1 Kings 20:35-41

  35 H259 And a certain H376 man H1121 of the sons H5030 of the prophets H559 [H8804] said H7453 to his neighbour H1697 in the word H3068 of the LORD H5221 [H8685] , Smite H376 me, I pray thee. And the man H3985 [H8762] refused H5221 [H8687] to smite him.

  36 H559 [H8799] Then said H8085 [H8804] he to him, Because thou hast not obeyed H6963 the voice H3068 of the LORD H1980 [H8802] , behold, as soon as thou hast departed H738 from me, a lion H5221 [H8689] shall slay H3212 [H8799] thee. And as soon as he had departed H681 from him H738 , a lion H4672 [H8799] found H5221 [H8686] him, and slew him.

  37 H4672 [H8799] Then he found H312 another H376 man H559 [H8799] , and said H5221 [H8685] , Smite H376 me, I pray thee. And the man H5221 [H8686] smote H5221 [H8687] him, so that in smiting H6481 [H8800] he wounded him.

  38 H5030 So the prophet H3212 [H8799] departed H5975 [H8799] , and waited H4428 for the king H1870 by the way H2664 [H8691] , and disguised H666 himself with ashes H5869 upon his face.

  39 H4428 And as the king H5674 [H8802] passed by H6817 [H8804] , he cried H4428 to the king H559 [H8799] : and he said H5650 , Thy servant H3318 [H8804] went out H7130 into the midst H4421 of the battle H376 ; and, behold, a man H5493 [H8804] turned aside H935 [H8686] , and brought H376 a man H559 [H8799] to me, and said H8104 [H8798] , Keep H376 this man H6485 [H8736] : if by any means H6485 [H8735] he shall be missing H5315 , then shall thy life H5315 be for his life H8254 [H8799] , or else thou shalt pay H3603 a talent H3701 of silver.

  40 H5650 And as thy servant H6213 [H8802] was busy H369 here and there, he was gone H4428 . And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H4941 to him, So shall thy judgment H2782 [H8804] be; thyself hast decided it.

  41 H4116 [H8762] And he hasted H666 , and took the ashes H5493 [H8686] away H5869 from his face H4428 ; and the king H3478 of Israel H5234 [H8686] knew H5030 that he was of the prophets.
