H609 Then Asa H3318 brought out [H8686]   H3701 silver H2091 and gold H214 out of the treasures H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H4428 and of the king's H1004 house H7971 , and sent [H8799]   H1130 to Benhadad H4428 king H758 of Syria H3427 , that dwelt [H8802]   H1834 at Damascus H559 , saying [H8800]  ,
H1285 There is a league H1 between me and thee, as there was between my father H1 and thy father H7971 : behold, I have sent [H8804]   H3701 thee silver H2091 and gold H3212 ; go [H8798]   H6565 , break [H8685]   H1285 thy league H1201 with Baasha H4428 king H3478 of Israel H5927 , that he may depart [H8799]   from me.
H1130 And Benhadad H8085 hearkened [H8799]   H4428 unto king H609 Asa H7971 , and sent [H8799]   H8269 the captains H2428 of his armies H5892 against the cities H3478 of Israel H5221 ; and they smote [H8686]   H5859 Ijon H1835 , and Dan H66 , and Abelmaim H4543 , and all the store H5892 cities H5321 of Naphtali.
H1201 And it came to pass, when Baasha H8085 heard [H8800]   H2308 it, that he left off [H8799]   H1129 building [H8800]   H7414 of Ramah H4399 , and let his work H7673 cease [H8686]  .
H609 Then Asa H4428 the king H3947 took [H8804]   H3063 all Judah H5375 ; and they carried away [H8799]   H68 the stones H7414 of Ramah H6086 , and the timber H1201 thereof, wherewith Baasha H1129 was building [H8804]   H1129 ; and he built [H8799]   H1387 therewith Geba H4709 and Mizpah.
H6256 And at that time H2607 Hanani H7200 the seer [H8802]   H935 came [H8804]   H609 to Asa H4428 king H3063 of Judah H559 , and said [H8799]   H8172 unto him, Because thou hast relied [H8736]   H4428 on the king H758 of Syria H8172 , and not relied [H8738]   H3068 on the LORD H430 thy God H2428 , therefore is the host H4428 of the king H758 of Syria H4422 escaped [H8738]   H3027 out of thine hand.
H3569 Were not the Ethiopians H3864 and the Lubims H7230 a huge H2428 host H3966 , with very H7235 many [H8687]   H7393 chariots H6571 and horsemen H8172 ? yet, because thou didst rely [H8736]   H3068 on the LORD H5414 , he delivered [H8804]   H3027 them into thine hand.
H5869 For the eyes H3068 of the LORD H7751 run to and fro [H8789]   H776 throughout the whole earth H2388 , to shew himself strong [H8692]   H3824 in the behalf of them whose heart H8003 is perfect H5528 toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly [H8738]   H6258 : therefore from henceforth H3426 thou shalt have H4421 wars.
H609 Then Asa H3707 was wroth [H8799]   H7200 with the seer [H8802]   H5414 , and put [H8799]   H4115 him in a prison H1004 house H2197 ; for he was in a rage H609 with him because of this thing . And Asa H7533 oppressed [H8762]   H5971 some of the people H6256 the same time.
H1697 And, behold, the acts H609 of Asa H7223 , first H314 and last H3789 , lo, they are written [H8803]   H5612 in the book H4428 of the kings H3063 of Judah H3478 and Israel.
H609 And Asa H7970 in the thirty H8672 and ninth H8141 year H4438 of his reign H2456 was diseased [H8799]   H7272 in his feet H2483 , until his disease H4605 was exceeding H2483 great : yet in his disease H1875 he sought [H8804]   H3068 not to the LORD H7495 , but to the physicians [H8802]  .
H609 And Asa H7901 slept [H8799]   H1 with his fathers H4191 , and died [H8799]   H259 in the one H705 and fortieth H8141 year H4427 of his reign [H8800]  .
H6912 And they buried [H8799]   H6913 him in his own sepulchres H3738 , which he had made [H8804]   H5892 for himself in the city H1732 of David H7901 , and laid [H8686]   H4904 him in the bed H4390 which was filled [H8765]   H1314 with sweet odours H2177 and divers kinds H7543 of spices prepared [H8794]   H4842 by the apothecaries H4639 ' art H8313 : and they made [H8799]   H3966 a very H1419 great H8316 burning for him.
KJV(i) 1 In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. 2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying, 3 There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me. 4 And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali. 5 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease. 6 Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah. 7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand. 8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand. 9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. 10 Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time. 11 And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. 12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. 13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign. 14 And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odorous and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' art: and they made a very great burning for him.
