Jeremiah 37

  1 G2532 And G936 [⁴reigned G* ¹Zedekiah G5207 ²son G* ³of Josiah] G473 instead of G* Coniah G5207 the son G* of Jehoiakim, G3739 whom G936 [⁴gave reign G* ¹Nebuchadnezzar G935 ²king G* ³of Babylon] G936 to reign G1722 in G1093 the land G* of Judah.

  2 G2532 And G3756 [²hearkened not G191   G1473 ¹he], G2532 and G3588   G3816 his servants, G1473   G2532 and G3588 the G2992 people G3588 of the G1093 land, G3588 of the G3056 words G2962 of the lord G3739 which G2980 he spoke G1722 by G5495 the hand G* of Jeremiah.

  3 G2532 And G649 [³sent G3588   G935 ¹king G* ²Zedekiah] G3588   G* Jehucal G5207 son G* of Shelemiah, G2532 and G3588   G* Zephaniah G5207 son G* of Maaseiah G3588 the G2409 priest G4314 to G* Jeremiah, G3004 saying, G4336 Pray G4012 concerning G1473 us G4314 to G2962 the lord G3588   G2316 our God! G1473  

  4 G2532 And G* Jeremiah G2064 came G2532 and G1330 went G1223 through G3319 the middle G3588 of the G4172 city, G2532 and G3756 they did not G1325 put G1473 him G1519 into G5438 prison.

  5 G2532 And G1411 the force G* of Pharaoh G1831 came forth G1537 from out of G* Egypt. G2532 And G191 [³heard G3588 ¹the G* ²Chaldeans] G3588 the G189 report G1473 of them, G2532 and G305 they ascended G1909 unto G* Jerusalem.

  6 G2532 And G1096 came to pass G3056 the word G2962 of the lord G4314 to G* Jeremiah, G3004 saying,

  7 G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G3588 the G2316 God G* of Israel; G3779 Thus G2046 shall you say G4314 to G3588 the G935 king G* of Judah, G3588 the one G649 sending G4314 to G1473 you G3588   G1567 to inquire of G1473 me; G2400 Behold, G1411 the force G* of Pharaoh G3588   G1831 coming forth G1473 to you G1519 for G996 help, G654 they shall return G1519 into G1093 the land G* of Egypt.

  8 G2532 and G390 [⁴shall return G1473 ³themselves G3588 ¹the G* ²Chaldeans], G2532 and G4170 they shall wage war G1909 against G3588   G4172 this city, G3778   G2532 and G4815 shall seize G1473 it, G2532 and G2545 shall burn G1473 it G1722 with G4442 fire.

  9 G3754 For G3779 thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G3361 You should not G5274 undertake the thought G3588 in G5590 your souls, G1473   G3004 saying, G665.1 [⁶running G565 ³shall depart G575 ⁴from G1473 ⁵us G3588 ¹The G* ²Chaldeans]. G3754 For G3766.2 in no way G565 shall they depart.

  10 G2532 And G1437 if G3960 you should strike G3956 all G3588 the G1411 force G3588 of the G* Chaldeans, G3588 the ones G4170 waging war against G1473 you, G2532 and G2641 there should be left behind G5100 a certain amount G1574 having been stabbed, G1538 each G1722 in G3588   G5117 his place, G1473   G3778 these G450 shall rise up G2532 and G2545 shall burn G3588   G4172 this city G3778   G1722 by G4442 fire.

  11 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G3753 when G305 [⁵ascended G3588 ¹the G1411 ²force G3588 ³of the G* ⁴Chaldeans] G575 from G* Jerusalem G575 from G4383 in front G3588 of the G1411 force G* of Pharaoh,

  12 G1831 Jeremiah came forth G*   G575 from G* Jerusalem G4198 to go G1519 into G1093 the land G* of Benjamin G3588   G59 to buy G1564 from there G1722 land in G3319 the midst G3588 of the G2992 people.

  13 G2532 And G1096 he was G1473 himself G1722 in G4439 the gate G* of Benjamin. G2532 And G1563 there was there G444 a man G3844 by G3739 whom G2647 he rested up, G* Irijah, G5207 son G* of Shelemiah, G5207 son G* of Hananiah. G2532 And G4815 he seized G3588   G* Jeremiah, G3004 saying, G4314 [³to G3588 ⁴the G* ⁵Chaldeans G1473 ¹You are G5343 ²fleeing].

  14 G2532 And G2036 he said, G5579 It is a lie, G3780 [² am not G4314 ⁴unto G3588 ⁵the G* ⁶Chaldeans G1473 ¹I G5343 ³fleeing]. G2532 But G3756 he did not G1522 listen to G1473 him. G2532 And G4815 Irijah seized G*   G3588   G* Jeremiah, G2532 and G1521 brought G1473 him G4314 to G3588 the G758 rulers.

  15 G2532 And G4087 [³were embittered G3588 ¹the G758 ²rulers] G1909 over G* Jeremiah, G2532 and G3960 they struck G1473 him, G2532 and G649 they sent G1473 him G1519 into G3588 the G3614 house G5438 of the prison G* of Jonathan G3588 the G1122 scribe. G3754 For G3778 this G4160 they made G1519 into G3614 a house G5438 of a prison.

  16 G2532 And G2064 Jeremiah came G*   G1519 into G3588 the G3614 house G3588 of the G2978.1 pit, G2532 and G1519 into G3588 the G4787.4 confinement, G2532 and G2523 he stayed G1563 there G2250 [²days G4183 ¹many].

  17 G2532 And G649 Zedekiah sent G*   G2532 and G2564 called G1473 him. G2532 And G2065 [³asked G1473 ⁴him G3588 ¹the G935 ²king] G2930.2 secretly, G2532 and G2036 said G1473 to him, G1487 Is there G1510.2.3   G3588   G3056 a word G3844 from G2962 the lord ? G2532 And G2036 he said, G1510.2.3 It is G1519 into G5495 the hands G935 of the king G* of Babylon G3860 you shall be delivered up.

  18 G2532 And G2036 Jeremiah said G*   G3588 to the G935 king, G5100 How did G91 I wrong you, G1473   G2532 and G3588   G3816 your servants, G1473   G2532 and G3588   G2992 this people, G3778   G3754 that G1473 you G1325 put G1473 me G1519 into G3614 [²house G5438 ¹a prison]?

  19 G2532 And G4226 where G1510.2.6 are G3588   G4396 your prophets, G1473   G3588 the ones G4395 prophesying G1473 to you, G3004 saying G3754 that, G3766.2 In no way G2064 shall [³come G935 ¹ the king G* ²of Babylon] G1909 unto G3588   G1093 this land? G3778  

  20 G2532 And G3568 now G191 hear G1211 indeed G2962 O lord, G935 O king! G4098 Let [²fall G3588   G1656 ¹mercy] G1473 for me G2596 in front of G4383   G1473 you! G2532 And G3766.2 in no way G654 should you return G1473 me G1519 unto G3614 the house G* of Jonathan G3588 the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G3766.2 in no way G599 should I die G1563 there.

  21 G2532 And G4929 [³ordered G3588 ¹the G935 ²king], G2532 and G1685 they put him G1473   G1519 in G3614 the house G3588 of the G5438 guard, G2532 and G1325 they gave G1473 to him G740 [²bread loaf G1520 ¹one] G3588   G2250 a day G1855 from outside G3739 of which G4070.1 they baked, G2193 until G1587 [³failed G3588 ¹the G740 ²bread loaves] G1537 from G3588 the G4172 city. G2532 And G2523 Jeremiah stayed G*   G1722 in G3588 the G833 courtyard G3588 of the G5438 guard.
