2 Samuel 12:1-13 And the LORD sent Nathan to David . And he came to him, and said to him, There were two men in one city ; the one rich , and the other poor.

2 H6223 The rich H3966 man had very H7235 [H8687] many H6629 flocks H1241 and herds:

3 H7326 [H8802] But the poor H259 man had nothing, except one H6996 little H3535 ewe lamb H7069 [H8804] , which he had bought H2421 [H8762] and nourished H1431 [H8799] : and it grew up H3162 together H1121 with him, and with his children H398 [H8799] ; it fed H6595 of his own food H8354 [H8799] , and drank H3563 of his own cup H7901 [H8799] , and lay H2436 in his bosom H1323 , and was to him as a daughter.

4 H935 [H8799] And there came H1982 a traveller H6223 to the rich H376 man H2550 [H8799] , and he was not willing H3947 [H8800] to take H6629 of his own flock H1241 and of his own herd H6213 [H8800] , to prepare H732 [H8802] for the wayfaring man H935 [H8802] that had come H3947 [H8799] to him; but took H7326 [H8802] the poor H376 man's H3535 lamb H6213 [H8799] , and prepared H376 it for the man H935 [H8802] that had come to him.

5 H1732 And David's H639 anger H3966 was greatly H2734 [H8799] kindled H376 against the man H559 [H8799] ; and he said H5416 to Nathan H3068 , As the LORD H2416 liveth H376 , the man H6213 [H8802] that hath done H1121 this thing shall surely H4194 die:

6 H7999 [H8762] And he shall restore H3535 the lamb H706 fourfold H6118 , because H6213 [H8804] he did H1697 this thing H834 , and because H2550 [H8804] he had no pity.

7 H5416 And Nathan H559 [H8799] said H1732 to David H376 , Thou art the man H559 [H8804] . Thus saith H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H4886 [H8804] , I anointed H4428 thee king H3478 over Israel H5337 [H8689] , and I delivered H3027 thee from the hand H7586 of Saul;

8 H5414 [H8799] And I gave H113 thee thy master's H1004 house H113 , and thy master's H802 wives H2436 into thy bosom H5414 [H8799] , and gave H1004 thee the house H3478 of Israel H3063 and of Judah H4592 ; and if that had been too little H3254 [H8686] , I would moreover have given H2007 to thee such H2007 and such things.

9 H959 [H8804] Why hast thou despised H1697 the commandment H3068 of the LORD H6213 [H8800] , to do H7451 evil H5869 in his sight H5221 [H8689] ? thou hast killed H223 Uriah H2850 the Hittite H2719 with the sword H3947 [H8804] , and hast taken H802 his wife H802 to be thy wife H2026 [H8804] , and hast slain H2719 him with the sword H1121 of the children H5983 of Ammon.

10 H2719 Now therefore the sword H5704 H5769 shall never H5493 [H8799] depart H1004 from thy house H6118 ; because H959 [H8804] thou hast despised H3947 [H8799] me, and hast taken H802 the wife H223 of Uriah H2850 the Hittite H802 to be thy wife.

11 H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6965 [H8688] , Behold, I will raise up H7451 evil H1004 against thee out of thy own house H3947 [H8804] , and I will take H802 thy wives H5869 before thy eyes H5414 [H8804] , and give H7453 them to thy neighbour H7901 [H8804] , and he shall lie H802 with thy wives H5869 in the sight H8121 of this sun.

12 H6213 [H8804] For thou didst H5643 it secretly H6213 [H8799] : but I will do H1697 this thing H3478 before all Israel H8121 , and before the sun.

13 H1732 And David H559 [H8799] said H5416 to Nathan H2398 [H8804] , I have sinned H3068 against the LORD H5416 . And Nathan H559 [H8799] said H1732 to David H3068 , The LORD H5674 [H8689] also hath put away H2403 thy sin H4191 [H8799] ; thou shalt not die.
