KJV_Strongs(i)
H3117 But it came to pass within a while after H3117 , in the time H2406 of wheat H7105 harvest H8123 , that Samson H6485 visited [H8799]   H802 his wife H1423 with a kid H5795   H559 ; and he said [H8799]   H935 , I will go in [H8799]   H802 to my wife H2315 into the chamber H1 . But her father H5414 would not suffer [H8804]   H935 him to go in [H8800]  .
H1 And her father H559 said [H8799]   H559 , I verily [H8800]   H559 thought [H8804]   H8130 that thou hadst utterly [H8800]   H8130 hated [H8804]   H5414 her; therefore I gave [H8799]   H4828 her to thy companion H6996 : is not her younger H269 sister H2896 fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.
H8123 And Samson H559 said [H8799]   H6471 concerning them, Now H5352 shall I be more blameless [H8738]   H6430 than the Philistines H6213 , though I do [H8802]   H7451 them a displeasure.
H8123 And Samson H3212 went [H8799]   H3920 and caught [H8799]   H7969 three H3967 hundred H7776 foxes H3947 , and took [H8799]   H3940 firebrands H6437 , and turned [H8686]   H2180 tail H2180 to tail H7760 , and put [H8799]   H259 a H3940 firebrand H8432 in the midst H8147 between two H2180 tails.
H1197 And when he had set [H8686]   H3940 the brands H784 on fire H7971 , he let them go [H8762]   H7054 into the standing corn H6430 of the Philistines H1197 , and burnt up [H8686]   H1430 both the shocks H7054 , and also the standing corn H3754 , with the vineyards H2132 and olives.
H6430 Then the Philistines H559 said [H8799]   H6213 , Who hath done [H8804]   H559 this? And they answered [H8799]   H8123 , Samson H2860 , the son in law H8554 of the Timnite H3947 , because he had taken [H8804]   H802 his wife H5414 , and given [H8799]   H4828 her to his companion H6430 . And the Philistines H5927 came up [H8799]   H8313 , and burnt [H8799]   H1 her and her father H784 with fire.
H8123 And Samson H559 said [H8799]   H518 unto them, Though H6213 ye have done [H8799]   H2063 this H5358 , yet will I be avenged [H8738]   H310 of you, and after H2308 that I will cease [H8799]  .
H5221 And he smote [H8686]   H7785 them hip H5921 and H3409 thigh H1419 with a great H4347 slaughter H3381 : and he went down [H8799]   H3427 and dwelt [H8799]   H5585 in the top H5553 of the rock H5862 Etam.
H6430 Then the Philistines H5927 went up [H8799]   H2583 , and pitched [H8799]   H3063 in Judah H5203 , and spread [H8735]   H3896 themselves in Lehi.
H376 And the men H3063 of Judah H559 said [H8799]   H5927 , Why are ye come up [H8804]   H559 against us? And they answered [H8799]   H631 , To bind [H8800]   H8123 Samson H5927 are we come up [H8804]   H6213 , to do [H8800]   H6213 to him as he hath done [H8804]   to us.
H7969 Then three H505 thousand H376 men H3063 of Judah H3381 went [H8799]   H5585 to the top H5553 of the rock H5862 Etam H559 , and said [H8799]   H8123 to Samson H3045 , Knowest [H8804]   H6430 thou not that the Philistines H4910 are rulers [H8802]   H6213 over us? what is this that thou hast done [H8804]   H559 unto us? And he said [H8799]   H6213 unto them, As they did [H8804]   H6213 unto me, so have I done [H8804]   unto them.
H559 And they said [H8799]   H3381 unto him, We are come down [H8804]   H631 to bind [H8800]   H5414 thee, that we may deliver [H8800]   H3027 thee into the hand H6430 of the Philistines H8123 . And Samson H559 said [H8799]   H7650 unto them, Swear [H8734]   H6293 unto me, that ye will not fall upon [H8799]   me yourselves.
H559 And they spake [H8799]   H559 unto him, saying [H8800]   H631 , No; but we will bind [H8799]   H631 thee fast [H8800]   H5414 , and deliver [H8804]   H3027 thee into their hand H4191 : but surely [H8687]   H4191 we will not kill [H8686]   H631 thee. And they bound [H8799]   H8147 him with two H2319 new H5688 cords H5927 , and brought him up [H8686]   H5553 from the rock.
H935 And when he came [H8804]   H3896 unto Lehi H6430 , the Philistines H7321 shouted [H8689]   H7125 against [H8800]   H7307 him: and the Spirit H3068 of the LORD H6743 came mightily [H8799]   H5688 upon him, and the cords H2220 that were upon his arms H6593 became as flax H1197 that was burnt [H8804]   H784 with fire H612 , and his bands H4549 loosed [H8735]   H3027 from off his hands.
H4672 And he found [H8799]   H2961 a new H3895 jawbone H2543 of an ass H7971 , and put forth [H8799]   H3027 his hand H3947 , and took [H8799]   H5221 it, and slew [H8686]   H505 a thousand H376 men therewith.
H8123 And Samson H559 said [H8799]   H3895 , With the jawbone H2543 of an ass H2565 , heaps H2565 upon heaps H3895 , with the jaw H2543 of an ass H5221 have I slain [H8689]   H505 a thousand H376 men.
H3615 And it came to pass, when he had made an end [H8763]   H1696 of speaking [H8763]   H7993 , that he cast away [H8686]   H3895 the jawbone H3027 out of his hand H7121 , and called [H8799]   H4725 that place H7437 Ramathlehi.
H3966 And he was sore H6770 athirst [H8799]   H7121 , and called [H8799]   H3068 on the LORD H559 , and said [H8799]   H5414 , Thou hast given [H8804]   H1419 this great H8668 deliverance H3027 into the hand H5650 of thy servant H4191 : and now shall I die [H8799]   H6772 for thirst H5307 , and fall [H8804]   H3027 into the hand H6189 of the uncircumcised?
H430 But God H1234 clave [H8799]   H4388 an hollow place H3895 that was in the jaw H3318 , and there came [H8799]   H4325 water H8354 thereout; and when he had drunk [H8799]   H7307 , his spirit H7725 came again [H8799]   H2421 , and he revived [H8799]   H7121 : wherefore he called [H8802]   H8034 the name H5875 thereof Enhakkore H3896 , which is in Lehi H3117 unto this day.
H8199 And he judged [H8799]   H3478 Israel H3117 in the days H6430 of the Philistines H6242 twenty H8141 years.
ERV(i) 1 But it came to pass after a while, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in. 2 And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her. 3 And Samson said unto them, This time shall I be blameless in regard of the Philistines, when I do them a mischief. 4 And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between every two tails. 5 And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks and the standing corn, and also the oliveyards. 6 Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they said, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he hath taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire. 7 And Samson said unto them, If ye do after this manner, surely I will be avenged of you, and after that I will cease. 8 And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock of Etam. 9 Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi. 10 And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they said, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us. 11 Then three thousand men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what then is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them. 12 And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves. 13 And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new ropes, and brought him up from the rock. 14 When he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted as they met him: and the spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the ropes that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands dropped from off his hands. 15 And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and smote a thousand men therewith. 16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of an ass have I smitten a thousand men. 17 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand; and that place was called Ramath-lehi. 18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance by the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised. 19 But God clave the hollow place that is in Lehi, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore the name thereof was called En-hakkore, which is in Lehi, unto this day. 20 And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.
