Genesis 44 And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

2 H7760 [H8799] And put H1375 my cup, H3701 the silver H1375 cup, H572 in the sack's H6310 mouth H6996 of the youngest, H7668 and his grain H3701 money. H6213 [H8799] And he did H1697 according to the word H3130 that Joseph H1696 [H8765] had spoken.

3 H1242 As soon as the morning H215 [H8804] was light, H582 the men H7971 [H8795] were sent away, H2543 they and their donkeys.

4 H3318 [H8804] And when they had gone out H5892 of the city, H7368 [H8689] and were not yet far off, H3130 Joseph H559 [H8804] said H1004 to his steward, H6965 [H8798] Arise, H7291 [H8798] follow H310 after H582 the men; H5381 [H8689] and when thou dost overtake H559 [H8804] them, say H7999 [H8765] to them, Why have ye rewarded H7451 evil H2896 for good?

5 H113 Is not this the cup in which my lord H8354 [H8799] drinketh, H5172 [H8763] and by which indeed H5172 [H8762] he divineth? H7489 [H8689] ye have done evil H6213 [H8804] in so doing.

6 H5381 [H8686] And he overtook H1696 [H8762] them, and he spoke H428 to them these same H1697 words.

7 H559 [H8799] And they said H1696 [H8762] to him, Why saith H113 my lord H1697 these words? H2486 Far be it from us H5650 that thy servants H6213 [H8800] should do H1697 according to this thing:

8 H3701 Behold, the money, H4672 [H8804] which we found H572 in our sacks' H6310 mouths, H7725 [H8689] we brought again H776 to thee from the land H3667 of Canaan: H1589 [H8799] how then should we steal H113 from thy lord's H1004 house H3701 silver H2091 or gold?

9 H5650 With whomever of thy servants H4672 [H8735] it shall be found, H4191 [H8804] both let him die, H113 and we also will be my lord's H5650 slaves.

10 H559 [H8799] And he said, H1697 Now also let it be according to your words: H3651 H4672 [H8735] he with whom it shall be found H5650 shall be my servant; H5355 and ye shall be blameless.

11 H4116 [H8762] Then they speedily H3381 [H8686] took down H376 every man H572 his sack H776 to the earth, H6605 [H8799] and opened H376 every man H572 his sack.

12 H2664 [H8762] And he searched, H2490 [H8689] and began H1419 at the eldest, H3615 [H8765] and stopped H6996 at the youngest: H1375 and the cup H4672 [H8735] was found H1144 in Benjamin's H572 sack.

14 H3063 And Judah H251 and his brethren H935 [H8799] came H3130 to Joseph's H1004 house; H5307 [H8799] for he was yet there: and they fell H6440 before him H776 on the earth.

15 H3130 And Joseph H559 [H8799] said H4639 to them, What deed H6213 [H8804] is this that ye have done? H3045 [H8804] knew ye H376 not that such a man H5172 [H8763] as I can certainly H5172 [H8762] divine?

16 H3063 And Judah H559 [H8799] said, H559 [H8799] What shall we say H113 to my lord? H1696 [H8762] what shall we speak? H6663 [H8691] or how shall we clear ourselves? H430 God H4672 [H8804] hath found out H5771 the perversity H5650 of thy servants: H113 behold, we are my lord's H5650 servants, H1571 both we, and he also H834 H3027 with whom H1375 the cup H4672 [H8738] is found.

17 H559 [H8799] And he said, H2486 Far be it from me H6213 [H8800] that I should do H2063 so: H376 the man H3027 in whose hand H1375 the cup H4672 [H8738] is found, H5650 he shall be my servant; H5927 [H8798] and as for you, go H7965 in peace H1 to your father.

18 H3063 Then Judah H5066 [H8799] came near H559 [H8799] to him, and said, H994 O H113 my lord, H5650 let thy servant, H1696 [H8762] I pray thee, speak H1697 a word H113 in my lord's H241 ears, H639 and let not thy anger H2734 [H8799] burn H5650 against thy servant: H6547 for thou art even as Pharaoh.

19 H113 My lord H7592 [H8804] asked H5650 his servants, H559 [H8800] saying, H3426 Have H1 ye a father, H251 or a brother?

20 H559 [H8799] And we said H113 to my lord, H3426 We have H1 a father, H2205 an old man, H3206 and a child H2208 of his old age, H6996 a little one; H251 and his brother H4191 [H8804] is dead, H3498 [H8735] and he alone is left H517 of his mother, H1 and his father H157 [H8804] loveth him.

21 H559 [H8799] And thou saidst H5650 to thy servants, H3381 [H8685] Bring him down H7760 [H8799] to me, that I may set H5869 my eyes upon him.

22 H559 [H8799] And we said H113 to my lord, H5288 The lad H3201 [H8799] cannot H5800 [H8800] leave H1 his father: H5800 [H8804] for if he should leave H1 his father, H4191 [H8804] his father would die.

23 H559 [H8799] And thou saidst H5650 to thy servants, H3808 Except H6996 your youngest H251 brother H3381 [H8799] shall come down H7200 0 H3254 0 with you, ye shall see H6440 my face H7200 H3254 [H8800] no more.

24 H5927 [H8804] And it came to pass when we came H5650 to thy servant H1 my father, H5046 [H8686] we told H1697 him the words H113 of my lord.

25 H1 And our father H559 [H8799] said, H7725 [H8798] Go again, H7666 [H8798] buy H4592 us a little H400 food.

26 H559 [H8799] And we said, H3201 [H8799] We cannot H3381 [H8800] go down: H6996 if our youngest H251 brother H3426 shall be H3381 [H8804] with us, then will we go down: H3201 [H8799] for we may H7200 [H8800] not see H376 the man's H6440 face, H369 except H6996 our youngest H251 brother shall be with us.

27 H5650 And thy servant H1 my father H559 [H8799] said H3045 [H8804] to us, Ye know H802 that my wife H3205 [H8804] bore H8147 me two sons:

28 H259 And the one H3318 [H8799] went out H559 [H8799] from me, and I said, H2963 [H8800] Surely H2963 [H8776] he is torn in pieces; H7200 [H8804] and I have not seen him H2008 since:

29 H3947 [H8804] And if ye take H5973 this also from H6440 me, H611 and harm H7136 [H8804] shall befall him, H3381 [H8689] ye shall bring down H7872 my gray hairs H7451 with sorrow H7585 to the grave.

30 H935 [H8800] Now therefore when I come H5650 to thy servant H1 my father, H5288 and the lad H5315 is not with us; seeing that his life H7194 [H8803] is bound up H5315 in the lad's life;

31 H7200 [H8800] It shall come to pass, when he seeth H5288 that the lad H4191 [H8804] is not with us, that he will die: H5650 and thy servants H3381 [H8689] shall bring down H7872 the gray hairs H5650 of thy servant H1 our father H3015 with sorrow H7585 to the grave.

32 H5650 For thy servant H6148 [H8804] became surety H5288 for the lad H5973 to H1 my father, H559 [H8800] saying, H935 [H8686] If I bring H2398 [H8804] him not to thee, then I shall bear the blame H1 to my father H3117 for ever.

33 H5650 Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant H3427 [H8799] abide H5288 instead of the lad H5650 a slave H113 to my lord; H5288 and let the lad H5927 [H8799] return H251 with his brethren.

34 H349 For how H5927 [H8799] shall I return H1 to my father, H5288 and the lad H7200 [H8799] be not with me? lest perhaps I see H7451 the evil H4672 [H8799] that shall come on H1 my father.
