1 Samuel 6

  1 H1961 ויהי was H727 ארון And the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD H7704 בשׂדה in the country H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H7651 שׁבעה seven H2320 חדשׁים׃ months.
  2 H7121 ויקראו called H6430 פלשׁתים And the Philistines H3548 לכהנים for the priests H7080 ולקסמים and the diviners, H559 לאמר saying, H4100 מה What H6213 נעשׂה shall we do H727 לארון to the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD? H3045 הודענו tell H4100 במה us wherewith H7971 נשׁלחנו we shall send H4725 למקומו׃ it to his place.
  3 H559 ויאמרו And they said, H518 אם If H7971 משׁלחים ye send away H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H408 אל it not H7971 תשׁלחו send H853 אתו   H7387 ריקם empty; H3588 כי but H7725 השׁב in any wise return H7725 תשׁיבו in any wise return H817 לו אשׁם him a trespass offering: H227 אז then H7495 תרפאו ye shall be healed, H3045 ונודע and it shall be known H4100 לכם למה to you why H3808 לא is not H5493 תסור removed H3027 ידו his hand H4480 מכם׃ from
  4 H559 ויאמרו Then said H4100 מה they, What H817 האשׁם the trespass offering H834 אשׁר which H7725 נשׁיב we shall return H559 לו ויאמרו to him? They answered, H4557 מספר the number H5633 סרני of the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines: H2568 חמשׁה Five H6076 עפלי emerods, H2091 זהב golden H2568 וחמשׁה and five H5909 עכברי mice, H2091 זהב golden H3588 כי for H4046 מגפה plague H259 אחת one H3605 לכלם on you all, H5633 ולסרניכם׃ and on your lords.
  5 H6213 ועשׂיתם Wherefore ye shall make H6754 צלמי images H6076 עפליכם of your emerods, H6754 וצלמי and images H5909 עכבריכם of your mice H7843 המשׁחיתם that mar H853 את   H776 הארץ the land; H5414 ונתתם and ye shall give H430 לאלהי unto the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H3519 כבוד glory H194 אולי peradventure H7043 יקל he will lighten H853 את   H3027 ידו his hand H5921 מעליכם from off H5921 ומעל you, and from off H430 אלהיכם your gods, H5921 ומעל and from off H776 ארצכם׃ your land.
  6 H4100 ולמה Wherefore H3513 תכבדו then do ye harden H853 את   H3824 לבבכם your hearts, H834 כאשׁר as H3513 כבדו hardened H4713 מצרים   H6547 ופרעה and Pharaoh H853 את   H3820 לבם their hearts? H3808 הלוא among them, did they not H834 כאשׁר when H5953 התעלל he had wrought wonderfully H7971 בהם וישׁלחום let the people go, H1980 וילכו׃ and they departed?
  7 H6258 ועתה Now H3947 קחו and take H6213 ועשׂו therefore make H5699 עגלה cart, H2319 חדשׁה new H259 אחת a H8147 ושׁתי two H6510 פרות kine, H5763 עלות milch H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא no H5927 עלה there hath come H5921 עליהם on H5923 על yoke, H631 ואסרתם and tie H853 את   H6510 הפרות the kine H5699 בעגלה to the cart, H7725 והשׁיבתם and bring H1121 בניהם their calves H310 מאחריהם from H1004 הביתה׃ home
  8 H3947 ולקחתם And take H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5414 ונתתם and lay H853 אתו   H413 אל it upon H5699 העגלה the cart; H853 ואת   H3627 כלי the jewels H2091 הזהב of gold, H834 אשׁר which H7725 השׁבתם ye return H817 לו אשׁם him a trespass offering, H7760 תשׂימו and put H712 בארגז in a coffer H6654 מצדו by the side H7971 ושׁלחתם   H853 אתו   H1980 והלך׃ that it may go.
  9 H7200 וראיתם And see, H518 אם if H1870 דרך by the way H1366 גבולו of his own coast H5927 יעלה it goeth up H1053 בית שׁמשׁ to Beth-shemesh, H1931 הוא he H6213 עשׂה hath done H853 לנו את   H7451 הרעה evil: H1419 הגדולה great H2063 הזאת us this H518 ואם but if H3808 לא not, H3045 וידענו then we shall know H3588 כי that H3808 לא not H3027 ידו his hand H5060 נגעה smote H4745 בנו מקרה a chance H1931 הוא us: it H1961 היה׃ happened
  10 H6213 ויעשׂו did H376 האנשׁים And the men H3651 כן so; H3947 ויקחו and took H8147 שׁתי two H6510 פרות kine, H5763 עלות milch H631 ויאסרום and tied H5699 בעגלה them to the cart, H853 ואת   H1121 בניהם their calves H3607 כלו and shut up H1004 בבית׃ at home:
  11 H7760 וישׂמו And they laid H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אל upon H5699 העגלה the cart, H853 ואת   H712 הארגז and the coffer H853 ואת   H5909 עכברי the mice H2091 הזהב of gold H853 ואת   H6754 צלמי and the images H2914 טחריהם׃ of their emerods.
  12 H3474 וישׁרנה took the straight H6510 הפרות And the kine H1870 בדרך way H5921 על to H1870 דרך the way H1053 בית שׁמשׁ of Beth-shemesh, H4546 במסלה highway, H259 אחת the H1980 הלכו went along H1980 הלך as they went, H1600 וגעו lowing H3808 ולא and turned not aside H5493 סרו and turned not aside H3225 ימין the right hand H8040 ושׂמאול or the left; H5633 וסרני and the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H1980 הלכים went H310 אחריהם after H5704 עד them unto H1366 גבול the border H1053 בית שׁמשׁ׃ of Beth-shemesh.
  13 H1053 ובית שׁמשׁ And Beth-shemesh H7114 קצרים reaping H7105 קציר harvest H2406 חטים their wheat H6010 בעמק in the valley: H5375 וישׂאו and they lifted up H853 את   H5869 עיניהם their eyes, H7200 ויראו and saw H853 את   H727 הארון the ark, H8055 וישׂמחו and rejoiced H7200 לראות׃ to see
  14 H5699 והעגלה And the cart H935 באה came H413 אל into H7704 שׂדה the field H3091 יהושׁע of Joshua, H1030 בית השׁמשׁי a Beth-shemite, H5975 ותעמד and stood H8033 שׁם there, H8033 ושׁם where H68 אבן stone: H1419 גדולה a great H1234 ויבקעו and they cleaved H853 את   H6086 עצי the wood H5699 העגלה of the cart, H853 ואת   H6510 הפרות the kine H5927 העלו and offered H5930 עלה a burnt offering H3068 ליהוה׃ unto the LORD.
  15 H3881 והלוים And the Levites H3381 הורידו took down H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H853 ואת   H712 הארגז and the coffer H834 אשׁר that H854 אתו with H834 אשׁר it, wherein H3627 בו כלי the jewels H2091 זהב of gold H7760 וישׂמו and put H413 אל on H68 האבן stone: H1419 הגדולה the great H376 ואנשׁי and the men H1053 בית שׁמשׁ of Beth-shemesh H5927 העלו offered H5930 עלות burnt offerings H2076 ויזבחו and sacrificed H2077 זבחים sacrifices H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא the same H3068 ליהוה׃ unto the LORD.
  16 H2568 וחמשׁה And when the five H5633 סרני lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H7200 ראו had seen H7725 וישׁבו they returned H6138 עקרון to Ekron H3117 ביום day. H1931 ההוא׃ the same
  17 H428 ואלה And these H2914 טחרי emerods H2091 הזהב the golden H834 אשׁר which H7725 השׁיבו returned H6430 פלשׁתים the Philistines H817 אשׁם a trespass offering H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD; H795 לאשׁדוד for Ashdod H259 אחד one, H5804 לעזה for Gaza H259 אחד one, H831 לאשׁקלון for Askelon H259 אחד one, H1661 לגת for Gath H259 אחד one, H6138 לעקרון for Ekron H259 אחד׃ one;
  18 H5909 ועכברי mice, H2091 הזהב And the golden H4557 מספר the number H3605 כל of all H5892 ערי the cities H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H2568 לחמשׁת to the five H5633 הסרנים lords, H5892 מעיר   H4013 מבצר   H5704 ועד and of H3724 כפר villages, H6521 הפרזי country H5704 ועד even unto H59 אבל Abel, H1419 הגדולה the great H834 אשׁר whereon H3240 הניחו   H5921 עליה whereon H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD: H5704 עד unto H3117 היום day H2088 הזה this H7704 בשׂדה in the field H3091 יהושׁע of Joshua, H1030 בית השׁמשׁי׃ the Beth-shemite.
  19 H5221 ויך And he smote H582 באנשׁי   H1053 בית שׁמשׁ of Beth-shemesh, H3588 כי because H7200 ראו they had looked H727 בארון into the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5221 ויך even he smote H5971 בעם of the people H7657 שׁבעים and threescore and ten H376 אישׁ the men H2572 חמשׁים fifty H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men: H56 ויתאבלו lamented, H5971 העם and the people H3588 כי because H5221 הכה had smitten H3068 יהוה the LORD H5971 בעם of the people H4347 מכה slaughter.   20 H559 ויאמרו said, H376 אנשׁי And the men H1053 בית שׁמשׁ of Beth-shemesh H4310 מי Who H3201 יוכל is able H5975 לעמד to stand H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה LORD H430 האלהים God? H6918 הקדושׁ holy H2088 הזה this H413 ואל and to H4310 מי whom H5927 יעלה shall he go up H5921 מעלינו׃ from
  21 H7971 וישׁלחו And they sent H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל to H3427 יושׁבי the inhabitants H7157 קרית יערים of Kirjath-jearim, H559 לאמר saying, H7725 השׁבו have brought again H6430 פלשׁתים The Philistines H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD; H3381 רדו come ye down, H5927 העלו   H853 אתו   H413 אליכם׃ to
