2 Kings 7 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

2 H7991 Then a lord H3027 on whose hand H4428 the king H8172 [H8737] leaned H6030 [H8799] answered H376 the man H430 of God, H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 Behold, if the LORD H6213 [H8802] would make H699 windows H8064 in heaven, H1697 might this thing H559 [H8799] be? And he said, H7200 [H8802] Behold, thou shalt see H5869 it with thine eyes, H398 [H8799] but shalt not eat of it.

3 H702 And there were four H6879 [H8794] leprous H582 men H6607 at the entrance H8179 of the gate: H559 [H8799] and they said H376 one H7453 to another, H3427 [H8802] Why sit H4191 [H8804] we here until we die?

4 H559 [H8804] If we say, H935 [H8799] We will enter H5892 into the city, H7458 then the famine H5892 is in the city, H4191 [H8804] and we shall die H3427 [H8804] there: and if we sit still H4191 [H8804] here, we die H3212 [H8798] also. Now therefore come, H5307 [H8799] and let us fall H4264 to the army H758 of the Syrians: H2421 [H8762] if they save us alive, H2421 [H8799] we shall live; H4191 [H8686] and if they kill H4191 [H8804] us, we shall but die.

5 H6965 [H8799] And they rose H5399 in the twilight, H935 [H8800] to go H4264 to the camp H758 of the Syrians: H935 [H8799] and when they had come H7097 to the edge H4264 of the camp H758 of Syria, H376 behold, there was no man there.

6 H136 For the Lord H4264 had made the army H758 of the Syrians H8085 [H8689] to hear H6963 a noise H7393 of chariots, H6963 and a noise H5483 of horses, H6963 even the noise H1419 of a great H2428 army: H559 [H8799] and they said H376 one H251 to another, H4428 Lo, the king H3478 of Israel H7936 [H8804] hath hired H4428 against us the kings H2850 of the Hittites, H4428 and the kings H4714 of the Egyptians, H935 [H8800] to come upon us.

7 H6965 [H8799] Therefore they arose H5127 [H8799] and fled H5399 in the twilight, H5800 [H8799] and left H168 their tents, H5483 and their horses, H2543 and their donkeys, H4264 even the camp H5127 [H8799] as it was, and fled H5315 for their life.

8 H6879 [H8794] And when these lepers H935 [H8799] came H7097 to the edge H4264 of the camp, H935 [H8799] they went H259 into one H168 tent, H398 [H8799] and ate H8354 [H8799] and drank, H5375 [H8799] and carried H3701 from there silver, H2091 and gold, H899 and raiment, H3212 [H8799] and went H2934 [H8686] and hid H7725 [H8799] it; and came again, H935 [H8799] and entered H312 into another H168 tent, H5375 [H8799] and carried H3212 [H8799] from there also, and went H2934 [H8686] and hid it.

9 H559 [H8799] Then they said H376 one H7453 to another, H6213 [H8802] We do H3117 not well: this day H3117 is a day H1309 of good tidings, H2814 [H8688] and we hold our peace: H2442 [H8765] if we tarry H1242 till the morning H216 light, H5771 some perversity H4672 [H8804] will come H3212 [H8798] upon us: now therefore come, H935 [H8799] that we may go H5046 [H8686] and tell H4428 the king's H1004 household.

10 H935 [H8799] So they came H7121 [H8799] and called H7778 to the porter H5892 of the city: H5046 [H8686] and they told H559 [H8800] him, saying, H935 [H8804] We came H4264 to the camp H758 of the Syrians, H376 and, behold, there was no man H6963 there, neither voice H120 of man, H5483 but horses H631 [H8803] tied, H2543 and donkeys H631 [H8803] tied, H168 and the tents as they were.

11 H7121 [H8799] And he called H7778 the porters; H5046 [H8686] and they told H4428 it to the king's H1004 house H6441 within.

12 H4428 And the king H6965 [H8799] arose H3915 in the night, H559 [H8799] and said H5650 to his servants, H5046 [H8686] I will now show H758 you what the Syrians H6213 [H8804] have done H3045 [H8804] to us. They know H7457 that we are hungry; H3318 [H8799] therefore they have gone out H4264 of the camp H2247 [H8736] to hide H7704 themselves in the field, H559 [H8800] saying, H3318 [H8799] When they come out H5892 of the city, H8610 [H8799] we shall take H2416 them alive, H935 [H8799] and get H5892 into the city.

13 H259 And one H5650 of his servants H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said, H3947 [H8799] Let some take, H2568 I pray thee, five H5483 of the horses H7604 [H8737] that remain, H7604 [H8738] which are left H1995 in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude H3478 of Israel H7604 [H8738] that are left H1995 in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude H3478 of the Israelites H8552 [H8804] that are consumed: H7971 [H8799] ) and let us send H7200 [H8799] and see.

14 H3947 [H8799] They took H8147 therefore two H7393 chariot H5483 horses; H4428 and the king H7971 [H8799] sent H310 after H4264 the host H758 of the Syrians, H559 [H8800] saying, H3212 [H8798] Go H7200 [H8798] and see.

15 H3212 [H8799] And they went H310 after H3383 them to Jordan: H1870 and, lo, all the way H4392 was full H899 of garments H3627 and vessels, H758 which the Syrians H7993 [H8689] had cast away H2648 [H8800] in their haste. H4397 And the messengers H7725 [H8799] returned, H5046 [H8686] and told H4428 the king.

16 H5971 And the people H3318 [H8799] went out, H962 [H8799] and spoiled H4264 the tents H758 of the Syrians. H5429 So a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 was sold for a shekel, H5429 and two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H1697 according to the word H3068 of the LORD.

17 H4428 And the king H6485 [H8689] appointed H7991 the lord H3027 on whose hand H8172 [H8737] he leaned H8179 to have the charge of the gate: H5971 and the people H7429 [H8799] trod H8179 upon him in the gate, H4191 [H8799] and he died, H376 as the man H430 of God H1696 [H8765] had said, H1696 [H8765] who spoke H4428 when the king H3381 [H8800] came down to him.

18 H376 And it came to pass as the man H430 of God H1696 [H8763] had spoken H4428 to the king, H559 [H8800] saying, H5429 Two measures H8184 of barley H8255 for a shekel, H5429 and a measure H5560 of fine flour H8255 for a shekel, H4279 shall be to morrow H6256 about this time H8179 in the gate H8111 of Samaria:

19 H7991 And that lord H6030 [H8799] answered H376 the man H430 of God, H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 Now, behold, if the LORD H6213 [H8802] should make H699 windows H8064 in heaven, H1697 might such a thing H559 [H8799] be? And he said, H7200 [H8802] Behold, thou shalt see H5869 it with thine eyes, H398 [H8799] but shalt not eat of it.

20 H5971 And so it happened to him: for the people H7429 [H8799] trod H8179 upon him in the gate, H4191 [H8799] and he died.
