Di atas mezbah itu orang Israel mempersembahkan kepada TUHAN: kurban bakaran dan juga kurban perdamaian mereka. ³² Di sana, dengan disaksikan oleh orang-orang Israel, Yosua menulis pada batu-batu mezbah itu salinan hukum-hukum TUHAN yang terdapat dalam Buku Musa. ³³ Orang-orang Israel, dengan pemimpin-pemimpin, perwira-perwira, hakim-hakim, dan juga orang-orang asing yang tinggal di antara mereka, berdiri di sebelah-menyebelah Peti Perjanjian TUHAN menghadap para imam Lewi yang memikul Peti Perjanjian itu. Separuh dari orang-orang itu menghadap ke Gunung Gerizim, dan separuhnya lagi menghadap ke Gunung Ebal. Tai parašyta Mozės įstatymo knygoje, kad aukuras būtų pastatytas iš netašytų akmenų, kurie nepaliesti jokiu metaliniu įrankiu. Jie aukojo ant jo deginamąsias ir padėkos aukas Viešpačiui. ³² Jozuė ant tų akmenų įrašė Mozės įstatymą izraelitams matant. ³³ Izraelitai su savo vyresniaisiais, vadais ir teisėjais stovėjo abiejuose skrynios šonuose akivaizdoje levitų kunigų, kurie neša Viešpaties Sandoros skrynią, kaip gimę tarp jų, taip ir ateiviai.
