H5329 To the chief Musician [H8764]   H7799 upon Shoshannim H1732 , A Psalm of David H3467 . Save [H8685]   H430 me, O God H4325 ; for the waters H935 are come [H8804]   H5315 in unto my soul.
H2883 I sink [H8804]   H4688 in deep H3121 mire H4613 , where there is no standing H935 : I am come [H8804]   H4615 into deep H4325 waters H7641 , where the floods H7857 overflow [H8804]   me.
H3021 I am weary [H8804]   H7121 of my crying [H8800]   H1627 : my throat H2787 is dried [H8738]   H5869 : mine eyes H3615 fail [H8804]   H3176 while I wait [H8764]   H430 for my God.
H8130 They that hate [H8802]   H2600 me without a cause H7231 are more [H8804]   H8185 than the hairs H7218 of mine head H6789 : they that would destroy [H8688]   H341 me, being mine enemies [H8802]   H8267 wrongfully H6105 , are mighty [H8804]   H7725 : then I restored [H8686]   H1497 that which I took not away [H8804]  .
H430 O God H3045 , thou knowest [H8804]   H200 my foolishness H819 ; and my sins H3582 are not hid [H8738]   from thee.
H6960 Let not them that wait [H8802]   H136 on thee, O Lord H3069 GOD H6635 of hosts H954 , be ashamed [H8799]   H1245 for my sake: let not those that seek [H8764]   H3637 thee be confounded [H8735]   H430 for my sake, O God H3478 of Israel.
H5375 Because for thy sake I have borne [H8804]   H2781 reproach H3639 ; shame H3680 hath covered [H8765]   H6440 my face.
H2114 I am become a stranger [H8716]   H251 unto my brethren H5237 , and an alien H517 unto my mother's H1121 children.
H7068 For the zeal H1004 of thine house H398 hath eaten me up [H8804]   H2781 ; and the reproaches H2778 of them that reproached [H8802]   H5307 thee are fallen [H8804]   upon me.
H1058 When I wept [H8799]   H5315 , and chastened my soul H6685 with fasting H2781 , that was to my reproach.
H5414 I made [H8799]   H8242 sackcloth H3830 also my garment H4912 ; and I became a proverb to them.
H3427 They that sit in [H8802]   H8179 the gate H7878 speak [H8799]   H5058 against me; and I was the song H8354 of the drunkards [H8802]   H7941  .
H8605 But as for me, my prayer H3068 is unto thee, O LORD H7522 , in an acceptable H6256 time H430 : O God H7230 , in the multitude H2617 of thy mercy H6030 hear [H8798]   H571 me, in the truth H3468 of thy salvation.
H5337 Deliver [H8685]   H2916 me out of the mire H2883 , and let me not sink [H8799]   H5337 : let me be delivered [H8735]   H8130 from them that hate [H8802]   H4615 me, and out of the deep H4325 waters.
H4325 Let not the waterflood H7641   H7857 overflow [H8799]   H4688 me, neither let the deep H1104 swallow me up [H8799]   H875 , and let not the pit H332 shut [H8799]   H6310 her mouth upon me.
H6030 Hear [H8798]   H3068 me, O LORD H2617 ; for thy lovingkindness H2896 is good H6437 : turn [H8798]   H7230 unto me according to the multitude H7356 of thy tender mercies.
H5641 And hide [H8686]   H6440 not thy face H5650 from thy servant H6887 ; for I am in trouble [H8804]   H6030 : hear [H8798]   H4118 me speedily.
H7126 Draw nigh [H8798]   H5315 unto my soul H1350 , and redeem [H8798]   H6299 it: deliver [H8798]   H341 me because of mine enemies [H8802]  .
H3045 Thou hast known [H8804]   H2781 my reproach H1322 , and my shame H3639 , and my dishonour H6887 : mine adversaries [H8802]   are all before thee.
H2781 Reproach H7665 hath broken [H8804]   H3820 my heart H5136 ; and I am full of heaviness [H8799]   H6960 : and I looked [H8762]   H5110 for some to take pity [H8800]   H5162 , but there was none; and for comforters [H8764]   H4672 , but I found [H8804]   none.
H5414 They gave [H8799]   H7219 me also gall H1267 for my meat H6772 ; and in my thirst H2558 they gave me vinegar H8248 to drink [H8686]  .
H7979 Let their table H6341 become a snare H6440 before H7965 them: and that which should have been for their welfare H4170 , let it become a trap.
H5869 Let their eyes H2821 be darkened [H8799]   H7200 , that they see [H8800]   H4975 not; and make their loins H8548 continually H4571 to shake [H8685]  .
H8210 Pour out [H8798]   H2195 thine indignation H2740 upon them, and let thy wrathful H639 anger H5381 take hold [H8686]   of them.
H2918 Let their habitation H8074 be desolate [H8737]   H3427 ; and let none dwell [H8802]   H168 in their tents.
H7291 For they persecute [H8804]   H5221 him whom thou hast smitten [H8689]   H5608 ; and they talk [H8762]   H4341 to the grief H2491 of those whom thou hast wounded.
H5414 Add [H8798]   H5771 iniquity H5771 unto their iniquity H935 : and let them not come [H8799]   H6666 into thy righteousness.
H4229 Let them be blotted [H8735]   H5612 out of the book H2416 of the living H3789 , and not be written [H8735]   H6662 with the righteous.
H6041 But I am poor H3510 and sorrowful [H8802]   H3444 : let thy salvation H430 , O God H7682 , set me up on high [H8762]  .
H1984 I will praise [H8762]   H8034 the name H430 of God H7892 with a song H1431 , and will magnify [H8762]   H8426 him with thanksgiving.
H3190 This also shall please H3068 the LORD H3190 better [H8799]   H7794 than an ox H6499 or bullock H7160 that hath horns [H8688]   H6536 and hoofs [H8688]  .
H6035 The humble H7200 shall see [H8804]   H8055 this, and be glad [H8799]   H3824 : and your heart H2421 shall live [H8799]   H1875 that seek [H8802]   H430 God.
H3068 For the LORD H8085 heareth [H8802]   H34 the poor H959 , and despiseth [H8804]   H615 not his prisoners.
H8064 Let the heaven H776 and earth H1984 praise [H8762]   H3220 him, the seas H7430 , and every thing that moveth [H8802]   therein.
H430 For God H3467 will save [H8686]   H6726 Zion H1129 , and will build [H8799]   H5892 the cities H3063 of Judah H3427 : that they may dwell [H8804]   H3423 there, and have it in possession [H8804]  .
H2233 The seed H5650 also of his servants H5157 shall inherit [H8799]   H157 it: and they that love [H8802]   H8034 his name H7931 shall dwell [H8799]   therein.
ERV(i) 1 For the Chief Musician; set to Shoshannim. [A Psalm] of David. Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary with my crying; my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. 4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away. 5 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. 6 Let not them that wait on thee be ashamed through me, O Lord GOD of hosts: let not those that seek thee be brought to dishonour through me, O God of Israel. 7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. 8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children. 9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me. 10 When I wept, [and chastened] my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. 11 When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a proverb unto them. 12 They that sit in the gate talk of me; and [I am] the song of the drunkards. 13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy, answer me in the truth of thy salvation. 14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. 15 Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. 16 Answer me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: according to the multitude of thy tender mercies turn thou unto me. 17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in distress; answer me speedily. 18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: ransom me because of mine enemies. 19 Thou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee. 20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. 21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. 22 Let their table before them become a snare; and when they are in peace, [let it become] a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let the fierceness of thine anger overtake them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate; let none dwell in their tents. 26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they tell of the sorrow of those whom thou hast wounded, 27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous. 29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. 30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 31 And it shall please the LORD better than an ox, [or] a bullock that hath horns and hoofs. 32 The meek have seen it, and are glad: ye that seek after God, let your heart live. 33 For the LORD heareth the needy, and despiseth not his prisoners. 34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein. 35 For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah; and they shall abide there, and have it in possession. 36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it; and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
