2 Kings 3:4-27 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster , and rendered to the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs , and an hundred thousand rams , with the wool.

And he said H5927 [H8799] , I will go H5971 : I am as thou art, my people H5971 as thy people H5483 , and my horses H5483 as thy horses.

8 H559 [H8799] And he said H1870 , Which way H5927 [H8799] shall we go up H559 [H8799] ? And he answered H1870 , The way H4057 through the wilderness H123 of Edom.

9 H4428 So the king H3478 of Israel H3212 [H8799] went H4428 , and the king H3063 of Judah H4428 , and the king H123 of Edom H5437 [H8799] : and they made a circuit H7651 of seven H3117 days H1870 ' journey H4325 : and there was no water H4264 for the army H929 , and for the cattle H7272 that followed them.

10 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H162 , Alas H3068 ! that the LORD H7121 0 hath called H7969 these three H4428 kings H7121 [H8804] together H5414 [H8800] , to deliver H3027 them into the hand H4124 of Moab!

11 H3092 But Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H5030 , Is there not here a prophet H3068 of the LORD H1875 [H8799] , that we may enquire H3068 of the LORD H259 by him? And one H4428 of the king H3478 of Israel's H5650 servants H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said H477 , Here is Elisha H1121 the son H8202 of Shaphat H3332 [H8804] , who poured H4325 water H3027 on the hands H452 of Elijah.

12 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H1697 , The word H3068 of the LORD H3426 is H4428 with him. So the king H3478 of Israel H3092 and Jehoshaphat H4428 and the king H123 of Edom H3381 [H8799] went down to him.

13 H477 And Elisha H559 [H8799] said H4428 to the king H3478 of Israel H3212 [H8798] , What have I to do with thee? go H5030 to the prophets H1 of thy father H5030 , and to the prophets H517 of thy mother H4428 . And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3068 to him, Nay: for the LORD H7121 0 hath called H7969 these three H4428 kings H7121 [H8804] together H5414 [H8800] , to deliver H3027 them into the hand H4124 of Moab.

14 H477 And Elisha H559 [H8799] said H3068 , As the LORD H6635 of hosts H2416 liveth H6440 , before H5975 [H8804] whom I stand H3884 , surely, were it not that H5375 [H8802] I regard H6440 the presence H3092 of Jehoshaphat H4428 the king H3063 of Judah H5027 [H8686] , I would not look H7200 [H8799] toward thee, nor see thee.

15 H3947 [H8798] But now bring H5059 [H8764] me a minstrel H5059 [H8764] . And it came to pass, when the minstrel H5059 [H8763] played H3027 , that the hand H3068 of the LORD came upon him.

16 H559 [H8799] And he said H559 [H8804] , Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6213 [H8800] , Make H5158 this valley H1356 full of ditches.

17 H559 [H8804] For thus saith H3068 the LORD H7200 [H8799] , Ye shall not see H7307 wind H7200 [H8799] , neither shall ye see H1653 rain H5158 ; yet that valley H4390 [H8735] shall be filled H4325 with water H8354 [H8804] , that ye may drink H4735 , both ye, and your cattle H929 , and your beasts.

18 H7043 [H8738] And this is but a light thing H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD H5414 [H8804] : he will deliver H4124 the Moabites H3027 also into your hand.

19 H5221 [H8689] And ye shall smite H4013 every fortified H5892 city H4004 , and every choice H5892 city H5307 [H8686] , and shall fell H2896 every good H6086 tree H5640 [H8799] , and stop H4599 all wells H4325 of water H3510 [H8686] , and mar H2896 every good H2513 piece H68 of land with stones.

20 H1242 And it came to pass in the morning H4503 , when the meat offering H5927 [H8800] was offered H935 [H8802] , that, behold, there came H4325 water H1870 by the way H123 of Edom H776 , and the country H4390 [H8735] was filled H4325 with water.

21 H4124 And when all the Moabites H8085 [H8804] heard H4428 that the kings H5927 [H8804] were come up H3898 [H8736] to fight H6817 [H8735] against them, they gathered H2296 [H8802] all that were able to put H2290 on armour H4605 , and upward H5975 [H8799] , and stood H1366 in the border.

22 H7925 [H8686] And they rose early H1242 in the morning H8121 , and the sun H2224 [H8804] shone H4325 upon the water H4124 , and the Moabites H7200 [H8799] saw H4325 the water H5048 on the other side H122 as red H1818 as blood:

23 H559 [H8799] And they said H1818 , This is blood H4428 : the kings H2717 [H8715] are surely H2717 [H8738] slain H5221 [H8686] , and they have smitten H376 one H7453 another H4124 : now therefore, Moab H7998 , to the spoil.

24 H935 [H8799] And when they came H4264 to the camp H3478 of Israel H3478 , the Israelites H6965 [H8799] rose H5221 [H8686] and smote H4124 the Moabites H5127 [H8799] , so that they fled H6440 before H5221 [H8686] them: but they went forward H5221 [H8687] smiting H4124 the Moabites, even in their country.

26 H4428 And when the king H4124 of Moab H7200 [H8799] saw H4421 that the battle H2388 [H8804] was too fierce H3947 [H8799] for him, he took H7651 with him seven H3967 hundred H376 men H8025 [H8802] that drew H2719 swords H1234 [H8687] , to break through H4428 to the king H123 of Edom H3201 [H8804] : but they could not.

27 H3947 [H8799] Then he took H1060 his eldest H1121 son H4427 [H8799] that was to reign H5927 [H8686] in his stead, and offered H5930 him for a burnt offering H2346 upon the wall H1419 . And there was great H7110 indignation H3478 against Israel H5265 [H8799] : and they departed H7725 [H8799] from him, and returned H776 to their own land.
