2 Kings 7 Then Elisha said, Hear you the word of the LORD; Thus said the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

2 H7991 Then a lord H5921 on H834 whose H3027 hand H4428 the king H8172 leaned H6030 answered H376 the man H430 of God, H559 and said, H2009 Behold, H3068 if the LORD H6213 would make H699 windows H8064 in heaven, H2088 might this H1697 thing H559 be? And he said, H2009 Behold, H7200 you shall see H5869 it with your eyes, H398 but shall not eat thereof.

3 H702 And there were four H6879 leprous H582 men H6607 at the entering H8179 in of the gate: H559 and they said H376 one H7453 to another, H4100 Why H3427 sit H6311 we here H5704 until H4191 we die?

4 H518 If H559 we say, H935 We will enter H5892 into the city, H7458 then the famine H5892 is in the city, H4191 and we shall die H8033 there: H518 and if H3427 we sit H6311 still here, H4191 we die H6258 also. Now H3212 therefore come, H5307 and let us fall H4264 to the host H758 of the Syrians: H518 if H2421 they save H2421 us alive, H2421 we shall live; H518 and if H4191 they kill H4191 us, we shall but die.

5 H6965 And they rose H5399 up in the twilight, H935 to go H4264 to the camp H758 of the Syrians: H935 and when they were come H7097 to the uttermost H4264 part of the camp H758 of Syria, H2009 behold, H369 there was no H376 man H8033 there.

6 H136 For the LORD H4264 had made the host H758 of the Syrians H8085 to hear H6963 a noise H7393 of chariots, H6963 and a noise H5483 of horses, H6963 even the noise H1419 of a great H2428 host: H559 and they said H376 one H251 to another, H2009 See, H4428 the king H3478 of Israel H7936 has hired H5921 against H4428 us the kings H2850 of the Hittites, H4428 and the kings H4714 of the Egyptians, H935 to come on us.

7 H6965 Why they arose H5127 and fled H5399 in the twilight, H5800 and left H168 their tents, H5483 and their horses, H2543 and their asses, H4264 even the camp H5127 as it was, and fled H5315 for their life.

8 H428 And when these H6879 lepers H935 came H7097 to the uttermost H4264 part of the camp, H935 they went H413 into H259 one H168 tent, H398 and did eat H8354 and drink, H5375 and carried H8033 there H3701 silver, H2091 and gold, H899 and raiment, H935 and went H2934 and hid H7725 it; and came H7725 again, H935 and entered H413 into H312 another H168 tent, H5375 and carried H8033 there H3212 also, and went H2934 and hid it.

9 H559 Then they said H376 one H7453 to another, H6213 We do H3651 not well: H1931 this H3117 day H3117 is a day H1309 of good tidings, H2814 and we hold H2814 our peace: H2442 if we tarry H5704 till H1242 the morning H216 light, H5771 some mischief H4672 will come H6258 on us: now H3212 therefore come, H935 that we may go H5046 and tell H4428 the king’s H1004 household.

10 H935 So they came H7121 and called H7778 to the porter H5892 of the city: H5046 and they told H559 them, saying, H935 We came H4264 to the camp H758 of the Syrians, H2009 and, behold, H369 there was no H376 man H8033 there, H369 neither H6963 voice H120 of man, H5483 but horses H631 tied, H2543 and asses H631 tied, H168 and the tents as they were.

11 H7121 And he called H7778 the porters; H5046 and they told H4428 it to the king’s H1004 house H6441 within.

12 H4428 And the king H6965 arose H3915 in the night, H559 and said H5650 to his servants, H4994 I will now H5046 show H853 you what H834 H758 the Syrians H6213 have done H3045 to us. They know H7456 that we be hungry; H3318 therefore are they gone H4264 out of the camp H2247 to hide H7704 themselves in the field, H559 saying, H3588 When H3318 they come H5892 out of the city, H8610 we shall catch H2416 them alive, H935 and get H413 into the city.

13 H259 And one H5650 of his servants H6030 answered H559 and said, H3947 Let some take, H4994 I pray H2568 you, five H5483 of the horses H7604 that remain, H834 which H7604 are left H5892 in the city, H2009 (behold, H3605 they are as all H1995 the multitude H3478 of Israel H7604 that are left H2009 in it: behold, H3605 I say, they are even as all H1995 the multitude H3478 of the Israelites H8552 that are consumed: H7971 ) and let us send H7200 and see.

14 H3947 They took H8147 therefore two H7393 chariot H5483 horses; H4428 and the king H7971 sent H310 after H4264 the host H758 of the Syrians, H559 saying, H3212 Go H7200 and see.

15 H3212 And they went H310 after H3383 them to Jordan: H2009 and, see, H3605 all H1870 the way H4392 was full H899 of garments H3627 and vessels, H834 which H758 the Syrians H7993 had cast H2648 away in their haste. H4397 And the messengers H7725 returned, H5046 and told H4428 the king.

16 H5971 And the people H3318 went H962 out, and spoiled H4264 the tents H758 of the Syrians. H5429 So a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 was sold for a shekel, H5429 and two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H1697 according to the word H3068 of the LORD.

17 H4428 And the king H6485 appointed H7991 the lord H5921 on H834 whose H3027 hand H8172 he leaned H5921 to have the charge H8179 of the gate: H5971 and the people H7429 stepped H8179 on him in the gate, H4191 and he died, H376 as the man H430 of God H1696 had said, H834 who H1696 spoke H4428 when the king H3381 came H3381 down to him.

18 H1961 And it came H376 to pass as the man H430 of God H1696 had spoken H4428 to the king, H559 saying, H5429 Two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H5429 and a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 for a shekel, H4279 shall be to morrow H6256 about this time H8179 in the gate H8111 of Samaria:

19 H7991 And that lord H6030 answered H376 the man H430 of God, H559 and said, H2009 Now, behold, H3068 if the LORD H6213 should make H699 windows H8064 in heaven, H2088 might such H1697 a thing H559 be? And he said, H2009 Behold, H7200 you shall see H5869 it with your eyes, H398 but shall not eat thereof.

20 H3651 And so H1961 it fell H5971 out to him: for the people H7429 stepped H8179 on him in the gate, H4191 and he died.
