3 H7925 וישׁכמו arose early H796 אשׁדודים H4283 ממחרת on the morrow, H2009 והנה behold, H1712 דגון Dagon H5307 נפל fallen H6440 לפניו upon his face H776 ארצה to the earth H6440 לפני before H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD. H3947 ויקחו And they took H853 את H1712 דגון Dagon, H7725 וישׁבו and set H853 אתו H4725 למקומו׃ him in his place

4 H7925 וישׁכמו And when they arose early H1242 בבקר morning, H4283 ממחרת on the morrow H2009 והנה behold, H1712 דגון Dagon H5307 נפל fallen H6440 לפניו upon his face H776 ארצה to the ground H6440 לפני before H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD; H7218 וראשׁ and the head H1712 דגון of Dagon H8147 ושׁתי and both H3709 כפות the palms H3027 ידיו of his hands H3772 כרתות cut off H413 אל upon H4670 המפתן the threshold; H7535 רק only H1712 דגון Dagon H7604 נשׁאר was left H5921 עליו׃ to

6 H3513 ותכבד was heavy H3027 יד But the hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אל upon H796 האשׁדודים H8074 וישׁמם and he destroyed H5221 ויך them, and smote H853 אתם H6076 בעפלים them with emerods, H853 את H795 אשׁדוד them of Ashdod, H853 ואת H1366 גבוליה׃ and the coasts

7 H7200 ויראו saw H582 אנשׁי H795 אשׁדוד of Ashdod H3588 כי that H3651 כן so, H559 ואמרו they said, H3808 לא shall not H3427 ישׁב abide H727 ארון The ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5973 עמנו with H3588 כי us: for H7185 קשׁתה is sore H3027 ידו his hand H5921 עלינו upon H5921 ועל us, and upon H1712 דגון Dagon H430 אלהינו׃ our god.

8 H7971 וישׁלחו They sent H622 ויאספו therefore and gathered H853 את H3605 כל all H5633 סרני the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H413 אליהם unto H559 ויאמרו them, and said, H4100 מה What H6213 נעשׂה shall we do H727 לארון with the ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel? H559 ויאמרו And they answered, H1661 גת unto Gath. H5437 יסב be carried about H727 ארון Let the ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5437 ויסבו And they carried H853 את H727 ארון the ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel

9 H1961 ויהי And it was H310 אחרי that, after H5437 הסבו H853 אתו H1961 ותהי was H3027 יד the hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5892 בעיר against the city H4103 מהומה destruction: H1419 גדולה great H3966 מאד with a very H5221 ויך and he smote H853 את H376 אנשׁי the men H5892 העיר of the city, H6996 מקטן both small H5704 ועד H1419 גדול and great, H8368 וישׂתרו in their secret parts. 10 H7971 וישׁלחו Therefore they sent H853 את H727 ארון the ark H430 האלהים of God H6138 עקרון to Ekron. H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H935 כבוא came H727 ארון as the ark H430 האלהים of God H6138 עקרון to Ekron, H2199 ויזעקו cried out, H6139 העקרנים that the Ekronites H559 לאמר saying, H5437 הסבו They have brought about H413 אלי to H853 את H727 ארון the ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4191 להמיתני us, to slay H853 ואת H5971 עמי׃ us and our people.

11 H7971 וישׁלחו So they sent H622 ויאספו and gathered together H853 את H3605 כל all H5633 סרני the lords H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines, H559 ויאמרו and said, H7971 שׁלחו Send away H853 את H727 ארון the ark H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H7725 וישׁב and let it go again H4725 למקמו to his own place, H3808 ולא us not, H4191 ימית that it slay H853 אתי H853 ואת H5971 עמי and our people: H3588 כי for H1961 היתה there was H4103 מהומת destruction H4194 מות a deadly H3605 בכל throughout all H5892 העיר the city; H3513 כבדה heavy H3966 מאד was very H3027 יד the hand H430 האלהים of God H8033 שׁם׃ there.

12 H376 והאנשׁים And the men H834 אשׁר that H3808 לא not H4191 מתו died H5221 הכו were smitten H6076 בעפלים with the emerods: H5927 ותעל went up H7775 שׁועת and the cry H5892 העיר of the city H8064 השׁמים׃ to heaven.
