1 Samuel 7 And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and brought up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

1 H582 And the men H7157 of Kirjathjearim H935 [H8799] came, H5927 [H8686] and brought up H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD, H935 [H8686] and brought H1004 it into the house H41 of Abinadab H1389 on the hill, H6942 [H8765] and sanctified H499 Eleazar H1121 his son H8104 [H8800] to keep H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD.

2 H3117 And it came to pass, while H727 the ark H3427 [H8800] abode H7157 in Kirjathjearim, H3117 that the time H7235 [H8799] was long; H6242 for it was twenty H8141 years: H1004 and all the house H3478 of Israel H5091 [H8735] lamented H310 after H3068 the LORD.

3 H8050 And Samuel H559 [H8799] spoke H1004 to all the house H3478 of Israel, H559 [H8800] saying, H7725 [H8802] If ye do return H3068 to the LORD H3824 with all your hearts, H5493 [H8685] then put away H5236 the foreign H430 gods H6252 and Ashtaroth H8432 from among H3559 [H8685] you, and prepare H3824 your hearts H3068 to the LORD, H5647 [H8798] and serve H5337 [H8686] him only: and he will deliver H3027 you from the hand H6430 of the Philistines.

4 H1121 Then the sons H3478 of Israel H5493 [H8686] put away H1168 Baalim H6252 and Ashtaroth, H5647 [H8799] and served H3068 the LORD only.

5 H8050 And Samuel H559 [H8799] said, H6908 [H8798] Gather H3478 all Israel H4708 to Mizpeh, H6419 [H8691] and I will pray H3068 for you to the LORD.

6 H6908 [H8735] And they gathered together H4709 at Mizpeh, H7579 [H8799] and drew H4325 water, H8210 [H8799] and poured it out H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD, H6684 [H8799] and fasted H3117 on that day, H559 [H8799] and there said, H2398 [H8804] We have sinned H3068 against the LORD. H8050 And Samuel H8199 [H8799] judged H1121 the sons H3478 of Israel H4708 in Mizpeh.

7 H6430 And when the Philistines H8085 [H8799] heard H1121 that the sons H3478 of Israel H6908 [H8694] were gathered together H4708 at Mizpeh, H5633 the lords H6430 of the Philistines H5927 [H8799] went up H3478 against Israel. H1121 And when the sons H3478 of Israel H8085 [H8799] heard H3372 [H8799] it, they were afraid H6440 of H6430 the Philistines.

8 H1121 And the sons H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H8050 to Samuel, H2790 [H8686] Cease H2199 [H8800] not to cry H3068 to the LORD H430 our God H3467 [H8686] for us, that he will liberate H3027 us from the hand H6430 of the Philistines.

9 H8050 And Samuel H3947 [H8799] took H259 a H2461 sucking H2924 lamb, H5927 [H8686] and offered H5930 it for a burnt offering H3632 wholly H3068 to the LORD: H8050 and Samuel H2199 [H8799] cried H3068 to the LORD H3478 for Israel; H3068 and the LORD H6030 [H8799] heard him.

10 H8050 And as Samuel H5927 [H8688] was offering H5930 the burnt offering, H6430 the Philistines H5066 [H8738] drew near H4421 to battle H3478 against Israel: H3068 but the LORD H7481 [H8686] thundered H1419 with a great H6963 thunder H3117 on that day H6430 upon the Philistines, H2000 [H8799] and smote H5062 [H8735] them; and they were smitten H6440 at the face of H3478 Israel.

11 H582 And the men H3478 of Israel H3318 [H8799] went out H4709 of Mizpeh, H7291 [H8799] and pursued H6430 the Philistines, H5221 [H8686] and smote H1033 them, until they came under Bethcar.

12 H8050 Then Samuel H3947 [H8799] took H259 a H68 stone, H7760 [H8799] and set H4709 it between Mizpeh H8129 and Shen, H7121 [H8799] and called H8034 the name H72 of it Ebenezer, H559 [H8799] saying, H3068 Thus far hath the LORD H5826 [H8804] helped us.

13 H6430 So the Philistines H3665 [H8735] were subdued, H935 [H8800] and they came H3254 [H8804] no more H1366 into the land H3478 of Israel: H3027 and the hand H3068 of the LORD H6430 was against the Philistines H3117 all the days H8050 of Samuel.

14 H5892 And the cities H6430 which the Philistines H3947 [H8804] had taken H3478 from Israel H7725 [H8799] were restored H3478 to Israel, H6138 from Ekron H1661 even to Gath; H1366 and its land H3478 did Israel H5337 [H8689] deliver H3027 from the hands H6430 of the Philistines. H7965 And there was peace H3478 between Israel H567 and the Amorites.

15 H8050 And Samuel H8199 [H8799] judged H3478 Israel H3117 all the days H2416 of his life.

16 H1980 [H8804] And he went H1767 from H8141 year H8141 to year H5437 [H8804] in circuit H1008 to Bethel, H1537 and Gilgal, H4709 and Mizpeh, H8199 [H8804] and judged H3478 Israel H4725 in all those places.

17 H8666 And his return H7414 was to Ramah; H1004 for there was his house; H8199 [H8804] and there he judged H3478 Israel; H1129 [H8799] and there he built H4196 an altar H3068 to the LORD.
