Exodus 32:6-35 And they rose up early on the morrow , and offered burnt offerings , and brought peace offerings ; and the people sat down to eat and to drink , and rose up to play .

7 H3068 And the LORD H1696 said [H8762] H4872 unto Moses H3212 , Go [H8798] H3381 , get thee down [H8798] H5971 ; for thy people H5927 , which thou broughtest [H8689] H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt H7843 , have corrupted [H8765] themselves :

8 H5493 They have turned [H8804] H4118 aside quickly H1870 out of the way H6680 which I commanded [H8765] H6213 them: they have made [H8804] H4541 them a molten H5695 calf H7812 , and have worshipped [H8691] H2076 it, and have sacrificed [H8799] H559 thereunto, and said [H8799] H430 , These be thy gods H3478 , O Israel H5927 , which have brought thee up [H8689] H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt.

9 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H7200 , I have seen [H8804] H5971 this people H7186 , and, behold, it is a stiffnecked H6203 H5971 people:

10 H3240 Now therefore let me alone [H8685] H639 , that my wrath H2734 may wax hot [H8799] H3615 against them, and that I may consume [H8762] H6213 them: and I will make [H8799] H1419 of thee a great H1471 nation.

11 H4872 And Moses H2470 besought [H8762] H6440 H3068 the LORD H430 his God H559 , and said [H8799] H3068 , LORD H639 , why doth thy wrath H2734 wax hot [H8799] H5971 against thy people H3318 , which thou hast brought forth [H8689] H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt H1419 with great H3581 power H2389 , and with a mighty H3027 hand?

12 H4714 Wherefore should the Egyptians H559 speak [H8799] H559 , and say [H8800] H7451 , For mischief H3318 did he bring [H8689] H2026 them out, to slay [H8800] H2022 them in the mountains H3615 , and to consume [H8763] H6440 them from the face H127 of the earth H7725 ? Turn [H8798] H2740 from thy fierce H639 wrath H5162 , and repent [H8734] H7451 of this evil H5971 against thy people.

13 H2142 Remember [H8798] H85 Abraham H3327 , Isaac H3478 , and Israel H5650 , thy servants H7650 , to whom thou swarest [H8738] H1696 by thine own self, and saidst [H8762] H7235 unto them, I will multiply [H8686] H2233 your seed H3556 as the stars H8064 of heaven H776 , and all this land H559 that I have spoken [H8804] H5414 of will I give [H8799] H2233 unto your seed H5157 , and they shall inherit [H8804] H5769 it for ever.

14 H3068 And the LORD H5162 repented [H8735] H7451 of the evil H1696 which he thought [H8765] H6213 to do [H8800] H5971 unto his people.

15 H4872 And Moses H6437 turned [H8799] H3381 , and went down [H8799] H2022 from the mount H8147 , and the two H3871 tables H5715 of the testimony H3027 were in his hand H3871 : the tables H3789 were written [H8803] H8147 on both H5676 their sides H3789 ; on the one side and on the other were they written [H8803] .

16 H3871 And the tables H4639 were the work H430 of God H4385 , and the writing H4385 was the writing H430 of God H2801 , graven [H8803] H3871 upon the tables.

17 H3091 And when Joshua H8085 heard [H8799] H6963 the noise H5971 of the people H7452 as they shouted H559 , he said [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H6963 , There is a noise H4421 of war H4264 in the camp.

18 H559 And he said [H8799] H6963 , It is not the voice H6030 of them that shout [H8800] H1369 for mastery H6963 , neither is it the voice H6030 of them that cry [H8800] H2476 for being overcome H6963 : but the noise H6031 of them that sing [H8763] H8085 do I hear [H8802] .

19 H7126 And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh [H8804] H4264 unto the camp H7200 , that he saw [H8799] H5695 the calf H4246 , and the dancing H4872 : and Moses H639 ' anger H2734 waxed hot [H8799] H7993 , and he cast [H8686] H3871 the tables H3027 out of his hands H7665 , and brake [H8762] H8478 them beneath H2022 the mount.

20 H3947 And he took [H8799] H5695 the calf H6213 which they had made [H8804] H8313 , and burnt [H8799] H784 it in the fire H2912 , and ground [H8799] H1854 it to powder [H8804] H2219 , and strawed [H8799] H6440 it upon H4325 the water H1121 , and made the children H3478 of Israel H8248 drink [H8686] of it .

21 H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799] H175 unto Aaron H6213 , What did [H8804] H5971 this people H935 unto thee, that thou hast brought [H8689] H1419 so great H2401 a sin upon them?

22 H175 And Aaron H559 said [H8799] H639 , Let not the anger H113 of my lord H2734 wax hot [H8799] H3045 : thou knowest [H8804] H5971 the people H7451 , that they are set on mischief.

23 H559 For they said [H8799] H6213 unto me, Make [H8798] H430 us gods H3212 , which shall go [H8799] H6440 before H4872 us: for as for this Moses H376 , the man H5927 that brought us up [H8689] H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt H3045 , we wot [H8804] not what is become of him.

24 H559 And I said [H8799] H2091 unto them, Whosoever hath any gold H6561 , let them break [H8690] H5414 it off. So they gave [H8799] H7993 it me: then I cast [H8686] H784 it into the fire H3318 , and there came out [H8799] H5695 this calf.

25 H4872 And when Moses H7200 saw [H8799] H5971 that the people H6544 were naked [H8803] H175 ; (for Aaron H6544 had made them naked [H8804] H8103 unto their shame H6965 among their enemies [H8801] :)

26 H4872 Then Moses H5975 stood [H8799] H8179 in the gate H4264 of the camp H559 , and said [H8799] H3068 , Who is on the LORD'S H1121 side? let him come unto me. And all the sons H3878 of Levi H622 gathered [H8735] themselves together unto him.

27 H559 And he said [H8799] H559 unto them, Thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H7760 , Put [H8798] H376 every man H2719 his sword H3409 by his side H5674 , and go [H8798] H7725 in and out [H8798] H8179 from gate H8179 to gate H4264 throughout the camp H2026 , and slay [H8798] H376 every man H251 his brother H376 , and every man H7453 his companion H376 , and every man H7138 his neighbour.

28 H1121 And the children H3878 of Levi H6213 did [H8799] H1697 according to the word H4872 of Moses H5307 : and there fell [H8799] H5971 of the people H3117 that day H7969 about three H505 thousand H376 men.

29 H4872 For Moses H559 had said [H8799] H4390 , Consecrate yourselves [H8798] H3027 H3117 to day H3068 to the LORD H3588 , even H376 every man H1121 upon his son H251 , and upon his brother H5414 ; that he may bestow [H8800] H1293 upon you a blessing H3117 this day.

30 H4283 And it came to pass on the morrow H4872 , that Moses H559 said [H8799] H5971 unto the people H2398 , Ye have sinned [H8804] H1419 a great H2401 sin H5927 : and now I will go up [H8799] H3068 unto the LORD H194 ; peradventure H3722 I shall make an atonement [H8762] H1157 for H2403 your sin.

31 H4872 And Moses H7725 returned [H8799] H3068 unto the LORD H559 , and said [H8799] H577 , Oh H5971 , this people H2398 have sinned [H8804] H1419 a great H2401 sin H6213 , and have made [H8799] H430 them gods H2091 of gold.

32 H5375 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive [H8799] H2403 their sin H4229 --; and if not, blot [H8798] H5612 me, I pray thee, out of thy book H3789 which thou hast written [H8804] .

33 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H834 , Whosoever H2398 hath sinned [H8804] H4229 against me, him will I blot out [H8799] H5612 of my book.

34 H3212 Therefore now go [H8798] H5148 , lead [H8798] H5971 the people H1696 unto the place of which I have spoken [H8765] H4397 unto thee: behold, mine Angel H3212 shall go [H8799] H6440 before H3117 thee: nevertheless in the day H6485 when I visit [H8800] H6485 I will visit [H8804] H2403 their sin upon them.

35 H3068 And the LORD H5062 plagued [H8799] H5971 the people H834 , because H6213 they made [H8804] H5695 the calf H834 , which H175 Aaron H6213 made [H8804] .
