  2 H5650 Why his servants H559 said H1245 to him, Let there be sought H113 for my lord H4428 the king H5291 a young H1330 virgin: H5975 and let her stand H6440 before H4428 the king, H5532 and let her cherish H7901 him, and let her lie H2436 in your bosom, H113 that my lord H4428 the king H2552 may get heat.
  3 H1245 So they sought H3303 for a fair H5291 damsel H3605 throughout all H1366 the coasts H3478 of Israel, H4672 and found H49 Abishag H7767 a Shunammite, H935 and brought H4428 her to the king.
  4 H5291 And the damsel H3966 was very H3303 fair, H5532 and cherished H4428 the king, H8334 and ministered H4428 to him: but the king H3045 knew her not.
  5 H138 Then Adonijah H1121 the son H2294 of Haggith H5375 exalted H559 himself, saying, H4427 I will be king: H6213 and he prepared H7393 him chariots H6571 and horsemen, H2572 and fifty H376 men H7323 to run H6440 before him.
  6 H1 And his father H6087 had not displeased H3117 him at any time H559 in saying, H4069 Why H6213 have you done H3602 so? H1571 and he also H3966 was a very H2896 goodly H310 man; and his mother bore him after H53 Absalom.
  7 H1961 And he conferred H1697 H3097 with Joab H1121 the son H6870 of Zeruiah, H54 and with Abiathar H3548 the priest: H310 and they following H138 Adonijah H5826 helped him.
  8 H6659 But Zadok H3548 the priest, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3111 of Jehoiada, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet, H8096 and Shimei, H7472 and Rei, H1368 and the mighty H834 men which H1732 belonged to David, H138 were not with Adonijah.
  9 H138 And Adonijah H2076 slew H6629 sheep H1241 and oxen H4806 and fat H4806 cattle H68 by the stone H2120 of Zoheleth, H834 which H5883 is by Enrogel, H7121 and called H3605 all H251 his brothers H4428 the king’s H1121 sons, H3605 and all H582 the men H3063 of Judah H4428 the king’s H5650 servants:
  10 H5416 But Nathan H5030 the prophet, H1141 and Benaiah, H1368 and the mighty H8010 men, and Solomon H251 his brother, H7121 he called not.
  11 H5416 Why Nathan H559 spoke H1339 to Bathsheba H517 the mother H8010 of Solomon, H559 saying, H8085 Have you not heard H138 that Adonijah H1121 the son H2294 of Haggith H4427 does reign, H1732 and David H113 our lord H3045 knows it not?
  12 H6258 Now H3212 therefore come, H4994 let me, I pray H6098 you, give you counsel, H4422 that you may save H5315 your own life, H5315 and the life H1121 of your son H8010 Solomon.
  13 H3212 Go H935 and get H4428 you in to king H1732 David, H559 and say H113 to him, Did not you, my lord, H4428 O king, H7650 swear H519 to your handmaid, H559 saying, H3588 Assuredly H8010 Solomon H1121 your son H4427 shall reign H310 after H3427 me, and he shall sit H3678 on my throne? H4069 why H138 then does Adonijah H4427 reign?
  14 H2009 Behold, H5750 while you yet H1696 talk H8033 there H4428 with the king, H935 I also will come H310 in after H4390 you, and confirm H1697 your words.
  15 H1339 And Bathsheba H935 went H4428 in to the king H2315 into the chamber: H4428 and the king H3966 was very H2204 old; H49 and Abishag H7767 the Shunammite H8334 ministered H4428 to the king.
  16 H1339 And Bathsheba H6915 bowed, H7812 and did obeisance H4428 to the king. H4428 And the king H559 said, H4100 What would you?
  17 H559 And she said H113 to him, My lord, H7650 you swore H3068 by the LORD H430 your God H519 to your handmaid, H559 saying, H3588 Assuredly H8010 Solomon H1121 your son H4427 shall reign H310 after H3427 me, and he shall sit H3678 on my throne.
  18 H6258 And now, H2009 behold, H138 Adonijah H4427 reigns; H6258 and now, H113 my lord H4428 the king, H3045 you know it not:
  19 H2076 And he has slain H7794 oxen H4806 and fat H4806 cattle H6629 and sheep H7230 in abundance, H7121 and has called H3605 all H1121 the sons H4428 of the king, H54 and Abiathar H3548 the priest, H3097 and Joab H8269 the captain H6635 of the host: H8010 but Solomon H5650 your servant H7121 has he not called.
  20 H113 And you, my lord, H4428 O king, H5869 the eyes H3605 of all H3478 Israel H5046 are on you, that you should tell H4310 them who H3427 shall sit H5921 on H3678 the throne H113 of my lord H4428 the king H310 after him.
  21 H1961 Otherwise it shall come H113 to pass, when my lord H4428 the king H7901 shall sleep H1 with his fathers, H1121 that I and my son H8010 Solomon H2400 shall be counted offenders.
  22 H2009 And, see, H5750 while she yet H1696 talked H4428 with the king, H5416 Nathan H5030 the prophet H935 also came in.
  23 H5046 And they told H4428 the king, H559 saying, H2009 Behold H5416 Nathan H5030 the prophet. H935 And when he was come H4428 in before the king, H7812 he bowed H6440 himself before H4428 the king H639 with his face H776 to the ground.
  24 H5416 And Nathan H559 said, H113 My lord, H4428 O king, H559 have you said, H138 Adonijah H4427 shall reign H310 after H3427 me, and he shall sit H3678 on my throne?
  25 H3381 For he is gone H3381 down H3117 this day, H2076 and has slain H7794 oxen H4806 and fat H4806 cattle H6629 and sheep H7230 in abundance, H7121 and has called H3605 all H4428 the king’s H1121 sons, H8269 and the captains H6635 of the host, H54 and Abiathar H3548 the priest; H2009 and, behold, H398 they eat H8354 and drink H6440 before H559 him, and say, H2421 God save H4428 king Adonijah.
  26 H5650 But me, even me your servant, H6659 and Zadok H3548 the priest, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3111 of Jehoiada, H5650 and your servant H8010 Solomon, H7121 has he not called.
  27 H2088 Is this H1697 thing H113 done by my lord H4428 the king, H3045 and you have not showed H5650 it to your servant, H4310 who H3427 should sit H3678 on the throne H113 of my lord H4428 the king H310 after him?
  28 H4428 Then king H1732 David H6030 answered H559 and said, H7121 Call H1339 me Bathsheba. H935 And she came H4428 into the king’s H6440 presence, H5975 and stood H6440 before H4428 the king.
  29 H4428 And the king H7650 swore, H559 and said, H3068 As the LORD H2416 lives, H6299 that has redeemed H5315 my soul H3605 out of all H6869 distress,
  30 H3588 Even H7650 as I swore H3068 to you by the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H559 saying, H3588 Assuredly H8010 Solomon H1121 your son H4427 shall reign H310 after H3427 me, and he shall sit H3678 on my throne H8478 in my stead; H3588 even H3651 so H6213 will I certainly do H2088 this H3117 day.
  31 H1339 Then Bathsheba H6915 bowed H639 with her face H776 to the earth, H7812 and did reverence H4428 to the king, H559 and said, H113 Let my lord H4428 king H1732 David H2421 live H5769 for ever.
  32 H4428 And king H1732 David H559 said, H7121 Call H6659 me Zadok H3548 the priest, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3111 of Jehoiada. H935 And they came H6440 before H4428 the king.
  33 H4428 The king H559 also said H3947 to them, Take H5650 with you the servants H113 of your lord, H8010 and cause Solomon H1121 my son H7392 to ride H6506 on my own mule, H3381 and bring H3381 him down H1521 to Gihon:
  34 H6659 And let Zadok H3548 the priest H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet H4886 anoint H8033 him there H4428 king H5921 over H3478 Israel: H8628 and blow H7782 you with the trumpet, H559 and say, H2421 God save H4428 king H8010 Solomon.
  35 H5927 Then you shall come H310 up after H935 him, that he may come H3427 and sit H3678 on my throne; H4427 for he shall be king H8478 in my stead: H6680 and I have appointed H5057 him to be ruler H5921 over H3478 Israel H5921 and over H3063 Judah.
  36 H1141 And Benaiah H1121 the son H3111 of Jehoiada H6030 answered H4428 the king, H559 and said, H543 Amen: H3068 the LORD H430 God H113 of my lord H4428 the king H559 say H3651 so too.
  37 H3068 As the LORD H1961 has been H113 with my lord H4428 the king, H3651 even so H8010 be he with Solomon, H3678 and make his throne H3678 greater than the throne H113 of my lord H4428 king H1732 David.
  38 H6659 So Zadok H3548 the priest, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3111 of Jehoiada, H3746 and the Cherethites, H6432 and the Pelethites, H3381 went H3381 down, H8010 and caused Solomon H7392 to ride H4428 on king H1732 David’s H6506 mule, H3212 and brought H1521 him to Gihon.
  39 H6659 And Zadok H3548 the priest H3947 took H7161 an horn H8081 of oil H168 out of the tabernacle, H4886 and anointed H8010 Solomon. H8628 And they blew H7782 the trumpet; H3605 and all H5971 the people H559 said, H2421 God save H4428 king H8010 Solomon.
  40 H3605 And all H5971 the people H5927 came H310 up after H5971 him, and the people H2490 piped H2485 with pipes, H8056 and rejoiced H1419 with great H8057 joy, H776 so that the earth H1234 rent H6963 with the sound of them.
  41 H138 And Adonijah H3605 and all H7121 the guests H8085 that were with him heard H3615 it as they had made an end H398 of eating. H3097 And when Joab H8085 heard H6963 the sound H7782 of the trumpet, H559 he said, H4069 Why H6963 is this noise H7151 of the city H1993 being in an uproar?
  42 H5750 And while he yet H1696 spoke, H2009 behold, H3129 Jonathan H1121 the son H54 of Abiathar H3548 the priest H935 came; H138 and Adonijah H559 said H935 to him, Come H2428 in; for you are a valiant H376 man, H1319 and bring H2896 good H1319 tidings.
  43 H3129 And Jonathan H6030 answered H559 and said H138 to Adonijah, H61 Truly H113 our lord H4428 king H1732 David H8010 has made Solomon H4427 king.
  44 H4428 And the king H7971 has sent H6659 with him Zadok H3548 the priest, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet, H1141 and Benaiah H1121 the son H3111 of Jehoiada, H3774 and the Cherethites, H6432 and the Pelethites, H7392 and they have caused him to ride H4428 on the king’s H6506 mule:
  45 H6659 And Zadok H3548 the priest H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet H4886 have anointed H4428 him king H1521 in Gihon: H5927 and they are come H8033 up from there H8056 rejoicing, H7151 so that the city H1949 rang H1931 again. This H6963 is the noise H8085 that you have heard.
  46 H1571 And also H8010 Solomon H3427 sits H5921 on H3678 the throne H4410 of the kingdom.
  47 H1571 And moreover H4428 the king’s H5650 servants H935 came H1288 to bless H113 our lord H4428 king H1732 David, H559 saying, H430 God H8034 make the name H8010 of Solomon H3190 better H8034 than your name, H3678 and make his throne H3678 greater than your throne. H4428 And the king H7812 bowed H4904 himself on the bed.
  48 H1571 And also H3602 thus H559 said H4428 the king, H1288 Blessed H3068 be the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H834 which H5414 has given H3427 one to sit H5921 on H3678 my throne H3117 this day, H5869 my eyes H7200 even seeing it.
  49 H3605 And all H7121 the guests H138 that were with Adonijah H2729 were afraid, H6965 and rose H3212 up, and went H376 every man H1870 his way.
  50 H138 And Adonijah H3372 feared H6440 because H8010 of Solomon, H6965 and arose, H3212 and went, H2388 and caught H2388 hold H7161 on the horns H4196 of the altar.
  51 H5046 And it was told H8010 Solomon, H559 saying, H2009 Behold, H138 Adonijah H3372 fears H4428 king H8010 Solomon: H2009 for, see, H270 he has caught H270 hold H7161 on the horns H4196 of the altar, H559 saying, H4428 Let king H8010 Solomon H7650 swear H3117 to me today H4191 that he will not slay H5650 his servant H2719 with the sword.
  52 H8010 And Solomon H559 said, H518 If H2428 he will show himself a worthy H1121 man, H8185 there shall not an hair H5307 of him fall H776 to the earth: H518 but if H7451 wickedness H4672 shall be found H4191 in him, he shall die.
  53 H4428 So king H8010 Solomon H7971 sent, H3381 and they brought H3381 him down H4196 from the altar. H7126 And he came H7812 and bowed H4428 himself to king H8010 Solomon: H8010 and Solomon H559 said H3212 to him, Go H1004 to your house.
