  6 H8010 And Solomon H559 [H8799] said, H6213 [H8804] Thou hast shown H5650 to thy servant H1732 David H1 my father H1419 great H2617 mercy, H1980 [H8804] according as he walked H6440 at the face of H571 thee in truth, H6666 and in righteousness, H3483 and in uprightness H3824 of heart H8104 [H8799] with thee; and thou hast kept H1419 for him this great H2617 mercy, H5414 [H8799] that thou hast given H1121 him a son H3427 [H8802] to sit H3678 on his throne, H3117 as it is this day.
  7 H3068 And now, O LORD H430 my God, H5650 thou hast made thy servant H4427 [H8689] king H1732 instead of David H1 my father: H6996 and I am but a little H5288 child: H3045 [H8799] I know H3318 [H8800] not how to go out H935 [H8800] or come in.

Wycliffe(i) 6 And Salomon seide, Thou hast do greet merci with thi seruaunt Dauid, my fadir, as he yede in thi siyt, in treuthe, and riytfulnesse, and riytful herte with thee; thou hast kepte to hym thi greet merci, and hast youun to hym a sone, sittynge on his trone, as it is to dai. 7 And now, Lord God, thou hast maad thi seruaunt to regne for Dauid, my fadir; forsothe Y am a litil child, and not knowynge myn outgoynge and entryng. 8 And thi seruaunt is in the myddis of the puple, which thou hast chose, of puple with outen noumbre, that may not be noumbrid and rikened, for multitude. 9 Therfor thou schalt yyue to thi seruaunt an herte able to be tauyt, `that is, liytned of thee, that he may deme the puple, and iuge bitwixe good and yuel; for who may deme this puple, thi puple, this miche puple? 10 Therfor the world pleside bifore the Lord, that Salomon hadde axid sich a thing. 11 And the Lord seide to Salomon, For thou axidist this word, and axidist not to thee many daies, nether richessis, nether the lyues of thin enemyes, but thou axidist to thee wisdom to deme doom, lo!
Coverdale(i) 6 Salomo saide: Thou hast done greate mercy vnto my father Dauid thy seruaunt. Like as he walked before the in faithfulnes and righteousnes, and in a true hert with the, & this greate mercy hast thou layed vp for him, and geuen him a sonne to syt vpon his seate, as it is now come to passe. 7 Now LORDE my God, thou hast made thy seruaunt kynge in my father Dauids steade: As for me, I am but a small yonge man, knowynge nether my outgoynge ner ingoynge. 8 And thy seruaunt is amonge the people whom thou hast chosen: which is so greate, that no man can nombre them ner descrybe them for multitude. 9 Geue thy seruaunt therfore an obedient hert, that he maye iudge thy people, & vnderstonde what is good & bad: for who is able to iudge this thy mightie people? 10 This pleased the LORDE well, that Salomon axed soch a peticion. 11 And God sayde vnto him: For so moch as thou axest this, and desyrest not longe lyfe, nether riches, nether ye soules of thine enemies, but vnderstodinge to heare iudgment,
MSTC(i) 6 And Solomon said, "Thou hast showed unto thy servant David, my father, great mercy; according as he walked before thee in truth and in righteousness and plainness of heart with thee. And thou hast kept for him this great mercy, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his seat: as it is come to pass this day. 7 And now LORD, my God, it is thou that hast made thy servant king instead of David my father. And I am a young lad and know not how to order myself. 8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a people that are so many that they can not be told nor numbered for multitude. 9 Give therefore unto thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, and to discern between good, and bad. For who is able to judge this, thy so weighty a people?" 10 And it pleased the LORD well, that Solomon had desired this thing. 11 Wherefore God said unto him, "Because thou hast asked this thing and hast not asked long life, neither hast asked riches, nor the lives of thine enemies, but hast asked the discretion to understand equity:
Matthew(i) 6 And Salomon sayde: thou hast shewed vnto thy seruaunt Dauid my father great mercye accordinge as he walked before the in truthe & in ryghteousnesse & playnesse of herte wyth the. And I am a little child; I do not know to go out or come in! 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a numerous people who cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. 9 And give to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people, to discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge this, Your great people? 10 And the word was good in the eyes of Jehovah, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 And God said to him, Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, and have not asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to judge justly,

DSV(i) 6 En Salomo zeide: Gij hebt aan Uw knecht David, mijn vader, grote weldadigheid gedaan, gelijk als hij voor Uw aangezicht gewandeld heeft, in waarheid, en in gerechtigheid, en in oprechtheid des harten met U; en Gij hebt hem deze grote weldadigheid gehouden, dat Gij hem gegeven hebt een zoon, zittende op zijn troon, als te dezen dage. 7 Nu dan, HEERE, mijn God! Gij hebt Uw knecht koning gemaakt in de plaats van mijn vader David; en ik ben een klein jongeling, ik weet niet uit te gaan noch in te gaan. 8 En Uw knecht is in het midden van Uw volk, dat Gij verkoren hebt, een groot volk, hetwelk niet kan geteld noch gerekend worden, vanwege de menigte. 9 Geef dan Uw knecht een verstandig hart, om Uw volk te richten, verstandelijk onderscheidende tussen goed en kwaad; want wie zou dit Uw zwaar volk kunnen richten? 10 Die zaak nu was goed in de ogen des HEEREN, dat Salomo deze zaak begeerd had. 11 En God zeide tot hem: Daarom dat gij deze zaak begeerd hebt, en niet begeerd hebt, voor u vele dagen, noch voor u begeerd hebt rijkdom, noch begeerd hebt de ziel uwer vijanden; maar hebt begeerd verstand voor u, om gerichtszaken te horen;

  11 H430 En God H559 H8799 zeide H413 tot H3282 hem: Daarom H834 dat H2088 gij deze H1697 zaak H7592 H8804 begeerd hebt H3808 , en niet H7592 H8804 begeerd hebt H7227 , voor u vele H3117 dagen H3808 , noch H7592 H8804 voor u begeerd hebt H6239 rijkdom H3808 , noch H7592 H8804 begeerd hebt H5315 de ziel H341 H8802 uwer vijanden H7592 H8804 ; maar hebt begeerd H995 H8687 verstand H4941 voor u, om gerichtszaken H8085 H8800 te horen;
Martin(i) 6 Et Salomon répondit : Tu as usé d'une grande gratuité envers ton serviteur David mon père, selon qu'il a marché devant toi en vérité, en justice, et en droiture de coeur envers toi, et tu lui as gardé cette grande gratuité de lui avoir donné un fils qui est assis sur son trône, comme il paraît aujourd'hui. 7 Or maintenant, ô Eternel mon Dieu! tu as fait régner ton serviteur en la place de David mon père, et je ne suis qu'un jeune homme, qui ne sait point comment il faut se conduire. 8 Et ton serviteur est parmi ton peuple, que tu as choisi, et qui est un grand peuple qui ne se peut compter ni nombrer, tant il est en grand nombre. 9 Donne donc à ton serviteur un coeur intelligent pour juger ton peuple, et pour discerner entre le bien et le mal; car qui pourrait juger ton peuple, qui est d'une si grande conséquence ? 10 Et ce discours plut à l'Eternel, en ce que Salomon lui avait fait une telle demande. 11 Et Dieu lui dit : Parce que tu m'as fait cette demande, et que tu n'as point demandé une longue vie, et que tu n'as point demandé des richesses, et que tu n'as point demandé la mort de tes ennemis, mais que tu as demandé de l'intelligence pour rendre la justice;

11 Zato mu Jahve reče: "Jer si to tražio, a nisi iskao ni duga života, ni bogatstva, ni smrti svojih neprijatelja, nego pronicavost u prosuđivanju pravice,
BKR(i) 6 I řekl Šalomoun: Ty jsi učinil s služebníkem svým Davidem, otcem mým, milosrdenství veliké, když chodil před tebou v pravdě a v spravedlnosti, a v upřímnosti srdce stál při tobě.

7 Kaj nun, ho Eternulo, mia Dio, Vi regxigis Vian servanton anstataux mia patro David; sed mi estas malgranda junulo; mi ne scias, kiel eliri kaj eniri. 8 Kaj Via servanto estas meze de Via popolo, kiun Vi elektis, popolo granda, kiu ne povas esti nombrata nek kalkulata pro sia multeco. 9 Donu do al Via servanto koron, kiu povoscius regi Vian popolon, distingi inter bono kaj malbono; cxar kiu povas regi tiun Vian potencan popolon?
Finnish(i) 6 Salomo sanoi: sinä olet tehnyt minun isälleni Davidille sinun palvelialles suuren laupiuden, niinkuin hän vaelsi sinun edessäs totuudessa ja vanhurskaudessa, ja vakaalla sydämellä sinun kanssas: ja sinä olet pitänyt hänelle suuren laupiuden, ja olet antanut hänelle pojan, joka istuu hänen istuimellansa, niinkuin tänäpänä tapahtuu. 7 Ja nyt, Herra minun Jumalani, sinä olet tehnyt palvelias kuninkaaksi isäni Davidin siaan; ja minä olen nuorukainen ja en tiedä käydä ulos taikka sisälle; 8 Ja sinun palvelias on sinun kansas keskellä, jonka sinä olet valinnut, suuren kansan, jota ei kenkään lukea taikka kirjoittaa taida, paljouden tähden. 9 Anna sentähden palvelialles ymmärtäväinen sydän tuomita kansaas ja erottaa pahaa ja hyvää; sillä kuka taitaa tätä sinun suurta kansaas tuomita? 10 Ja tämä puhe kelpasi Herralle, että Salomo tätä anoi. 11 Ja Herra sanoi hänelle: ettäs tätä anoit, ja et anonut sinulles pitkää ikää, etkä anonut sinulles rikkautta, ja et anonut vihamiestes sieluja, vaan anoit sinulles tietoa ymmärtää oikeutta;

Italian(i) 6 E Salomone disse: Tu hai usata gran benignità inverso Davide, mio padre, tuo servitore, siccome egli è camminato davanti a te in lealtà, ed in giustizia, e in dirittura di cuore verso te; e tu gli hai ancora riserbata questa gran benignità, che tu gli hai dato un figliuolo che siede sopra il suo trono, come oggi appare. 7 Ora dunque, Signore Iddio mio, tu hai costituito re me, tuo servitore, in luogo di Davide, mio padre; ed io sono un piccol fanciullo, e non so nè uscire nè entrare. 8 E il tuo servitore è in mezzo del tuo popolo che tu hai eletto, ch’è un popolo grande, il quale, per la moltitudine, non si può contare, nè annoverare. 9 Da’ dunque al tuo servitore un cuore intendente, per giudicare il tuo popolo, per discernere tra il bene ed il male; perciocchè, chi potrebbe giudicare questo tuo popolo ch’è in così gran numero? 10 E questo piacque al Signore, che Salomone avesse chiesta una tal cosa. 11 E Iddio gli disse: Perciocchè tu hai chiesta questa cosa, e non hai chiesta lunga vita, nè ricchezze, nè la vita de’ tuoi nemici; anzi hai chiesto di avere intelletto per essere intendente a giudicare; ecco, io fo secondo la tua parola;
