  2 H6430 And the Philistines H7121 [H8799] called H3548 for the priests H7080 [H8802] and the diviners, H559 [H8800] saying, H6213 [H8799] What shall we do H727 to the ark H3068 of the LORD? H3045 [H8685] tell H7971 [H8762] us how we shall send H4725 it to its place.
  3 H559 [H8799] And they said, H7971 [H8764] If ye send away H727 the ark H430 of the God H3478 of Israel, H7971 [H8762] send H7387 it not empty; H7725 [H8687] but by all means H7725 [H8686] return H817 him a guilt offering: H7495 [H8735] then ye shall be healed, H3045 [H8738] and it shall be known H3027 to you why his hand H5493 [H8799] is not removed from you.
  4 H559 [H8799] Then said H817 they, What shall be the guilt offering H7725 [H8686] which we shall return H559 [H8799] to him? They answered, H2568 Five H2091 golden H2914 H6076 [H8675] haemorrhoids, H2568 and five H2091 golden H5909 mice, H4557 according to the number H5633 of the lords H6430 of the Philistines: H259 for one H4046 plague H5633 was on you all, and on your lords.
  5 H6213 [H8804] Therefore ye shall make H6754 images H2914 H6076 [H8675] of your haemorrhoids, H6754 and images H5909 of your mice H7843 [H8688] that decay H776 the land; H5414 [H8804] and ye shall give H3519 glory H430 to the God H3478 of Israel: H7043 [H8686] perhaps he will lighten H3027 his hand H430 from off you, and from off your gods, H776 and from off your land.
  6 H3513 [H8762] Why then do ye harden H3824 your hearts, H4714 as the Egyptians H6547 and Pharaoh H3513 [H8765] hardened H3820 their hearts? H5953 [H8694] when he had wrought wonderfully H7971 [H8762] among them, did they not let the people go, H3212 [H8799] and they departed?
  7 H6213 [H8798] Now therefore make H259 a H2319 new H5699 cart, H3947 [H8798] and take H8147 two H5763 [H8802] milk H6510 cows, H5927 [H8804] on which there hath come H5923 no yoke, H631 [H8804] and tie H6510 the cows H5699 to the cart, H7725 [H8689] and bring H1121 their calves H1004 home H310 from them:
  8 H3947 [H8804] And take H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD, H5414 [H8804] and lay H5699 it upon the cart; H7760 [H8799] and put H3627 the jewels H2091 of gold, H7725 [H8689] which ye return H817 to him for a guilt offering, H712 in a box H6654 by its side; H7971 [H8765] and send it away, H1980 [H8804] that it may go.
  9 H7200 [H8804] And see, H5927 [H8799] if it goeth up H1870 by the way H1366 of its own land H1053 to Bethshemesh, H6213 [H8804] then he hath done H1419 us this great H7451 evil: H3045 [H8804] but if not, then we shall know H3027 that it is not his hand H5060 [H8804] that smote H4745 us: it was a chance H1961 [H8804] that happened to us.
  10 H582 And the men H6213 [H8799] did so; H3947 [H8799] and took H8147 two H5763 [H8802] milk H6510 cows, H631 [H8799] and tied H5699 them to the cart, H3607 [H8804] and shut up H1121 their calves H1004 at home:
  11 H7760 [H8799] And they laid H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD H5699 upon the cart, H712 and the box H5909 with the mice H2091 of gold H6754 and the images H2914 of their haemorrhoids.
  12 H6510 And the cows H3474 [H8799] took the straight H1870 way H1870 to the way H1053 of Bethshemesh, H1980 [H8804] and went along H4546 H259 the highway, H1600 [H8800] lowing H1980 [H8800] as they went, H5493 [H8804] and turned not aside H3225 to the right hand H8040 or to the left; H5633 and the lords H6430 of the Philistines H1980 [H8802] went H310 after H1366 them to the border H1053 of Bethshemesh.
  13 H1053 And they of Bethshemesh H7114 [H8802] were reaping H2406 their wheat H7105 harvest H6010 in the valley: H5375 [H8799] and they lifted up H5869 their eyes, H7200 [H8799] and saw H727 the ark, H8055 [H8799] and rejoiced H7200 [H8800] to see it.
  14 H5699 And the cart H935 [H8802] came H7704 into the field H3091 of Joshua, H1030 a Bethshemite, H5975 [H8799] and stood H1419 there, where there was a great H68 stone: H1234 [H8762] and they cut up H6086 the wood H5699 of the cart, H5927 [H8689] and offered H6510 the cows H5930 as a burnt offering H3068 to the LORD.
  15 H3881 And the Levites H3381 [H8689] took down H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD, H712 and the box H3627 that was with it, in which were the jewels H2091 of gold, H7760 [H8799] and put H1419 them on the great H68 stone: H582 and the men H1053 of Bethshemesh H5927 [H8689] offered H5930 burnt offerings H2076 [H8799] and sacrificed H2077 sacrifices H3117 the same day H3068 to the LORD.
  16 H2568 And when the five H5633 lords H6430 of the Philistines H7200 [H8804] had seen H7725 [H8799] it, they returned H6138 to Ekron H3117 the same day.
  17 H2091 And these are the golden H2914 haemorrhoids H6430 which the Philistines H7725 [H8689] returned H817 for a guilt offering H3068 to the LORD; H795 for Ashdod H259 one, H5804 for Gaza H259 one, H831 for Askelon H259 one, H1661 for Gath H259 one, H6138 for Ekron H259 one;
  18 H2091 And the golden H5909 mice, H4557 according to the number H5892 of all the cities H6430 of the Philistines H2568 belonging to the five H5633 lords, H4013 both of fortified H5892 cities, H6521 and of country H3724 villages, H1419 even to the great H59 stone of Abel, H3240 [H8689] on which they set down H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD: H3117 which stone remaineth to this day H7704 in the field H3091 of Joshua, H1030 the Bethshemite.
  19 H5221 [H8686] And he smote H376 the men H1053 of Bethshemesh, H7200 [H8804] because they had looked H727 into the ark H3068 of the LORD, H5221 [H8686] even he smote H5971 of the people H2572 fifty H505 thousand H7657 and seventy H582 men: H5971 and the people H56 [H8691] lamented, H3068 because the LORD H5221 [H8689] had smitten H5971 many of the people H1419 with a great H4347 slaughter.
  20 H582 And the men H1053 of Bethshemesh H559 [H8799] said, H3201 [H8799] Who is able H5975 [H8800] to stand H6440 at the face of H6918 this holy H3068 LORD H430 God? H5927 [H8799] and to whom shall he go up from us?
  21 H7971 [H8799] And they sent H4397 messengers H3427 [H8802] to the inhabitants H7157 of Kirjathjearim, H559 [H8800] saying, H6430 The Philistines H7725 [H8689] have brought again H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD; H3381 [H8798] come ye down, H5927 [H8685] and bring it up to you.
