Ezekiel 8:1-18 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat at the face of me, that the hand of the Sovereign LORD fell there upon me.

1 H8345 And it came to pass in the sixth H8141 year, H8345 in the sixth H2568 month, in the fifth H2320 day of the month, H3427 [H8802] as I sat H1004 in my house, H2205 and the elders H3063 of Judah H3427 [H8802] sat H6440 at the face of H3027 me, that the hand H136 of the Sovereign H3069 LORD H5307 [H8799] fell there upon me.

2 H7200 [H8799] Then I beheld, H1823 and lo a likeness H4758 as the appearance H784 of fire: H4758 from the appearance H4975 of his loins H4295 even downward, H784 fire; H4975 and from his loins H4605 even upward, H4758 as the appearance H2096 of brightness, H5869 as the colour H2830 of amber.

3 H7971 [H8799] And he put forth H8403 the form H3027 of an hand, H3947 [H8799] and took H6734 me by a lock H7218 of my head; H7307 and the spirit H5375 [H8799] lifted me up H776 between the earth H8064 and the heaven, H935 [H8686] and brought H4759 me in the visions H430 of God H3389 to Jerusalem, H6607 to the door H6442 of the inner H8179 gate H6437 [H8802] that looketh H6828 toward the north; H4186 where was the seat H5566 of the image H7068 of jealousy, H7069 [H8688] which provoketh to jealousy.

4 H3519 And, behold, the glory H430 of the God H3478 of Israel H4758 was there, according to the vision H7200 [H8804] that I saw H1237 in the plain.

5 H559 [H8799] Then said H1121 he to me, Son H120 of man, H5375 [H8798] lift up H5869 thine eyes H1870 now the way H6828 toward the north. H5375 [H8799] So I lifted up H5869 my eyes H1870 the way H6828 toward the north, H6828 and behold northward H8179 at the gate H4196 of the altar H5566 this image H7068 of jealousy H872 in the entrance.

6 H559 [H8799] He said H1121 furthermore to me, Son H120 of man, H7200 [H8802] seest H6213 [H8802] thou what they do? H1419 even the great H8441 abominations H1004 that the house H3478 of Israel H6213 [H8802] committeth H7368 [H8800] here, that I should withdraw H4720 from my sanctuary? H7725 [H8799] but turn H7200 [H8799] thee yet again, and thou shalt see H1419 greater H8441 abominations.

7 H935 [H8686] And he brought H6607 me to the door H2691 of the court; H7200 [H8799] and when I looked, H259 behold a H2356 hole H7023 in the wall.

8 H559 [H8799] Then said H1121 he to me, Son H120 of man, H2864 [H8798] dig H7023 now in the wall: H2864 [H8799] and when I had dug H7023 in the wall, H259 behold a H6607 door.

9 H559 [H8799] And he said H935 [H8798] to me, Go in, H7200 [H8798] and behold H7451 the wicked H8441 abominations H6213 [H8802] that they do here.

10 H935 [H8799] So I went in H7200 [H8799] and saw; H8403 and behold every form H7431 of creeping things, H8263 and abominable H929 beasts, H1544 and all the idols H1004 of the house H3478 of Israel, H2707 [H8794] carved H5439 around H7023 upon the wall.

11 H5975 [H8802] And there stood H6440 at the face of H7657 them seventy H376 men H2205 of the elders H1004 of the house H3478 of Israel, H8432 and in the midst H5975 [H8802] of them stood H2970 Jaazaniah H1121 the son H8227 of Shaphan, H376 with every man H4730 his censer H3027 in his hand; H6282 and a thick H6051 cloud H7004 of incense H5927 [H8802] went up.

12 H559 [H8799] Then said H1121 he to me, Son H120 of man, H7200 [H8804] hast thou seen H2205 what the elders H1004 of the house H3478 of Israel H6213 [H8802] do H2822 in the dark, H376 every man H2315 in the chambers H4906 of his imagery? H559 [H8802] for they say, H3068 The LORD H7200 [H8802] seeth H3068 us not; the LORD H5800 [H8804] hath forsaken H776 the earth.

13 H559 [H8799] He said H7725 [H8799] also to me, Turn H7200 [H8799] thee yet again, and thou shalt see H1419 greater H8441 abominations H6213 [H8802] that they do.

14 H935 [H8686] Then he brought H6607 me to the door H8179 of the gate H3068 of the LORD'S H1004 house H6828 which was toward the north; H3427 [H8802] and, behold, there sat H802 women H1058 [H8764] weeping H8542 for Tammuz.

15 H559 [H8799] Then said H7200 [H8804] he to me, Hast thou seen H1121 this, O son H120 of man? H7725 [H8799] turn H7200 [H8799] thee yet again, and thou shalt see H1419 greater H8441 abominations than these.

16 H935 [H8686] And he brought H6442 me into the inner H2691 court H3068 of the LORD'S H1004 house, H6607 and, behold, at the door H1964 of the temple H3068 of the LORD, H197 between the porch H4196 and the altar, H2568 were about five H6242 and twenty H376 men, H268 with their backs H1964 toward the temple H3068 of the LORD, H6440 and their faces H6924 toward the east; H7812 [H8693] and they worshipped H8121 the sun H6924 toward the east.

17 H559 [H8799] Then he said H7200 [H8804] to me, Hast thou seen H1121 this, O son H120 of man? H7043 [H8738] Is it a light thing H1004 to the house H3063 of Judah H6213 [H8800] that they commit H8441 the abominations H6213 [H8804] which they commit H4390 [H8804] here? for they have filled H776 the land H2555 with violence, H7725 [H8799] and have returned H3707 [H8687] to provoke me to anger: H7971 [H8802] and, lo, they put H2156 the branch H639 to their nose.

18 H6213 [H8799] Therefore will I also deal H2534 in hot anger: H5869 mine eye H2347 [H8799] shall not spare, H2550 [H8799] neither will I have commiseration: H7121 [H8804] and though they call H241 in mine ears H1419 with a loud H6963 voice, H8085 [H8799] yet I will not hear them.
