H6213 And I will make of thee [H8799]   H1419 a great H1471 nation H1288 , and I will bless [H8762]   H1431 thee, and make H8034 thy name H1431 great [H8762]   H1293 ; and thou shalt be a blessing:
H1288 And I will bless [H8762]   H1288 them that bless [H8764]   H779 thee, and curse [H8799]   H7043 him that curseth [H8764]   H4940 thee: and in thee shall all families H127 of the earth H1288 be blessed [H8738]  .
H87 So Abram H3212 departed [H8799]   H3068 , as the LORD H1696 had spoken [H8765]   H3876 unto him; and Lot H3212 went [H8799]   H87 with him: and Abram H7657 was seventy H8141   H2568 and five H8141 years H1121 old H3318 when he departed [H8800]   H2771 out of Haran.

H87 And Abram H5674 passed through [H8799]   H776 the land H4725 unto the place H7927 of Sichem H436 , unto the plain H4176 of Moreh H3669 . And the Canaanite H227 was then H776 in the land.
H3068 And the LORD H7200 appeared [H8735]   H87 unto Abram H559 , and said [H8799]   H2233 , Unto thy seed H5414 will I give [H8799]   H2063 this H776 land H1129 : and there builded [H8799]   H4196 he an altar H3068 unto the LORD H7200 , who appeared [H8737]   unto him.
H6275 And he removed [H8686]   H2022 from thence unto a mountain H6924 on the east H1008 of Bethel H5186 , and pitched [H8799]   H168 his tent H1008 , having Bethel H3220 on the west H5857 , and Hai H6924 on the east H1129 : and there he builded [H8799]   H4196 an altar H3068 unto the LORD H7121 , and called [H8799]   H8034 upon the name H3068 of the LORD.
H87 And Abram H5265 journeyed [H8799]   H1980 , going on [H8800]   H5265 still [H8800]   H5045 toward the south.
H7458 And there was a famine H776 in the land H87 : and Abram H3381 went down [H8799]   H4714 into Egypt H1481 to sojourn [H8800]   H7458 there; for the famine H3515 was grievous H776 in the land.
H834 And it came to pass, when H7126 he was come near [H8689]   H935 to enter [H8800]   H4714 into Egypt H559 , that he said [H8799]   H8297 unto Sarai H802 his wife H2009 , Behold H4994 now H3045 , I know [H8804]   H3303 that thou art a fair H802 woman H4758 to look upon:
H4713 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians H7200 shall see [H8799]   H559 thee, that they shall say [H8804]   H802 , This is his wife H2026 : and they will kill [H8804]   H2421 me, but they will save thee alive [H8762]  .
H559 Say [H8798]   H4994 , I pray thee H269 , thou art my sister H4616 : that H3190 it may be well [H8799]   H5315 with me for thy sake; and my soul H2421 shall live [H8804]   H1558 because of thee.
H87 And it came to pass, that, when Abram H935 was come [H8800]   H4714 into Egypt H4713 , the Egyptians H7200 beheld [H8799]   H802 the woman H3966 that she was very H3303 fair.
H8269 The princes H6547 also of Pharaoh H7200 saw [H8799]   H1984 her, and commended [H8762]   H413 her before H6547 Pharaoh H802 : and the woman H3947 was taken [H8714]   H6547 into Pharaoh's H1004 house.
H3190 And he entreated H87 Abram H3190 well [H8689]   H6629 for her sake: and he had sheep H1241 , and oxen H2543 , and he asses H5650 , and menservants H8198 , and maidservants H860 , and she asses H1581 , and camels.
H3068 And the LORD H5060 plagued [H8762]   H6547 Pharaoh H1004 and his house H1419 with great H5061 plagues H1697 because of H8297 Sarai H87 Abram's H802 wife.

H559 Why saidst thou [H8804]   H269 , She is my sister H3947 ? so I might have taken [H8799]   H802 her to me to wife H802 : now therefore behold thy wife H3947 , take [H8798]   H3212 her, and go thy way [H8798]  .
H6547 And Pharaoh H6680 commanded [H8762]   H582 his men H7971 concerning him: and they sent him away [H8762]   H802 , and his wife, and all that he had.
ERV(i) 1 Now the LORD said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will shew thee: 2 and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing: 3 and I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram went, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. 5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. 6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. 7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. 8 And he removed from thence unto the mountain on the east of Beth-el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and Ai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD. 9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South. 10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was sore in the land. 11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon: 12 and it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. 13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake, and that my soul may live because of thee. 14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair. 15 And the princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house. 16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she-asses, and camels. 17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife. 18 And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife? 19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so that I took her to be my wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way. 20 And Pharaoh gave men charge concerning him: and they brought him on the way, and his wife, and all that he had.
