1 Samuel 7

  1 H935 ויבאו came, H376 אנשׁי And the men H7157 קרית יערים of Kirjath-jearim H5927 ויעלו and fetched up H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H935 ויבאו and brought H853 אתו   H413 אל it into H1004 בית the house H41 אבינדב of Abinadab H1389 בגבעה in the hill, H853 ואת   H499 אלעזר Eleazar H1121 בנו his son H6942 קדשׁו and sanctified H8104 לשׁמר to keep H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.
  2 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H3117 מיום while H3427 שׁבת abode H727 הארון the ark H7157 בקרית יערים in Kirjath-jearim, H7235 וירבו was long; H3117 הימים that the time H1961 ויהיו for it was H6242 עשׂרים twenty H8141 שׁנה years: H5091 וינהו lamented H3605 כל and all H1004 בית the house H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H310 אחרי after H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  3 H559 ויאמר spoke H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H413 אל unto H3605 כל all H1004 בית the house H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 לאמר saying, H518 אם If H3605 בכל with all H3824 לבבכם your hearts, H859 אתם ye H7725 שׁבים do return H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD H5493 הסירו put away H853 את   H430 אלהי gods H5236 הנכר the strange H8432 מתוככם from among H6252 והעשׁתרות and Ashtaroth H3559 והכינו you, and prepare H3824 לבבכם your hearts H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5647 ועבדהו and serve H905 לבדו him only: H5337 ויצל and he will deliver H853 אתכם   H3027 מיד you out of the hand H6430 פלשׁתים׃ of the Philistines.
  4 H5493 ויסירו did put away H1121 בני Then the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את   H1168 הבעלים Baalim H853 ואת   H6252 העשׁתרת and Ashtaroth, H5647 ויעבדו and served H853 את   H3068 יהוה the LORD H905 לבדו׃ only.
  5 H559 ויאמר said, H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H6908 קבצו Gather H853 את   H3605 כל all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H4709 המצפתה to Mizpeh, H6419 ואתפלל and I will pray H1157 בעדכם for H413 אל you unto H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  6 H6908 ויקבצו And they gathered together H4709 המצפתה to Mizpeh, H7579 וישׁאבו and drew H4325 מים water, H8210 וישׁפכו and poured out H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H6684 ויצומו and fasted H3117 ביום day, H1931 ההוא on that H559 ויאמרו and said H8033 שׁם there, H2398 חטאנו We have sinned H3068 ליהוה against the LORD. H8199 וישׁפט judged H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H853 את   H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4709 במצפה׃ in Mizpeh.
  7 H8085 וישׁמעו heard H6430 פלשׁתים And when the Philistines H3588 כי that H6908 התקבצו were gathered together H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4709 המצפתה to Mizpeh, H5927 ויעלו went up H5633 סרני the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H413 אל against H3478 ישׂראל Israel. H8085 וישׁמעו heard H1121 בני And when the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3372 ויראו they were afraid H6440 מפני of H6430 פלשׁתים׃ the Philistines.
  8 H559 ויאמרו said H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל to H8050 שׁמואל Samuel, H408 אל not H2790 תחרשׁ Cease H4480 ממנו to cry H2199 מזעק to cry H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהינו our God H3467 וישׁענו us, that he will save H3027 מיד us out of the hand H6430 פלשׁתים׃ of the Philistines.
  9 H3947 ויקח took H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H2924 טלה lamb, H2461 חלב sucking H259 אחד a H5927 ויעלה and offered H5930 עולה a burnt offering H3632 כליל wholly H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD: H2199 ויזעק cried H8050 שׁמואל and Samuel H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD H1157 בעד for H3478 ישׂראל Israel; H6030 ויענהו heard H3068 יהוה׃ and the LORD
  10 H1961 ויהי was H8050 שׁמואל And as Samuel H5927 מעלה offering up H5930 העולה the burnt offering, H6430 ופלשׁתים the Philistines H5066 נגשׁו drew near H4421 למלחמה to battle H3478 בישׂראל against Israel: H7481 וירעם thundered H3068 יהוה but the LORD H6963 בקול thunder H1419 גדול with a great H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא on that H5921 על upon H6430 פלשׁתים the Philistines, H2000 ויהמם and discomfited H5062 וינגפו them; and they were smitten H6440 לפני before H3478 ישׂראל׃ Israel.
  11 H3318 ויצאו went out H582 אנשׁי   H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4480 מן of H4709 המצפה Mizpeh, H7291 וירדפו and pursued H853 את   H6430 פלשׁתים the Philistines, H5221 ויכום and smote H5704 עד them, until H8478 מתחת under H1033 לבית כר׃ Beth-car.
  12 H3947 ויקח took H8050 שׁמואל Then Samuel H68 אבן stone, H259 אחת a H7760 וישׂם and set H996 בין between H4709 המצפה Mizpeh H996 ובין   H8129 השׁן and Shen, H7121 ויקרא and called H853 את   H8034 שׁמה the name H72 אבן העזר of it Ebenezer, H559 ויאמר saying, H5704 עד   H2008 הנה   H5826 עזרנו helped H3068 יהוה׃ hath the LORD
  13 H3665 ויכנעו were subdued, H6430 הפלשׁתים So the Philistines H3808 ולא no H3254 יספו more H5750 עוד more H935 לבוא and they came H1366 בגבול into the coast H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H1961 ותהי was H3027 יד and the hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD H6430 בפלשׁתים against the Philistines H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H8050 שׁמואל׃ of Samuel.
  14 H7725 ותשׁבנה were restored H5892 הערים And the cities H834 אשׁר which H3947 לקחו had taken H6430 פלשׁתים the Philistines H853 מאת   H3478 ישׂראל Israel H3478 לישׂראל to Israel, H6138 מעקרון   H5704 ועד even unto H1661 גת Gath; H853 ואת   H1366 גבולן and the coasts H5337 הציל deliver H3478 ישׂראל thereof did Israel H3027 מיד out of the hands H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines. H1961 ויהי And there was H7965 שׁלום peace H996 בין between H3478 ישׂראל Israel H996 ובין   H567 האמרי׃ and the Amorites.
  15 H8199 וישׁפט judged H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל Israel H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H2416 חייו׃ of his life.
  16 H1980 והלך And he went H1767 מדי from H8141 שׁנה year H8141 בשׁנה to year H5437 וסבב in circuit H1008 בית אל to Bethel, H1537 והגלגל and Gilgal, H4709 והמצפה and Mizpeh, H8199 ושׁפט and judged H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל Israel H853 את   H3605 כל all H4725 המקומות places. H428 האלה׃ those
  17 H8666 ותשׁבתו And his return H7414 הרמתה to Ramah; H3588 כי for H8033 שׁם there H1004 ביתו his house; H8033 ושׁם and there H8199 שׁפט he judged H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל Israel; H1129 ויבן he built H8033 שׁם and there H4196 מזבח an altar H3068 ליהוה׃ unto the LORD.
