H477 And Elisha H559 said, H8085 Hear H1697 ye the word H3068 of Jehovah: H559 thus saith H3068 Jehovah, H4279 To-morrow H6256 about this time H5429 shall a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 be sold for a shekel, H5429 and two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H8179 in the gate H8111 of Samaria.
H7991 Then the captain H3027 on whose hand H4428 the king H8172 leaned H6030 answered H376 the man H430 of God, H559 and said, H3068 Behold, if Jehovah H6213 should make H699 windows H8064 in heaven, H1697 might this thing H559 be? And he said, H7200 Behold, thou shalt see H5869 it with thine eyes, H398 but shalt not eat thereof.
H702 Now there were four H6879 leprous H582 men H6607 at the entrance H8179 of the gate: H559 and they said H376 one H7453 to another, H3427 Why sit H4191 we here until we die?
H559 If we say, H935 We will enter H5892 into the city, H7458 then the famine H5892 is in the city, H4191 and we shall die H3427 there; and if we sit still H4191 here, we die H3212 also. Now therefore come, H5307 and let us fall H4264 unto the host H758 of the Syrians: H2421 if they save us alive, H2421 we shall live; H4191 and if they kill H4191 us, we shall but die.
H6965 And they rose up H5399 in the twilight, H935 to go H4264 unto the camp H758 of the Syrians; H935 and when they were come H7097 to the outermost part H4264 of the camp H758 of the Syrians, H376 behold, there was no man there.
H136 For the Lord H4264 had made the host H758 of the Syrians H8085 to hear H6963 a noise H7393 of chariots, H6963 and a noise H5483 of horses, H6963 even the noise H1419 of a great H2428 host: H559 and they said H376 one H251 to another, H4428 Lo, the king H3478 of Israel H7936 hath hired H4428 against us the kings H2850 of the Hittites, H4428 and the kings H4714 of the Egyptians, H935 to come upon us.
H6965 Wherefore they arose H5127 and fled H5399 in the twilight, H5800 and left H168 their tents, H5483 and their horses, H2543 and their asses, H4264 even the camp H5127 as it was, and fled H5315 for their life.
H6879 And when these lepers H935 came H7097 to the outermost part H4264 of the camp, H935 they went H259 into one H168 tent, H398 and did eat H8354 and drink, H5375 and carried H3701 thence silver, H2091 and gold, H899 and raiment, H3212 and went H2934 and hid H7725 it; and they came back, H935 and entered H312 into another H168 tent, H5375 and carried H3212 thence also, and went H2934 and hid it.
H559 Then they said H376 one H7453 to another, H6213 We do H3117 not well; this day H3117 is a day H1309 of good tidings, H2814 and we hold our peace: H2442 if we tarry H1242 till the morning H216 light, H5771 punishment H4672 will overtake H4672 us; now therefore come, H3212 let us go H5046 and tell H4428 the king's H1004 household.
H935 So they came H7121 and called H7778 unto the porter H5892 of the city; H5046 and they told H559 them, saying, H935 We came H4264 to the camp H758 of the Syrians, H376 and, behold, there was no man H6963 there, neither voice H120 of man, H5483 but the horses H631 tied, H2543 and the asses H631 tied, H168 and the tents as they were.
H7121 And he called H7778 the porters; H5046 and they told H4428 it to the king's H1004 household H6441 within.
H4428 And the king H6965 arose H3915 in the night, H559 and said H5650 unto his servants, H5046 I will now show H758 you what the Syrians H6213 have done H3045 to us. They know H7457 that we are hungry; H3318 therefore are they gone out H4264 of the camp H2247 to hide H7704 themselves in the field, H559 saying, H3318 When they come out H5892 of the city, H8610 we shall take H2416 them alive, H935 and get H5892 into the city.
H259 And one H5650 of his servants H6030 answered H559 and said, H3947 Let some take, H2568 I pray thee, five H5483 of the horses H7604 that remain, H7604 which are left H1995 in the city (behold, they are as all the multitude H3478 of Israel H7604 that are left H1995 in it; behold, they are as all the multitude H3478 of Israel H8552 that are consumed); H7971 and let us send H7200 and see.
H3947 They took H8147 therefore two H7393 chariots H5483 with horses; H4428 and the king H7971 sent H310 after H4264 the host H758 of the Syrians, H559 saying, H3212 Go H7200 and see.
H3212 And they went H310 after H3383 them unto the Jordan: H1870 and, lo, all the way H4392 was full H899 of garments H3627 and vessels, H758 which the Syrians H7993 had cast away H2648 in their haste. H4397 And the messengers H7725 returned, H5046 and told H4428 the king.
H5971 And the people H3318 went out, H962 and plundered H4264 the camp H758 of the Syrians. H5429 So a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 was sold for a shekel, H5429 and two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H1697 according to the word H3068 of Jehovah.
H4428 And the king H6485 appointed H7991 the captain H3027 on whose hand H8172 he leaned H8179 to have the charge of the gate: H5971 and the people H7429 trod H8179 upon him in the gate, H4191 and he died H376 as the man H430 of God H1696 had said, H1696 who spake H4428 when the king H3381 came down to him.
H376 And it came to pass, as the man H430 of God H1696 had spoken H4428 to the king, H559 saying, H5429 Two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H5429 and a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 for a shekel, H4279 shall be to-morrow H6256 about this time H8179 in the gate H8111 of Samaria;
H7991 and that captain H6030 answered H376 the man H430 of God, H559 and said, H3068 Now, behold, if Jehovah H6213 should make H699 windows H8064 in heaven, H1697 might such a thing H559 be? and he said, H7200 Behold, thou shalt see H5869 it with thine eyes, H398 but shalt not eat thereof:
H5971 it came to pass even so unto him; for the people H7429 trod H8179 upon him in the gate, H4191 and he died.
