Barabbas!"— 19 one who, indeed, because of a certain insurrection made in the city, and of murder, was cast into prison. 20 And again Pilate called to them, wishing to release Jesus. 21 But they kept calling out, saying, "Crucify, crucify Him!"
Moffatt(i) 13 Then summoning the high priests and rulers and the people, 14 Pilate said to them, "You brought me this man as being an inciter to rebellion among the people. I have examined him before you and found nothing criminal about him, for all your accusations against him. 15 No, nor has Herod, for he has remitted him to us. He has done nothing, you see, that calls for death; 16 so I shall release him with a whipping." 17 -- 18 But they shouted one and all, "Away with him! Release Bar-Abbas for us!" 19 (This was a man who had been put into prison on account of a riot which had taken place in the city and also on a charge of murder.) 20 Again Pilate addressed them, for he wanted to release Jesus, 21 but they roared, "To the cross, to the cross with him!"
Goodspeed(i) 13 Pilate summoned the high priests and the leading members of the council and the people, 14 and said to them, "You brought this man before me charged with misleading the people, and here I have examined him before you and not found him guilty of any of the things that you accuse him of. 15 Neither has Herod, for he has sent him back to us. You see he has done nothing to call for his death. 16 So I will teach him a lesson and let him go." 17 OMITTED TEXT 18 But they all shouted out, "Kill him, and release Barabbas for us!" 19 (He was a man who had been put in prison for a riot that had taken place in the city and for murder.) 20 But Pilate wanted to let Jesus go, and he called out to them again. 21 But they kept on shouting, "Crucify him! Crucify him!"
Riverside(i) 13 Pilate called together the high priests and the rulers and the people 14 and said to them, "You have brought before me this man as one who misguides the people, and yet I, in examining him before you, have found in this man not one criminal thing of all that you charge against him. 15 No more has Herod; for he has sent him back to us. See, nothing deserving of death has been done by him. 16 So I will scourge him and release him." 17 TEXT OMITTED 18 But the whole crowd cried out together, "Put him out of the way and free Barabbas for us!" 19 (Barabbas, on account of a riot that had occurred in the city and for murder, had been thrown into prison.) 20 Again Pilate spoke to them, wishing to release Jesus. 21 But they shouted, "Crucify him, crucify him!"
MNT(i) 13 So Pilate called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14 and said to them. "You brought before me this man as one who incited the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence, and I find no fault in this man regarding the charges that you brought against him. 15 Neither does Herod; for he sent him back to us. You see that he has done nothing worthy of death. 16 I will therefore, after flogging him, release him." 17 "Now he had to release to them at the feast one prisoner." 18 Then the whole crowd shouted out, "Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas." 19 (This was a man who had been thrown in prison on account of a riot which had occurred in the city, and for murder.) 20 Then Pilate spoke to them again, because he wished to release Jesus; 21 but they continued to shout out and say, "Crucify! Crucify him!"
Lamsa(i) 13 Then Pilate called the high priests and the leaders of the people, 14 And he said to them, You brought me this man, as if he were misleading your people; and behold, I have examined him before your own eyes, and I have found no fault in this man concerning all that you accuse him. 15 Not even has Herod; for I sent him to him; and behold, he has done nothing worthy of death. 16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him. 17 For there was a custom to release to them one at the feast. 18 But all the people cried out saying, Get rid of him, and release to us Bar-Abbas; 19 Who because of sedition and murder which had happened in the city, was cast into prison. 20 Again Pilate spoke to them, desiring to release Jesus. 21 But they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.
CLV(i) 13 Now Pilate, calling together the chief priests and the chiefs and the people, 14 said to them, "You bring to me this man as one who is turning away the people, and lo! I, examining him in your sight, found in this man not one fault of which you are accusing him." 15 Nay, neither Herod, for he sends him back to us, and lo! nothing deserving of death is committed by him." 16 Disciplining him then, I will release him." 17 Now of necessity he had to release one for them at the festival. 18 Yet they cried out, all as one multitude, saying, "Away with this one! Yet release for us Bar-Abbas"-" 19 who was, because of a certain insurrection occurring in the city, and a murder, cast into jail." 20 Now again Pilate shouts to them, willing to release Jesus." 21 Yet they retorted, saying, "Crucify, crucify him!"
Williams(i) 13 Then Pilate called a meeting of the high priests, the leaders of the council, and the people, 14 and said to them, "You brought this man to me on a charge of turning the people from allegiance, and here in your presence I have examined Him and do not find Him guilty of the charges you make against Him. 15 No; nor does Herod, for he has sent Him back to us. Indeed, He has done nothing to deserve the death penalty. 16 So I will flog Him and let Him go." 17 Omitted Text. 18 But they all together began to shout, "Away with this fellow, but let us have Barabbas released! 19 (He was a man who had been put in prison for a riot that had occurred in the city and for murder.) 20 Then Pilate again appealed to them, for He wanted to let Jesus go. 21 But they continued to shout at him, "Crucify Him, crucify Him?
BBE(i) 13 And Pilate sent for the chief priests and the rulers and the people, and said to them, 14 You say that this man has been teaching the people evil things: now I, after going into the question before you, see nothing wrong in this man in connection with the things which you have said against him: 15 And Herod is of the same opinion, for he has sent him back to us; for, you see, he has done nothing for which I might put him to death. 16 And so I will give him punishment and let him go. 17 (OMITTED TEXT) 18 But with loud voices they said all together, Put this man to death, and make Barabbas free. 19 Now this man was in prison because of an attack against the government in the town, in which there had been loss of life. 20 And Pilate again said to them that it was his desire to let Jesus go free. 21 But crying out they said, To the cross with him!
MKJV(i) 13 And when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14 Pilate said to them, You have brought this Man to me as perverting the people. LITV(i) 13 And having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14 Pilate said to them, You brought this man to me as perverting the people. Crucify him!

PILATOS WILLS TO RELEASE YAH SHUA
And Pilatos calls together the archpriests and the archs and the people, 14 and says to them, You offer this human to me as one who turns the people: and behold, I, examining him in your sight, find no cause in this human of those whereof you accuse him: 15 nor even Herod: for I resent you to him; and behold, he transacted naught worthy of death: 16 so I discipline him and release. 17 - for of necessity he releases one to them at the celebration. 18 And the whole multitude screams simultaneously, wording, Take this one, and release to us Bar Abbas: 19 - who for a riot being in the city and for murder, was cast in the guardhouse. 20 So Pilatos, wills to release Yah Shua, and speaks to them again: 21 but they shout, wording, Stake! Stake him!
AUV(i) 13 Then Pilate called together the leading priests, the [Jewish] leaders and the people, 14 and said to them, “You brought this man to me, claiming he was inciting people to disloyalty [i.e., to the government]. And look, I questioned him in front of you people but did not find him guilty of the charges you 15 or Herod have brought [against him]. For Herod sent him back to us and now I find that he has not done anything deserving of death. 16 Therefore, I will have him punished and [then] release him.” {{Some ancient manuscripts include verse 17 For Pilate was required to release one prisoner to the people at the [Passover] Festival}}. 18 But the people all joined together shouting, “Take this man [i.e., Jesus] and release Barabbas to us [instead].” 19 [Now] Barabbas was a person who had been thrown into prison for [inciting] a rebellion in the city [of Jerusalem] and for committing murder. 20 Then Pilate spoke to them again [because] he wanted to release Jesus, 21 but they continued shouting, “Crucify him, crucify him.”
ACV(i) 13 And Pilate having called together the chief priests, and the rulers, and the people, 14 said to them, Ye brought this man to me as turning away the people. I have found in him no crime deserving death. I will therefore chastise him and release him."

EJ2000(i) 13 ¶ Then Pilate, calling together the princes of the priests and the rulers and the people, 14 said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me as one that perverts the people; and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things of which ye accuse him; 15 no, nor yet Herod, for I sent you to him; and, behold, he has done nothing worthy of death. 16 I will therefore chastise him and release him. 17 (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) 18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas 19 (who for a certain sedition made in the city and for murder was cast into prison). 20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them. 21 But they cried, saying, crucify him, crucify him. {Gr. stauroo – hang him on a stake}
CAB(i) 13 And Pilate, having called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people, 14 said to them, "You have brought this Man to me, on the charge of misleading the people. And indeed, when I examined Him in your presence, I found no guilt in this Man in the matters which you bring as charges against Him; 15 and neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing worthy of death has been done by Him. 16 Therefore when I have flogged Him, I will release Him." 17 (for it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast). 18 But they all cried out together, saying, "Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas"-- 19 who because of a certain insurrection having occurred in the city had been thrown into prison, and for murder. 20 Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. 21 But they cried out, saying, "Crucify, crucify Him!"
WPNT(i) 13 Then Pilate, having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14 said to them: “You have brought this man to me as one who misleads the people, and yet, having examined him in your presence, I have found no guilt in this man as to those things of which you accuse him. 15 Further, neither did Herod (for I sent you on to him); indeed, nothing deserving of death has been done by him. 16 I will therefore flog and release him.” 17 (It was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.) 18 But they all cried out together, saying: “Away with this one! Release to us Barabbas!”— 19 who had been thrown into prison for a certain insurrection in the city, and for murder. 20 Then Pilate, wanting to release Jesus, addressed them again. 21 But they just kept shouting: “Crucify! Crucify him!”
JMNT(i) 13 Then Pilate, calling together to himself the leading priests, the rulers (ranking leaders) and the people, said to them, 14 "You people brought this man to me as one constantly turning the people away [from the right path] (perhaps: = inciting the people to revolt), and yet, look and consider: I, myself – re-examining and sifting [him] in front of you folks (or: in your presence) – found not one fault or ground in this man for the charges which you people keep bringing down on him! 15 "As further contradiction, neither [did] Herod, for he sent him back to us – and look! – there is nothing worthy of death having been committed by him! 16 "Therefore, after disciplining and chastising (= flogging) him, I will release him (or: loose him away). 17 [this vs. omitted by most texts, but is in some MSS: Now he was normally having an obligation to release one [prisoner] to them, in accord with {the} festival.] 18 But they, as it were with one voice of an entire multitude, cried out – some screaming; some yelling; some shrieking – repeatedly saying, "Be lifting this one up (or: Proceed in taking this one away)!... yet at once release to (or: for) us Barabbas (meaning: the [or: a] father's son)!" 19which was a man having been thrown into the prison because of a certain rebellion (incident where folks took a stand and were posturing as for a riot or an uprising) occurring within the City, and [for] murder. 20 Now again, Pilate shouts to them – still wanting and intending to release Jesus – 21 but they kept on yelling and shouting [back], repeatedly saying, "Be crucifying!... proceed putting him to death on an execution stake!"
NSB(i) 13 Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people. 14 He said: »You brought this man to me as one who perverted the people. I examined him before you and find no fault in this man. He has not done the things you accuse him of. 15 »Herod found no fault and sent him back to us. He has done nothing worthy of death. 16 »I will therefore punish him, and release him.« 17 He must release one prisoner to them at the feast. 18 They cried out in unison: »Take this man away and release to us Barabbas!« 19 He was thrown into prison for insurrection (sedition) in the city and murder. 20 Pilate spoke to them again desiring to release Jesus. 21 But they shouted, »Impale him! Impale him!«
ISV(i) 13 Jesus is Sentenced to Death
Then Pilate called the high priests, the other leaders, and the people together 14 and told them, “You brought this man to me as one who turns the people against the government. And here in your presence I have examined him and have found him ‘Not Guilty’ of the charges you make against him. 15 Neither does Herod, because he sent him back to us! Indeed, this man has done nothing to deserve death. 16 So I will punish him and let him go.”
17 Now he was obligated to release someone for them at the festival. 18 But they all shouted out together, “Away with this man! Release Barabbas for us!” 19 (This man had been put in prison for murder and for a revolt that had taken place in the city.) 20 But Pilate wanted to let Jesus go, so he appealed to them again, 21 but they continued to shout, “Crucify him! Crucify him!”

18 But they cried out altogether, saying, Take this one and release Barabbas to us. 19 He was one who has been cast into prison because of a certain riot, which happened in the city, and for murder.
20 Therefore Pilate shouted to them again, wishing to release Jesus.
