  1 H3068 And Jehovah H1696 spake H4872 unto Moses H6160 in the plains H4124 of Moab H3383 by the Jordan H3405 at Jericho, H559 saying,
  2 H6680 Command H1121 the children H3478 of Israel, H5414 that they give H3881 unto the Levites H5159 of the inheritance H272 of their possession H5892 cities H3427 to dwell in; H4054 and suburbs H5892 for the cities H5439 round about H5414 them shall ye give H3881 unto the Levites.
  3 H5892 And the cities H3427 shall they have to dwell in; H4054 and their suburbs H929 shall be for their cattle, H7399 and for their substance, H2416 and for all their beasts.
  4 H4054 And the suburbs H5892 of the cities, H5414 which ye shall give H3881 unto the Levites, H7023 shall be from the wall H5892 of the city H2351 and outward H505 a thousand H520 cubits H5439 round about.
  5 H4058 And ye shall measure H2351 without H5892 the city H6924 for the east H6285 side H505 two thousand H520 cubits, H5045 and for the south H6285 side H505 two thousand H520 cubits, H3220 and for the west H6285 side H505 two thousand H520 cubits, H6828 and for the north H6285 side H505 two thousand H520 cubits, H5892 the city H8432 being in the midst. H4054 This shall be to them the suburbs H5892 of the cities.
  6 H5892 And the cities H5414 which ye shall give H3881 unto the Levites, H8337 they shall be the six H5892 cities H4733 of refuge, H5414 which ye shall give H7523 for the manslayer H5127 to flee H5414 unto: and besides them ye shall give H705 forty H8147 and two H5892 cities.
  7 H5892 All the cities H5414 which ye shall give H3881 to the Levites H705 shall be forty H8083 and eight H5892 cities; H4054 them shall ye give with their suburbs.
  8 H5892 And concerning the cities H5414 which ye shall give H272 of the possession H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H7227 from the many H7227 ye shall take many; H4592 and from the few H4592 ye shall take few: H376 every one H6310 according H5159 to his inheritance H5157 which he inheriteth H5414 shall give H5892 of his cities H3881 unto the Levites.
  9 H3068 And Jehovah H1696 spake H4872 unto Moses, H559 saying,
  10 H1696 Speak H1121 unto the children H3478 of Israel, H559 and say H5674 unto them, When ye pass over H3383 the Jordan H776 into the land H3667 of Canaan,
  11 H7136 then ye shall appoint H5892 you cities H5892 to be cities H4733 of refuge H7523 for you, that the manslayer H5221 that killeth H5315 any person H7684 unwittingly H5127 may flee thither.
  12 H5892 And the cities H4733 shall be unto you for refuge H1350 from the avenger, H7523 that the manslayer H4191 die H5975 not, until he stand H6440 before H5712 the congregation H4941 for judgment.
  13 H5892 And the cities H5414 which ye shall give H8337 shall be for you six H5892 cities H4733 of refuge.
  14 H5414 Ye shall give H7969 three H5892 cities H5676 beyond H3383 the Jordan, H7969 and three H5892 cities H5414 shall ye give H776 in the land H3667 of Canaan; H5892 they shall be cities H4733 of refuge.
  15 H1121 For the children H3478 of Israel, H1616 and for the stranger H1616 and for the sojourner H8432 among H8337 them, shall these six H5892 cities H4733 be for refuge; H5221 that every one that killeth H5315 any person H7684 unwittingly H5127 may flee thither.
  16 H5221 But if he smote H3627 him with an instrument H1270 of iron, H4191 so that he died, H7523 he is a murderer: H7523 the murderer H4191 shall surely H4191 be put to death.
  17 H5221 And if he smote H68 him with a stone H3027 in the hand, H4191 whereby a man may die, H4191 and he died, H7523 he is a murderer: H7523 the murderer H4191 shall surely H4191 be put to death.
  18 H5221 Or if he smote H3627 him with a weapon H6086 of wood H3027 in the hand, H4191 whereby a man may die, H4191 and he died, H7523 he is a murderer: H7523 the murderer H4191 shall surely H4191 be put to death.
  19 H1818 The avenger of blood H7523 shall himself put the murderer H4191 to death: H1931 when he H6293 meeteth H1931 him, he H4191 shall put him to death.
  20 H1920 And if he thrust H8135 him of hatred, H7993 or hurled H6660 at him, lying in wait, H4191 so that he died,
  21 H342 or in enmity H5221 smote H3027 him with his hand, H4191 so that he died; H5221 he that smote H4191 him shall surely H4191 be put to death; H7523 he is a murderer: H1350 the avenger H1818 of blood H7523 shall put the murderer H4191 to death, H6293 when he meeteth him.
  22 H1920 But if he thrust H6621 him suddenly H3808 without H342 enmity, H7993 or hurled H3627 upon him anything H6660 without lying in wait,
  23 H68 or with any stone, H4191 whereby a man may die, H7200 seeing H3808 him not, H5307 and cast H4191 it upon him, so that he died, H341 and he was not his enemy, H1245 neither sought H7451 his harm;
  24 H5712 then the congregation H8199 shall judge H5221 between the smiter H1350 and the avenger H1818 of blood H4941 according to these ordinances;
  25 H5712 and the congregation H5337 shall deliver H7523 the manslayer H3027 out of the hand H1350 of the avenger H1818 of blood, H5712 and the congregation H7725 shall restore H5892 him to his city H4733 of refuge, H5127 whither he was fled: H3427 and he shall dwell H4194 therein until the death H1419 of the high H3548 priest, H4886 who was anointed H6944 with the holy H8081 oil.
  26 H7523 But if the manslayer H3318 shall at any time H3318 go H1366 beyond the border H5892 of his city H4733 of refuge, H5127 whither he fleeth,
  27 H1350 and the avenger H1818 of blood H4672 find H2351 him without H1366 the border H5892 of his city H4733 of refuge, H1350 and the avenger H1818 of blood H7523 slay H7523 the manslayer; H1818 he shall not be guilty of blood,
  28 H3427 because he should have remained H5892 in his city H4733 of refuge H4194 until the death H1419 of the high H3548 priest: H310 but after H4194 the death H1419 of the high H3548 priest H7523 the manslayer H7725 shall return H776 into the land H272 of his possession.
  29 H2708 And these things shall be for a statute H4941 and ordinance H1755 unto you throughout your generations H4186 in all your dwellings.
  30 H5221 Whoso killeth H5315 any person, H7523 the murderer H7523 shall be slain H6310 at the mouth H5707 of witnesses: H259 but one H5707 witness H6030 shall not testify H5315 against any person H4191 that he die.
  31 H3947 Moreover ye shall take H3724 no ransom H5315 for the life H7523 of a murderer, H7563 that is guilty H4191 of death; H4191 but he shall surely H4191 be put to death.
  32 H3947 And ye shall take H3724 no ransom H5127 for him that is fled H5892 to his city H4733 of refuge, H7725 that he may come again H3427 to dwell H776 in the land, H4194 until the death H3548 of the priest.
  33 H2610 So ye shall not pollute H776 the land H1818 wherein ye are: for blood, H2610 it polluteth H776 the land; H3722 and no expiation H776 can be made for the land H1818 for the blood H8210 that is shed H1818 therein, but by the blood H8210 of him that shed it.
  34 H2930 And thou shalt not defile H776 the land H3427 which ye inhabit, H8432 in the midst of which H7931 I dwell: H3068 for I, Jehovah, H7931 dwell H8432 in H1121 the midst of the children H3478 of Israel.
