2 Kings 3:4-27 ומישׁע And Mesha מלך king מואב of Moab היה was נקד a sheepmaster, והשׁיב and rendered למלך unto the king ישׂראל of Israel מאה a hundred אלף thousand כרים lambs, ומאה and a hundred אלף thousand אילים rams, צמר׃ with the wool.

4 H4338 ומישׁע And Mesha H4428 מלך king H4124 מואב of Moab H1961 היה was H5349 נקד a sheepmaster, H7725 והשׁיב and rendered H4428 למלך unto the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3967 מאה a hundred H505 אלף thousand H3733 כרים lambs, H3967 ומאה and a hundred H505 אלף thousand H352 אילים rams, H6785 צמר׃ with the wool.

5 H1961 ויהי But it came to pass, H4194 כמות was dead, H256 אחאב when Ahab H6586 ויפשׁע rebelled H4428 מלך that the king H4124 מואב of Moab H4428 במלך against the king H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

6 H3318 ויצא went out H4428 המלך And king H3088 יהורם Jehoram H3117 ביום time, H1931 ההוא the same H8111 משׁמרון H6485 ויפקד and numbered H853 את H3605 כל all H3478 ישׂראל׃ Israel.

7 H1980 וילך And he went H7971 וישׁלח and sent H413 אל to H3092 יהושׁפט Jehoshaphat H4428 מלך the king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H559 לאמר saying, H4428 מלך The king H4124 מואב of Moab H6586 פשׁע hath rebelled H1980 בי התלך against me: wilt thou go H854 אתי with H413 אל me against H4124 מואב Moab H4421 למלחמה to battle? H559 ויאמר And he said, H5927 אעלה I will go up: H3644 כמוני H3644 כמוך H5971 כעמי I as thou my people H5971 כעמך as thy people, H5483 כסוסי my horses H5483 כסוסיך׃ as thy horses.

8 H559 ויאמר And he said, H335 אי H2088 זה H1870 הדרך way H5927 נעלה shall we go up? H559 ויאמר And he answered, H1870 דרך The way H4057 מדבר through the wilderness H123 אדום׃ of Edom.

9 H1980 וילך went, H4428 מלך So the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4428 ומלך and the king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H4428 ומלך and the king H123 אדום of Edom: H5437 ויסבו and they fetched a compass H1870 דרך journey: H7651 שׁבעת of seven H3117 ימים days' H3808 ולא no H1961 היה and there was H4325 מים water H4264 למחנה for the host, H929 ולבהמה and for the cattle H834 אשׁר that H7272 ברגליהם׃ followed

10 H559 ויאמר said, H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H162 אהה Alas! H3588 כי that H7121 קרא hath called H3069 יהוה H7969 לשׁלשׁת three H4428 המלכים kings H428 האלה these H5414 לתת together, to deliver H853 אותם H3027 ביד them into the hand H4124 מואב׃ of Moab!

11 H559 ויאמר said, H3092 יהושׁפט But Jehoshaphat H369 האין not H6311 פה here H5030 נביא a prophet H3068 ליהוה of the LORD, H1875 ונדרשׁה that we may inquire H853 את H3068 יהוה of the LORD H854 מאותו by H6030 ויען answered H259 אחד him? And one H5650 מעבדי H4428 מלך of the king H3478 ישׂראל H559 ויאמר and said, H6311 פה Here H477 אלישׁע Elisha H1121 בן the son H8202 שׁפט of Shaphat, H834 אשׁר which H3332 יצק poured H4325 מים water H5921 על on H3027 ידי the hands H452 אליהו׃ of Elijah.

12 H559 ויאמר said, H3092 יהושׁפט And Jehoshaphat H3426 ישׁ is H854 אותו with H1697 דבר The word H3068 יהוה of the LORD H3381 וירדו went down H413 אליו to H4428 מלך him. So the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3092 ויהושׁפט and Jehoshaphat H4428 ומלך and the king H123 אדום׃ of Edom

13 H559 ויאמר said H477 אלישׁע And Elisha H413 אל unto H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H4100 מה What H1980 לי ולך לך have I to do with thee? get H413 אל thee to H5030 נביאי the prophets H1 אביך of thy father, H413 ואל and to H5030 נביאי the prophets H517 אמך of thy mother. H559 ויאמר said H4428 לו מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H408 אל unto him, Nay: H3588 כי for H7121 קרא hath called H3068 יהוה the LORD H7969 לשׁלשׁת three H4428 המלכים kings H428 האלה these H5414 לתת together, to deliver H853 אותם H3027 ביד them into the hand H4124 מואב׃ of Moab.

14 H559 ויאמר said, H477 אלישׁע And Elisha H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה the LORD H6635 צבאות of hosts H834 אשׁר whom H5975 עמדתי I stand, H6440 לפניו before H3588 כי surely, H3884 לולי were it not H6440 פני the presence H3092 יהושׁפט of Jehoshaphat H4428 מלך the king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H589 אני that I H5375 נשׂא regard H518 אם thee, nor H5027 אביט I would not look H413 אליך toward H518 ואם H7200 אראך׃ see

15 H6258 ועתה But now H3947 קחו bring H5059 לי מנגן me a minstrel. H1961 והיה And it came to pass, H5059 כנגן when the minstrel H5059 המנגן played, H1961 ותהי came H5921 עליו upon H3027 יד that the hand H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD

16 H559 ויאמר And he said, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H6213 עשׂה Make H5158 הנחל valley H2088 הזה this H1356 גבים full of ditches. H1356 גבים׃ full of ditches.

17 H3588 כי For H3541 כה thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H3808 לא Ye shall not H7200 תראו see H7307 רוח wind, H3808 ולא neither H7200 תראו shall ye see H1653 גשׁם rain; H5158 והנחל valley H1931 ההוא yet that H4390 ימלא shall be filled H4325 מים with water, H8354 ושׁתיתם that ye may drink, H859 אתם both ye, H4735 ומקניכם and your cattle, H929 ובהמתכם׃ and your beasts.

18 H7043 ונקל is a light thing H2063 זאת And this H5869 בעיני in the sight H3068 יהוה of the LORD: H5414 ונתן he will deliver H853 את H4124 מואב the Moabites H3027 בידכם׃ also into your hand.

19 H5221 והכיתם And ye shall smite H3605 כל every H5892 עיר city, H4013 מבצר fenced H3605 וכל and every H5892 עיר city, H4004 מבחור choice H3605 וכל every H6086 עץ tree, H2896 טוב good H5307 תפילו and shall fell H3605 וכל all H4599 מעיני wells H4325 מים of water, H5640 תסתמו and stop H3605 וכל every H2513 החלקה piece of land H2896 הטובה good H3510 תכאבו and mar H68 באבנים׃ with stones.

20 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H1242 בבקר in the morning, H5927 כעלות was offered, H4503 המנחה when the meat offering H2009 והנה that, behold, H4325 מים water H935 באים there came H1870 מדרך by the way H123 אדום of Edom, H4390 ותמלא was filled H776 הארץ and the country H854 את with H4325 המים׃ water.

21 H3605 וכל And when all H4124 מואב the Moabites H8085 שׁמעו heard H3588 כי that H5927 עלו were come up H4428 המלכים the kings H3898 להלחם to fight H6817 בם ויצעקו against them, they gathered all H3605 מכל H2296 חגר that were able to put on H2290 חגרה armor, H4605 ומעלה and upward, H5975 ויעמדו and stood H5921 על in H1366 הגבול׃ the border.

22 H7925 וישׁכימו And they rose up early H1242 בבקר in the morning, H8121 והשׁמשׁ and the sun H2224 זרחה shone H5921 על upon H4325 המים the water, H7200 ויראו saw H4124 מואב and the Moabites H5048 מנגד on the other side H853 את H4325 המים the water H122 אדמים red H1818 כדם׃ as blood:

23 H559 ויאמרו And they said, H1818 דם blood: H2088 זה This H2717 החרב are surely slain, H2717 נחרבו are surely slain, H4428 המלכים the kings H5221 ויכו and they have smitten H376 אישׁ one H853 את H7453 רעהו another: H6258 ועתה now H7998 לשׁלל to the spoil. H4124 מואב׃ therefore, Moab,

24 H935 ויבאו And when they came H413 אל to H4264 מחנה the camp H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H6965 ויקמו rose up H3478 ישׂראל the Israelites H5221 ויכו and smote H853 את H4124 מואב the Moabites, H5127 וינסו so that they fled H6440 מפניהם before H935 ויבו H5221 בה them: but they went H5221 והכות forward smiting H853 את H4124 מואב׃ the Moabites,

25 H5892 והערים the cities, H2040 יהרסו And they beat down H3605 וכל and on every H2513 חלקה piece H2896 טובה good H7993 ישׁליכו of land cast H376 אישׁ every man H68 אבנו his stone, H4390 ומלאוה and filled H3605 וכל all H4599 מעין the wells H4325 מים of water, H5640 יסתמו it; and they stopped H3605 וכל all H6086 עץ trees: H2896 טוב the good H5307 יפילו and felled H5704 עד only H7604 השׁאיר left H68 אבניה they the stones H7025 בקיר חרשׂת in Kir-haraseth H5437 ויסבו went about H7051 הקלעים thereof; howbeit the slingers H5221 ויכוה׃ and smote

26 H7200 וירא saw H4428 מלך And when the king H4124 מואב of Moab H3588 כי that H2388 חזק was too sore H4480 ממנו for H4421 המלחמה the battle H3947 ויקח him, he took H854 אותו with H7651 שׁבע him seven H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב swords, H1234 להבקיע to break through H413 אל unto H4428 מלך the king H123 אדום of Edom: H3808 ולא not. H3201 יכלו׃ but they could

27 H3947 ויקח Then he took H853 את H1121 בנו son H1060 הבכור his eldest H834 אשׁר that H4427 ימלך should have reigned H8478 תחתיו in his stead, H5927 ויעלהו and offered H5930 עלה him a burnt offering H5921 על upon H2346 החמה the wall. H1961 ויהי And there was H7110 קצף indignation H1419 גדול great H5921 על against H3478 ישׂראל Israel: H5265 ויסעו and they departed H5921 מעליו from H7725 וישׁבו him, and returned H776 לארץ׃ to land.
