H3117 In those days H2396 was Hezekiah H2470 sick [H8804]   H4191 unto death [H8800]   H3470 . And Isaiah H5030 the prophet H1121 the son H531 of Amoz H935 came [H8799]   H559 unto him, and said [H8799]   H559 unto him, Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H1004 , Set thine house H6680 in order [H8761]   H4191 : for thou shalt die [H8801]   H2421 , and not live [H8799]  .
H2396 Then Hezekiah H5437 turned [H8686]   H6440 his face H7023 toward the wall H6419 , and prayed [H8691]   H3068 unto the LORD,
H559 And said [H8799]   H2142 , Remember [H8798]   H3068 now, O LORD H577 , I beseech H1980 thee, how I have walked [H8694]   H6440 before H571 thee in truth H8003 and with a perfect H3820 heart H6213 , and have done [H8804]   H2896 that which is good H5869 in thy sight H2396 . And Hezekiah H1058 wept [H8799]   H1065   H1419 sore.
H1697 Then came the word H3068 of the LORD H3470 to Isaiah H559 , saying [H8800]  ,
H1980 Go [H8800]   H559 , and say [H8804]   H2396 to Hezekiah H559 , Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H430 , the God H1732 of David H1 thy father H8085 , I have heard [H8804]   H8605 thy prayer H7200 , I have seen [H8804]   H1832 thy tears H3254 : behold, I will add [H8802]   H3117 unto thy days H2568 fifteen H6240   H8141 years.
H5337 And I will deliver [H8686]   H5892 thee and this city H3709 out of the hand H4428 of the king H804 of Assyria H1598 : and I will defend [H8804]   H5892 this city.
H226 And this shall be a sign H3068 unto thee from the LORD H3068 , that the LORD H6213 will do [H8799]   H1697 this thing H1696 that he hath spoken [H8765]  ;
H7725 Behold, I will bring again [H8688]   H6738 the shadow H4609 of the degrees H3381 , which is gone down [H8804]   H8121 in the sun H4609 dial H271 of Ahaz H6235 , ten H4609 degrees H322 backward H8121 . So the sun H7725 returned [H8799]   H6235 ten H4609 degrees H4609 , by which degrees H3381 it was gone down [H8804]  .
H4385 The writing H2396 of Hezekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H2470 , when he had been sick [H8800]   H2421 , and was recovered [H8799]   H2483 of his sickness:
H559 I said [H8804]   H1824 in the cutting off H3117 of my days H3212 , I shall go [H8799]   H8179 to the gates H7585 of the grave H6485 : I am deprived [H8795]   H3499 of the residue H8141 of my years.
H559 I said [H8804]   H7200 , I shall not see [H8799]   H3050 the LORD H3050 , even the LORD H776 , in the land H2416 of the living H5027 : I shall behold [H8686]   H120 man H3427 no more with the inhabitants [H8802]   H2309 of the world.
H1755 Mine age H5265 is departed [H8738]   H1540 , and is removed [H8738]   H7473 from me as a shepherd's H168 tent H7088 : I have cut off [H8765]   H707 like a weaver [H8802]   H2416 my life H1214 : he will cut me off [H8762]   H1803 with pining sickness H3117 : from day H3915 even to night H7999 wilt thou make an end [H8686]   of me.
H7737 I reckoned [H8765]   H1242 till morning H738 , that, as a lion H7665 , so will he break [H8762]   H6106 all my bones H3117 : from day H3915 even to night H7999 wilt thou make an end [H8686]   of me.
H5483 Like a crane H5693 or a swallow H6850 , so did I chatter [H8770]   H1897 : I did mourn [H8799]   H3123 as a dove H5869 : mine eyes H1809 fail [H8804]   H4791 with looking upward H3068 : O LORD H6234 , I am oppressed H6148 ; undertake [H8798]   for me.
H1696 What shall I say [H8762]   H559 ? he hath both spoken [H8804]   H6213 unto me, and himself hath done [H8804]   H1718 it : I shall go softly [H8691]   H8141 all my years H4751 in the bitterness H5315 of my soul.
H136 O Lord H2421 , by these things men live [H8799]   H2416 , and in all these things is the life H7307 of my spirit H2492 : so wilt thou recover [H8686]   H2421 me, and make me to live [H8685]  .
H7965 Behold, for peace H4751 I had great bitterness H4843   [H8804]   H2836 : but thou hast in love [H8804]   H5315 to my soul H7845 delivered it from the pit H1097 of corruption H7993 : for thou hast cast [H8689]   H2399 all my sins H310 behind H1460 thy back.
H7585 For the grave H3034 cannot praise [H8686]   H4194 thee, death H1984 can not celebrate [H8762]   H3381 thee: they that go down [H8802]   H953 into the pit H7663 cannot hope [H8762]   H571 for thy truth.
H2416 The living H2416 , the living H3034 , he shall praise [H8686]   H3117 thee, as I do this day H1 : the father H1121 to the children H3045 shall make known [H8686]   H571 thy truth.
H3068 The LORD H3467 was ready to save [H8687]   H5058 me: therefore we will sing my songs H5059 to the stringed instruments [H8762]   H3117 all the days H2416 of our life H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD.
H3470 For Isaiah H559 had said [H8799]   H5375 , Let them take [H8799]   H1690 a lump H8384 of figs H4799 , and lay it for a plaister [H8799]   H7822 upon the boil H2421 , and he shall recover [H8799]  .
H2396 Hezekiah H559 also had said [H8799]   H226 , What is the sign H5927 that I shall go up [H8799]   H1004 to the house H3068 of the LORD?
ERV(i) 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, 3 and said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. 6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city. 7 And this shall he the sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken: 8 behold, I will cause the shadow on the steps, which is gone down on the dial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the dial whereon it was gone down. 9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness. 10 I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. 11 I said, I shall not see the LORD, [even] the LORD in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world. 12 Mine age is removed, and is carried away from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have rolled up like a weaver my life; he will cut me off from the loom: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. 13 I quieted [myself] until morning; as a lion, so he breaketh all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. 14 Like a swallow [or] a crane, so did I chatter; I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail [with looking] upward; O LORD, I am oppressed, be thou my surety. 15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years because of the bitterness of my soul. 16 O Lord, by these things men live, and wholly therein is the life of my spirit: wherefore recover thou me, and make me to live. 17 Behold, [it was] for [my] peace [that] I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. 18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. 19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. 20 The LORD is [ready] to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD. 21 Now Isaiah had said, Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover. 22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
