KJV_Strongs(i)
H3405 Now Jericho H5462 was straitly [H8802]   H5462 shut up [H8794]   H6440 because H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H3318 : none went out [H8802]   H935 , and none came in [H8802]  .
H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H3091 unto Joshua H7200 , See [H8798]   H5414 , I have given [H8804]   H3027 into thine hand H3405 Jericho H4428 , and the king H1368 thereof, and the mighty men H2428 of valour.
H5437 And ye shall compass [H8804]   H5892 the city H582 , all ye men H4421 of war H5362 , and go round about [H8687]   H5892 the city H6471 once H259   H6213 . Thus shalt thou do [H8799]   H8337 six H3117 days.
H7651 And seven H3548 priests H5375 shall bear [H8799]   H6440 before H727 the ark H7651 seven H7782 trumpets H3104 of rams' horns H7637 : and the seventh H3117 day H5437 ye shall compass [H8799]   H5892 the city H7651 seven H6471 times H3548 , and the priests H8628 shall blow [H8799]   H7782 with the trumpets.
H4900 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long [H8800]   H3104 blast with the ram's H7161 horn H8085 , and when ye hear [H8800]   H6963 the sound H7782 of the trumpet H5971 , all the people H7321 shall shout [H8686]   H1419 with a great H8643 shout H2346 ; and the wall H5892 of the city H5307 shall fall down [H8804]   H8478 flat H5971 , and the people H5927 shall ascend up [H8804]   H376 every man straight before him.
H3091 And Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H7121 called [H8799]   H3548 the priests H559 , and said [H8799]   H5375 unto them, Take up [H8798]   H727 the ark H1285 of the covenant H7651 , and let seven H3548 priests H5375 bear [H8799]   H7651 seven H7782 trumpets H3104 of rams' horns H6440 before H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD.
H559 And he said [H8799]   H5971 unto the people H5674 , Pass on [H8798]   H5437 , and compass [H8798]   H5892 the city H2502 , and let him that is armed [H8803]   H5674 pass on [H8799]   H6440 before H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD.
H3091 And it came to pass, when Joshua H559 had spoken [H8800]   H5971 unto the people H7651 , that the seven H3548 priests H5375 bearing [H8802]   H7651 the seven H7782 trumpets H3104 of rams' horns H5674 passed on [H8804]   H6440 before H3068 the LORD H8628 , and blew [H8804]   H7782 with the trumpets H727 : and the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H1980 followed [H8802]   H310 them.
H2502 And the armed [H8803]   H1980 men went [H8802]   H6440 before H3548 the priests H8628 that blew [H8802]   [H8675]   H8628   [H8804]   H7782 with the trumpets H622 , and the rereward [H8764]   H1980 came [H8802]   H310 after H727 the ark H1980 , the priests going on [H8800]   H8628 , and blowing [H8800]   H7782 with the trumpets.
H3091 And Joshua H6680 had commanded [H8765]   H5971 the people H559 , saying [H8800]   H7321 , Ye shall not shout [H8686]   H8085 , nor make any noise [H8686]   H6963 with your voice H1697 , neither shall any word H3318 proceed [H8799]   H6310 out of your mouth H3117 , until the day H559 I bid [H8800]   H7321 you shout [H8685]   H7321 ; then shall ye shout [H8689]  .
H727 So the ark H3068 of the LORD H5437 compassed [H8686]   H5892 the city H5362 , going about [H8687]   H6471 it once H259   H935 : and they came [H8799]   H4264 into the camp H3885 , and lodged [H8799]   H4264 in the camp.
H3091 And Joshua H7925 rose early [H8686]   H1242 in the morning H3548 , and the priests H5375 took up [H8799]   H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD.
H7651 And seven H3548 priests H5375 bearing [H8802]   H7651 seven H7782 trumpets H3104 of rams' horns H6440 before H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD H1980 went on [H8802]   H1980 continually [H8800]   H8628 , and blew [H8804]   H7782 with the trumpets H2502 : and the armed men [H8803]   H1980 went [H8802]   H6440 before H622 them; but the rereward [H8764]   H1980 came [H8802]   H310 after H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD H1980 , the priests going on [H8800]   H8628 , and blowing [H8800]   H7782 with the trumpets.
H8145 And the second H3117 day H5437 they compassed [H8799]   H5892 the city H6471 once H259   H7725 , and returned [H8799]   H4264 into the camp H6213 : so they did [H8804]   H8337 six H3117 days.
H7637 And it came to pass on the seventh H3117 day H7925 , that they rose early [H8686]   H5927 about the dawning [H8800]   H7837 of the day H5437 , and compassed [H8799]   H5892 the city H4941 after the same manner H7651 seven H6471 times H3117 : only on that day H5437 they compassed [H8804]   H5892 the city H7651 seven H6471 times.
H7637 And it came to pass at the seventh H6471 time H3548 , when the priests H8628 blew [H8804]   H7782 with the trumpets H3091 , Joshua H559 said [H8799]   H5971 unto the people H7321 , Shout [H8685]   H3068 ; for the LORD H5414 hath given [H8804]   H5892 you the city.
H5892 And the city H2764 shall be accursed H3068 , even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD H7343 : only Rahab H2181 the harlot [H8802]   H2421 shall live [H8799]   H1004 , she and all that are with her in the house H2244 , because she hid [H8689]   H4397 the messengers H7971 that we sent [H8804]  .
H7535 And ye, in any wise H8104 keep [H8798]   H2764 yourselves from the accursed thing H2763 , lest ye make yourselves accursed [H8686]   H3947 , when ye take [H8804]   H2764 of the accursed thing H7760 , and make [H8804]   H4264 the camp H3478 of Israel H2764 a curse H5916 , and trouble [H8804]   it.
H3701 But all the silver H2091 , and gold H3627 , and vessels H5178 of brass H1270 and iron H6944 , are consecrated H3068 unto the LORD H935 : they shall come [H8799]   H214 into the treasury H3068 of the LORD.
H5971 So the people H7321 shouted [H8686]   H8628 when the priests blew [H8799]   H7782 with the trumpets H5971 : and it came to pass, when the people H8085 heard [H8800]   H6963 the sound H7782 of the trumpet H5971 , and the people H7321 shouted [H8686]   H1419 with a great H8643 shout H2346 , that the wall H5307 fell down flat [H8799]   H5971 , so that the people H5927 went up [H8799]   H5892 into the city H376 , every man H3920 straight before him, and they took [H8799]   H5892 the city.
H2763 And they utterly destroyed [H8686]   H5892 all that was in the city H376 , both man H802 and woman H5288 , young H2205 and old H7794 , and ox H7716 , and sheep H2543 , and ass H6310 , with the edge H2719 of the sword.
H3091 But Joshua H559 had said [H8804]   H8147 unto the two H582 men H7270 that had spied out [H8764]   H776 the country H935 , Go [H8798]   H2181 into the harlot's [H8802]   H1004 house H3318 , and bring out [H8685]   H802 thence the woman H7650 , and all that she hath, as ye sware [H8738]   unto her.
H5288 And the young men H7270 that were spies [H8764]   H935 went in [H8799]   H3318 , and brought out [H8686]   H7343 Rahab H1 , and her father H517 , and her mother H251 , and her brethren H3318 , and all that she had; and they brought out [H8689]   H4940 all her kindred H3240 , and left [H8686]   H2351 them without H4264 the camp H3478 of Israel.
H8313 And they burnt [H8804]   H5892 the city H784 with fire H3701 , and all that was therein: only the silver H2091 , and the gold H3627 , and the vessels H5178 of brass H1270 and of iron H5414 , they put [H8804]   H214 into the treasury H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD.
H3091 And Joshua H2421 saved H7343 Rahab H2181 the harlot [H8802]   H2421 alive [H8689]   H1 , and her father's H1004 household H3427 , and all that she had; and she dwelleth [H8799]   H7130 in H3478 Israel H3117 even unto this day H2244 ; because she hid [H8689]   H4397 the messengers H3091 , which Joshua H7971 sent [H8804]   H7270 to spy out [H8763]   H3405 Jericho.
H3091 And Joshua H7650 adjured [H8686]   H6256 them at that time H559 , saying [H8800]   H779 , Cursed [H8803]   H376 be the man H6440 before H3068 the LORD H6965 , that riseth up [H8799]   H1129 and buildeth [H8804]   H5892 this city H3405 Jericho H3245 : he shall lay the foundation [H8762]   H1060 thereof in his firstborn H6810 , and in his youngest H5324 son shall he set up [H8686]   H1817 the gates of it.
H3068 So the LORD H3091 was with Joshua H8089 ; and his fame H776 was noised throughout all the country.
ERV(i) 1 (NOW Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.) 2 And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. 3 And ye shall compass the city, all the men of war, going about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. 5 And it shall be, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him. 6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD. 7 And they said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let the armed men pass on before the ark of the LORD. 8 And it was so, that when Joshua had spoken unto the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the LORD passed on, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. 9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew the trumpets, and the rearward went after the ark, [the priests] blowing with the trumpets as they went. 10 And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout. 11 So he caused the ark of the LORD to compass the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp. 12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. 13 And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets; and the armed men went before them; and the rearward came after the ark of the LORD, [the priests] blowing with the trumpets as they went. 14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days. 15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early at the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times. 16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. 17 And the city shall be devoted, even it and all that is therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. 18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the devoted thing, lest when ye have devoted it, ye take of the devoted thing; so should ye make the camp of Israel accursed, and trouble it. 19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are holy unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD. 20 So the people shouted, and [the priests] blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. 21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword. 22 And Joshua said unto the two men that had spied out the land, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her. 23 And the young men the spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had, all her kindred also they brought out; and they set them without the camp of Israel. 24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD. 25 But Rahab the harlot, and her father’s household, and all that she had, did Joshua save alive; and she dwelt in the midst of Israel, unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. 26 And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his firstborn shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it. 27 So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.
