6 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל to H52 אבישׁי Abishai, H6258 עתה Now H3415 ירע do us more harm H7652 לנו שׁבע shall Sheba H1121 בן the son H1075 בכרי of Bichri H4480 מן than H53 אבשׁלום Absalom: H859 אתה thou H3947 קח take H853 את H5650 עבדי servants, H113 אדניך thy lord's H7291 ורדף and pursue H310 אחריו after H6435 פן him, lest H4672 מצא he get H5892 לו ערים cities, H1219 בצרות him fenced H5337 והציל and escape H5869 עיננו׃ and escape

7 H3318 ויצאו And there went out H310 אחריו after H376 אנשׁי men, H3097 יואב him Joab's H3774 והכרתי and the Cherethites, H6432 והפלתי and the Pelethites, H3605 וכל and all H1368 הגברים the mighty men: H3318 ויצאו and they went out H3389 מירושׁלם H7291 לרדף to pursue H310 אחרי after H7652 שׁבע Sheba H1121 בן the son H1075 בכרי׃ of Bichri.

8 H1992 הם When they H5973 עם at H68 האבן stone H1419 הגדולה the great H834 אשׁר which H1391 בגבעון in Gibeon, H6021 ועמשׂא Amasa H935 בא went H6440 לפניהם before H3097 ויואב them. And Joab's H2296 חגור was girded H4055 מדו garment H3830 לבשׁו that he had put on H5921 ועלו unto H2290 חגור H2719 חרב a sword H6775 מצמדת fastened H5921 על him, and upon H4975 מתניו his loins H8593 בתערה in the sheath H1931 והוא thereof; and as he H3318 יצא went forth H5307 ותפל׃ it fell out.

9 H559 ויאמר said H3097 יואב And Joab H6021 לעמשׂא to Amasa, H7965 השׁלום in health, H859 אתה thou H251 אחי my brother? H270 ותחז took H3027 יד hand H3225 ימין with the right H3097 יואב And Joab H2206 בזקן by the beard H6021 עמשׂא Amasa H5401 לנשׁק׃ to kiss

10 H6021 ועמשׂא But Amasa H3808 לא took no H8104 נשׁמר heed H2719 בחרב to the sword H834 אשׁר that H3027 ביד hand: H3097 יואב in Joab's H5221 ויכהו so he smote H413 בה אל him therewith in H2570 החמשׁ the fifth H8210 וישׁפך and shed out H4578 מעיו his bowels H776 ארצה to the ground, H3808 ולא him not H8138 שׁנה and struck H4191 לו וימת again; and he died. H3097 ויואב So Joab H52 ואבישׁי and Abishai H251 אחיו his brother H7291 רדף pursued H310 אחרי after H7652 שׁבע Sheba H1121 בן the son H1075 בכרי׃ of Bichri.

11 H376 ואישׁ And one H5976 עמד H5921 עליו by H5288 מנערי H3097 יואב Joab, H559 ויאמר him, and said, H4310 מי He H834 אשׁר that H2654 חפץ favoreth H3097 ביואב Joab. H4310 ומי and he H834 אשׁר that H1732 לדוד for David, H310 אחרי after H3097 יואב׃

12 H6021 ועמשׂא And Amasa H1556 מתגלל wallowed H1818 בדם in blood H8432 בתוך in the midst H4546 המסלה of the highway. H7200 וירא saw H376 האישׁ And when the man H3588 כי that H5975 עמד stood still, H3605 כל all H5971 העם the people H5437 ויסב he removed H853 את H6021 עמשׂא Amasa H4480 מן out of H4546 המסלה the highway H7704 השׂדה into the field, H7993 וישׁלך and cast H5921 עליו upon H899 בגד a cloth H834 כאשׁר him, when H7200 ראה he saw H3605 כל that every H935 הבא one that came H5921 עליו by H5975 ועמד׃ him stood still.
