G1161 And G3326 after G4002 five G2250 days G367 Ananias G749 the high priest G2597 descended [G5627]   G3326 with G4245 the elders G2532 , and G5100 with a certain G4489 orator G5061 named Tertullus G3748 , who G1718 informed [G5656]   G2232 the governor G2596 against G3972 Paul.
G1161 And G846 when he G2564 was called forth [G5685]   G5061 , Tertullus G756 began [G5662]   G2723 to accuse [G5721]   G3004 him, saying [G5723]   G1223 , Seeing that by G4675 thee G5177 we enjoy [G5723]   G4183 great G1515 quietness G2532 , and G2735 that very worthy deeds G1096 are done [G5740]   G5129 unto this G1484 nation G1223 by G4674 thy G4307 providence,
G5037   G588 We accept [G5736]   G3839 it always G2532 , and G3837 in all places G2903 , most noble G5344 Felix G3326 , with G3956 all G2169 thankfulness.
G1161 Notwithstanding G3363 , that G4119 I be G3363 not G1909   G4119 further G1465 tedious [G5725]   G4571 unto thee G3870 , I pray [G5719]   G4571 thee G191 that thou wouldest hear [G5658]   G2257 us G4674 of thy G1932 clemency G4935 a few words.
G1063 For G2147 we have found [G5631]   G5126 this G435 man G3061 a pestilent G2532 fellow, and G2795 a mover [G5723]   G4714 of sedition G3956 among all G2453 the Jews G2596 throughout G3625 the world G5037 , and G4414 a ringleader G139 of the sect G3480 of the Nazarenes:
G3739 Who G2532 also G3985 hath gone about [G5707]   G953 to profane [G5658]   G2411 the temple G2532 : G3739 whom G2902 we took [G5656]   G2532 , and G2309 would [G5656]   G2919 have judged [G5721]   G2596 according G2251 to our G3551 law.
G1161 But G5506 the chief captain G3079 Lysias G3928 came [G5631]   G3326 upon us, and with G4183 great G970 violence G520 took him away [G5627]   G1537 out of G2257 our G5495 hands,
G2753 Commanding [G5660]   G846 his G2725 accusers G2064 to come [G5738]   G1909 unto G4571 thee G350 : by examining [G5660]   G3844 of G3739 whom G846 thyself G1410 mayest [G5695]   G1921 take knowledge [G5629]   G4012 of G3956 all G5130 these things G3739 , whereof G2249 we G2723 accuse [G5719]   G846 him.
G1161 And G2453 the Jews G2532 also G4934 assented [G5639]   G5335 , saying [G5723]   G5023 that these things G2192 were [G5721]   G3779 so.
G1161 Then G3972 Paul G2232 , after that the governor G3506 had beckoned [G5660]   G846 unto him G3004 to speak [G5721]   G611 , answered [G5662]   G1987 , Forasmuch as I know [G5740]   G4571 that thou G5607 hast been [G5752]   G1537 of G4183 many G2094 years G2923 a judge G5129 unto this G1484 nation G626 , I do G2115 the more cheerfully G626 answer [G5736]   G4012 for G1683 myself:
G4675 Because that thou G1410 mayest [G5740]   G1097 understand [G5629]   G3754 , that G1526 there are [G5748]   G2228 yet but G3756   G1177 twelve G2250 days G4119   G575 since G3739   G3427 I G305 went up [G5627]   G1722 to G2419 Jerusalem G4352 for to worship [G5694]  .
G2532 And G3777 they neither G2147 found [G5627]   G3165 me G1722 in G2411 the temple G1256 disputing [G5740]   G4314 with G5100 any man G2228 , neither G1999 raising up G4160   [G5723]   G3793 the people G1999   G3777 , neither G1722 in G4864 the synagogues G3777 , nor G2596 in G4172 the city:
G3777 Neither G1410 can [G5736]   G3936 they prove [G5658]   G3165   G4012 the things G3739 whereof G2723 they G3568 now G2723 accuse [G5719]   G3450 me.
G1161 But G5124 this G3670 I confess [G5719]   G4671 unto thee G3754 , that G2596 after G3598 the way G3739 which G3004 they call [G5719]   G139 heresy G3779 , so G3000 worship I [G5719]   G2316 the God G3971 of my fathers G4100 , believing [G5723]   G3956 all things G3588 which G1125 are written [G5772]   G2596 in G3551 the law G2532 and G1722 in G4396 the prophets:
G2192 And have [G5723]   G1680 hope G1519 toward G2316 God G3739 , which G3778 they G846 themselves G2532 also G4327 allow [G5736]   G3195 , that there shall be [G5721]   G1510   [G5705]   G386 a resurrection G3498 of the dead G5037 , both G1342 of the just G2532 and G94 unjust.
G1161 And G1722 herein G5129   G778 do I exercise [G5719]   G846 myself G2192 , to have [G5721]   G1275 always G4893 a conscience G677 void of offence G4314 toward G2316 God G2532 , and G444 toward men.
G1161 Now G1223 after G4119 many G2094 years G3854 I came [G5633]   G4160 to bring [G5694]   G1654 alms G1519 to G3450 my G1484 nation G2532 , and G4376 offerings.
G1161   G1722 Whereupon G3739   G5100 certain G2453 Jews G575 from G773 Asia G2147 found [G5627]   G3165 me G48 purified [G5772]   G1722 in G2411 the temple G3756 , neither G3326 with G3793 multitude G3761 , nor G3326 with G2351 tumult.
G3739 Who G1163 ought [G5748]   [G5625]   G1163   [G5713]   G3918 to have been here [G5750]   G1909 before G4675 thee G2532 , and G2723 object [G5721]   G1536 , if G2192 they had [G5722]   G1536 ought G4314 against G3165 me.
G2228 Or else G2036 let G846 these G3778 same G2036 here say [G5628]   G1536 , if G2147 they have found [G5627]   G1536 any G92 evil doing G1722 in G1698 me G3450 , while I G2476 stood [G5631]   G1909 before G4892 the council,
G2228 Except G4012 it be for G5026 this G3391 one G5456 voice G3739 , that G2896 I cried [G5656]   G2476 standing [G5761]   G1722 among G846 them G3754 , Touching G4012   G386 the resurrection G3498 of the dead G1473 I G2919 am called in question [G5743]   G5259 by G5216 you G4594 this day.
G1161 And G5344 when Felix G191 heard [G5660]   G5023 these things G197 , having more perfect G1492 knowledge [G5761]   G4012 of G3598 that way G306 , he deferred [G5639]   G846 them G2036 , and said [G5631]   G3752 , When G3079 Lysias G5506 the chief captain G2597 shall come down [G5632]   G1231 , I will know the uttermost [G5695]   G5209 of your G2596 matter.
G5037 And G1299 he commanded [G5671]   G1543 a centurion G5083 to keep [G5745]   G3972 Paul G5037 , and G2192 to let him have [G5721]   G425 liberty G2532 , and G2967 that he should forbid [G5721]   G3367 none G846 of his G2398 acquaintance G5256 to minister [G5721]   G2228 or G4334 come [G5738]   G846 unto him.
G1161 And G3326 after G5100 certain G2250 days G5344 , when Felix G3854 came [G5637]   G4862 with G846 his G1135 wife G1409 Drusilla G5607 , which was [G5752]   G2453 a Jewess G3343 , he sent for [G5662]   G3972 Paul G2532 , and G191 heard [G5656]   G846 him G4012 concerning G4102 the faith G1519 in G5547 Christ.
G1161 And G846 as he G1256 reasoned [G5740]   G4012 of G1343 righteousness G2532 , temperance G1466   G2532 , and G2917 judgment G3195 to come [G5723]   G1510   [G5705]   G5344 , Felix G1096 trembled [G5637]   G1719   G611 , and answered [G5662]   G4198 , Go thy way [G5737]   G3568 for this time G1161 ; when G2192 I have [G5723]   G3335   [G5631]   G2540 a convenient season G3333 , I will call for [G5698]   G4571 thee.
G1679 He hoped [G5723]   G260 also G1161   G2532   G3754 that G5536 money G1325 should have been given [G5701]   G846 him G5259 of G3972 Paul G3704 , that G3089 he might loose [G5661]   G846 him G1352 : wherefore G3343 he sent for [G5740]   G846 him G4437 the oftener G2532 , and G3656 communed with [G5707]   G846 him.
G1161 But G4137 after [G5685]   G1333 two years G4201 Porcius G5347 Festus G2983 came [G5627]   G5344 into Felix G1240 ' room G5037 : and G5344 Felix G2309 , willing [G5723]   G2698 to shew [G5641]   G2453 the Jews G5485 a pleasure G2641 , left [G5627]   G3972 Paul G1210 bound [G5772]  .
ERV(i) 1 And after five days the high priest Ananias came down with certain elders, and [with] an orator, one Tertullus; and they informed the governor against Paul. 2 And when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy much peace, and that by thy providence evils are corrected for this nation, 3 we accept it in all ways and in all places, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness. 4 But, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I entreat thee to hear us of thy clemency a few words. 5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes: 6 who moreover assayed to profane the temple: on whom also we laid hold: 7 8 from whom thou wilt be able, by examining him thyself, to take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him. 9 And the Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that these things were so. 10 And when the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, Paul answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do cheerfully make my defence: 11 seeing that thou canst take knowledge, that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem: 12 and neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any man or stirring up a crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city. 13 Neither can they prove to thee the things whereof they now accuse me. 14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the Way which they call a sect, so serve I the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets: 15 having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and unjust. 16 Herein do I also exercise myself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and men alway. 17 Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings: 18 amidst which they found me purified in the temple, with no crowd, nor yet with tumult: but [there were] certain Jews from Asia— 19 who ought to have been here before thee, and to make accusation, if they had aught against me. 20 Or else let these men themselves say what wrong-doing they found, when I stood before the council, 21 except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question before you this day. 22 But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will determine your matter. 23 And he gave order to the centurion that he should be kept in charge, and should have indulgence; and not to forbid any of his friends to minister unto him. 24 But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, which was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus. 25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, and temperance, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me. 26 He hoped withal that money would be given him of Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him. 27 But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favour with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.
