KJV_Strongs(i)
H7586 And Saul H1696 spake [H8762]   H3129 to Jonathan H1121 his son H5650 , and to all his servants H4191 , that they should kill [H8687]   H1732 David.
H3083 But Jonathan H7586 Saul's H1121 son H2654 delighted [H8804]   H3966 much H1732 in David H3083 : and Jonathan H5046 told [H8686]   H1732 David H559 , saying [H8800]   H7586 , Saul H1 my father H1245 seeketh [H8764]   H4191 to kill [H8687]   H8104 thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed [H8734]   H1242 to thyself until the morning H3427 , and abide [H8804]   H5643 in a secret H2244 place, and hide [H8738]   thyself:
H3318 And I will go out [H8799]   H5975 and stand [H8804]   H3027 beside H1 my father H7704 in the field H1696 where thou art, and I will commune [H8762]   H1 with my father H4100 of thee; and what H7200 I see [H8804]   H5046 , that I will tell [H8689]   thee.
H3083 And Jonathan H1696 spake [H8762]   H2896 good H1732 of David H7586 unto Saul H1 his father H559 , and said [H8799]   H4428 unto him, Let not the king H2398 sin [H8799]   H5650 against his servant H1732 , against David H2398 ; because he hath not sinned [H8804]   H4639 against thee, and because his works H3966 have been to thee-ward very H2896 good:
H7760 For he did put [H8799]   H5315 his life H3709 in his hand H5221 , and slew [H8686]   H6430 the Philistine H3068 , and the LORD H6213 wrought [H8799]   H1419 a great H8668 salvation H3478 for all Israel H7200 : thou sawest [H8804]   H8055 it, and didst rejoice [H8799]   H2398 : wherefore then wilt thou sin [H8799]   H5355 against innocent H1818 blood H4191 , to slay [H8687]   H1732 David H2600 without a cause?
H7586 And Saul H8085 hearkened [H8799]   H6963 unto the voice H3083 of Jonathan H7586 : and Saul H7650 sware [H8735]   H3068 , As the LORD H2416 liveth H518 , he shall not H4191 be slain [H8714]  .
H3083 And Jonathan H7121 called [H8799]   H1732 David H3083 , and Jonathan H5046 shewed [H8686]   H1697 him all those things H3083 . And Jonathan H935 brought [H8686]   H1732 David H7586 to Saul H6440 , and he was in his presence H865 , as in times past H8032  .
H4421 And there was war H3254 again [H8686]   H1732 : and David H3318 went out [H8799]   H3898 , and fought [H8735]   H6430 with the Philistines H5221 , and slew [H8686]   H1419 them with a great H4347 slaughter H5127 ; and they fled [H8799]   H6440 from him.
H7451 And the evil H7307 spirit H3068 from the LORD H7586 was upon Saul H3427 , as he sat [H8802]   H1004 in his house H2595 with his javelin H3027 in his hand H1732 : and David H5059 played [H8764]   H3027 with his hand.
H7586 And Saul H1245 sought [H8762]   H5221 to smite [H8687]   H1732 David H7023 even to the wall H2595 with the javelin H6362 ; but he slipped away [H8799]   H7586 out of Saul's H6440 presence H5221 , and he smote [H8686]   H2595 the javelin H7023 into the wall H1732 : and David H5127 fled [H8804]   H4422 , and escaped [H8735]   H3915 that night.
H7586 Saul H7971 also sent [H8799]   H4397 messengers H1732 unto David's H1004 house H8104 , to watch [H8800]   H4191 him, and to slay [H8687]   H1242 him in the morning H4324 : and Michal H1732 David's H802 wife H5046 told [H8686]   H559 him, saying [H8800]   H4422 , If thou save [H8764]   H5315 not thy life H3915 to night H4279 , to morrow H4191 thou shalt be slain [H8716]  .
H4324 So Michal H3381 let H1732 David H3381 down [H8686]   H2474 through a window H3212 : and he went [H8799]   H1272 , and fled [H8799]   H4422 , and escaped [H8735]  .
H4324 And Michal H3947 took [H8799]   H8655 an image H7760 , and laid [H8799]   H4296 it in the bed H7760 , and put [H8804]   H3523 a pillow H5795 of goats H4763 ' hair for his bolster H3680 , and covered [H8762]   H899 it with a cloth.
H7586 And when Saul H7971 sent [H8799]   H4397 messengers H3947 to take [H8800]   H1732 David H559 , she said [H8799]   H2470 , He is sick [H8802]  .
H7586 And Saul H7971 sent [H8799]   H4397 the messengers H7200 again to see [H8800]   H1732 David H559 , saying [H8800]   H5927 , Bring him up [H8685]   H4296 to me in the bed H4191 , that I may slay [H8687]   him.
H4397 And when the messengers H935 were come in [H8799]   H8655 , behold, there was an image H4296 in the bed H3523 , with a pillow H5795 of goats H4763 ' hair for his bolster.
H7586 And Saul H559 said [H8799]   H4324 unto Michal H7411 , Why hast thou deceived me so [H8765]   H7971 , and sent away [H8762]   H341 mine enemy [H8802]   H4422 , that he is escaped [H8735]   H4324 ? And Michal H559 answered [H8799]   H7586 Saul H559 , He said [H8804]   H7971 unto me, Let me go [H8761]   H4191 ; why should I kill [H8686]   thee?
H1732 So David H1272 fled [H8804]   H4422 , and escaped [H8735]   H935 , and came [H8799]   H8050 to Samuel H7414 to Ramah H5046 , and told [H8686]   H7586 him all that Saul H6213 had done [H8804]   H8050 to him. And he and Samuel H3212 went [H8799]   H3427 and dwelt [H8799]   H5121 in Naioth.
H5046 And it was told [H8714]   H7586 Saul H559 , saying [H8800]   H1732 , Behold, David H5121 is at Naioth H7414 in Ramah.
H7586 And Saul H7971 sent [H8799]   H4397 messengers H3947 to take [H8800]   H1732 David H7200 : and when they saw [H8799]   H3862 the company H5030 of the prophets H5012 prophesying [H8737]   H8050 , and Samuel H5975 standing [H8802]   H5324 as appointed [H8737]   H7307 over them, the Spirit H430 of God H4397 was upon the messengers H7586 of Saul H5012 , and they also prophesied [H8691]  .
H5046 And when it was told [H8686]   H7586 Saul H7971 , he sent [H8799]   H312 other H4397 messengers H5012 , and they prophesied [H8691]   H7586 likewise. And Saul H7971 sent [H8799]   H4397 messengers H3254 again [H8686]   H7992 the third H5012 time, and they prophesied [H8691]   also.
H3212 Then went [H8799]   H7414 he also to Ramah H935 , and came [H8799]   H1419 to a great H953 well H7906 that is in Sechu H7592 : and he asked [H8799]   H559 and said [H8799]   H375 , Where H8050 are Samuel H1732 and David H559 ? And one said [H8799]   H5121 , Behold, they be at Naioth H7414 in Ramah.
H3212 And he went [H8799]   H5121 thither to Naioth H7414 in Ramah H7307 : and the Spirit H430 of God H3212 was upon him also, and he went [H8799]   H1980 on [H8800]   H5012 , and prophesied [H8691]   H935 , until he came [H8800]   H5121 to Naioth H7414 in Ramah.
H6584 And he stripped off [H8799]   H899 his clothes H1571 also H5012 , and prophesied [H8691]   H6440 before H8050 Samuel H5307 in like manner, and lay down [H8799]   H6174 naked H3117 all that day H3915 and all that night H559 . Wherefore they say [H8799]   H7586 , Is Saul H5030 also among the prophets?
ERV(i) 1 And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should slay David. But Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David. 2 And Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to slay thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself in the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself: 3 and I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and if I see aught, I will tell thee. 4 And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good: 5 for he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great victory for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause? 6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be put to death. 7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as beforetime. 8 And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him. 9 And an evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David played with his hand. 10 And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the spear into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night. 11 And Saul sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to-night, tomorrow thou shalt be slain. 12 So Michal let David down through the window: and he went, and fled, and escaped; 13 And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ [hair] at the head thereof, and covered it with the clothes. 14 And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick. 15 And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him. 16 And when the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats’ [hair] at the head thereof. 17 And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me thus, and let mine enemy go, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee? 18 Now David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth. 19 And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah. 20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied; 21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied. 22 Then went he also to Ramah, and came to the great well that is in Secu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah. 23 And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah. 24 And he also stripped off his clothes, and he also prophesied before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
