2 Chronicles 34:1-35

  1 H2977 Josiah H8083 was eight H8141 years H1121 old H4427 when he began to reign, H4427 and he reigned H3389 in Jerusalem H259 one H7970 and thirty H8141 years.
  2 H6213 And he did H3477 that which was right H5869 in the sight H3068 of the Lord, H3212 and walked H1870 in the ways H1732 of David H1 his father, H5493 and declined H3225 neither to the right hand, H8040 nor to the left.
  3 H8083 For in the eighth H8141 year H4427 of his reign, H5288 while he was yet young, H2490 he began H1875 to seek H430 after the God H1732 of David H1 his father: H8147 and in the twelfth H8141 year H2490 he began H2891 to purge H3063 Judah H3389 and Jerusalem H1116 from the high places, H842 and the groves, H6456 and the carved images, H4541 and the molten images.
  4 H5422 And they broke down H4196 the altars H1168 of Baalim H6440 in his presence; H2553 and the images, H4605 that were on high above them, H1438 he cut down; H842 and the groves, H6456 and the carved images, H4541 and the molten images, H7665 he broke in pieces, H1854 and made dust H2236 of them, and strewed H6440 it upon H6913 the graves H2076 of them that had sacrificed unto them.
  5 H8313 And he burnt H6106 the bones H3548 of the priests H4196 upon their altars, H2891 and cleansed H3063 Judah H3389 and Jerusalem.
  6 H5892 And so did he in the cities H4519 of Manasseh, H669 and Ephraim, H8095 and Simeon, H5321 even unto Naphtali, H2719 with their mattocks H5439 round about.
  7 H5422 And when he had broken down H4196 the altars H842 and the groves, H3807 and had beaten H6456 the engraved images H1854 into powder, H1438 and cut down H2553 all the idols H776 throughout all the land H3478 of Israel, H7725 he returned H3389 to Jerusalem.
  8 H8083 Now in the eighteenth H8141 year H4427 of his reign, H2891 when he had purged H776 the land, H1004 and the house, H7971 he sent H8227 Shaphan H1121 the son H683 of Azaliah, H4641 and Maaseiah H8269 the governor H5892 of the city, H3098 and Joah H1121 the son H3099 of Joahaz H2142 the recorder, H2388 to repair H1004 the house H3068 of the Lord H430 his God.
  9 H935 And when they came H2518 to Hilkiah H1419 the high H3548 priest, H5414 they delivered H3701 the money H935 that was brought H1004 into the house H430 of God, H3881 which the Levites H8104 that kept H5592 the doors H622 had gathered H3027 of the hand H4519 of Manasseh H669 and Ephraim, H7611 and of all the remnant H3478 of Israel, H3063 and of all Judah H1144 and Benjamin; H7725 and they returned H3389 to Jerusalem.
  10 H5414 And they put H3027 it in the hand H6213 of the workmen H6485 that had the oversight H1004 of the house H3068 of the Lord, H5414 and they gave H6213 it to the workmen H6213 that worked H1004 in the house H3068 of the Lord, H918 to repair H2388 and mend H1004 the house:
  11 H2796 Even to the artificers H1129 and builders H5414 gave H7069 they it, to buy H4274 cut H68 stone, H6086 and timber H4226 for couplings, H7136 and to floor H1004 the houses H4428 which the kings H3063 of Judah H7843 had destroyed.
  12 H582 And the men H6213 did H4399 the work H530 faithfully: H5329 and the overseers H3189 of them were Jahath H5662 and Obadiah, H3881 the Levites, H1121 of the sons H4847 of Merari; H2148 and Zechariah H4918 and Meshullam, H6956 of the sons of the Kohathites, H6485 to set it forward; H3881 and other of the Levites, H995 all that could skill H3627 of instruments H7892 of music.
  13 H5449 Also they were over the bearers of burdens, H5329 and were overseers H6213 of all that worked H4399 the work H5656 in any manner of service: H3881 and of the Levites H5608 there were scribes, H7860 and officers, H7778 and porters.
  14 H3318 And when they brought out H3701 the money H935 that was brought into H1004 the house H3068 of the Lord, H2518 Hilkiah H3548 the priest H4672 found H5612 a book H8451 of the law H3068 of the Lord H3027 given by H4872 Moses.
  15 H2518 And Hilkiah H6030 answered H559 and said H8227 to Shaphan H5608 the scribe, H4672 I have found H5612 the book H8451 of the law H1004 in the house H3068 of the Lord. H2518 And Hilkiah H5414 delivered H5612 the book H8227 to Shaphan.
  16 H8227 And Shaphan H935 carried H5612 the book H4428 to the king, H7725 and brought H4428 the king H1697 word H7725 back H559 again, saying, H5414 All that was committed H3027 to H5650 your servants, H6213 they do it.
  17 H5413 And they have gathered together H3701 the money H4672 that was found H1004 in the house H3068 of the Lord, H5414 and have delivered H3027 it into the hand H6485 of the overseers, H3027 and to the hand H6213 of the workmen.
  18 H8227 Then Shaphan H5608 the scribe H5046 told H4428 the king, H559 saying, H2518 Hilkiah H3548 the priest H5414 has given H5612 me a book. H8227 And Shaphan H7121 read H6440 it before H4428 the king.
  19 H4428 And it came to pass, when the king H8085 had heard H1697 the words H8451 of the law, H7167 that he tore H899 his clothes.
  20 H4428 And the king H6680 commanded H2518 Hilkiah, H296 and Ahikam H1121 the son H8227 of Shaphan, H5658 and Abdon H1121 the son H4318 of Micah, H8227 and Shaphan H5608 the scribe, H6222 and Asaiah H5650 a servant H4428 of the king's, H559 saying,
  21 H3212 Go, H1875 inquire H3068 of the Lord H7604 for me, and for them that are left H3478 in Israel H3063 and in Judah, H1697 concerning the words H5612 of the book H4672 that is found: H1419 for great H2534 is the wrath H3068 of the Lord H5413 that is poured out H1 upon us, because our fathers H8104 have not kept H1697 the word H3068 of the Lord, H6213 to do H3789 after all that is written H5612 in this book.
  22 H2518 And Hilkiah, H4428 and they that the king H3212 had appointed, went H2468 to Huldah H5031 the prophetess, H802 the wife H7967 of Shallum H1121 the son H8616 of Tikvath, H1121 the son H2641 of Hasrah, H8104 keeper H899 of the wardrobe; H3427 (now she lived H3389 in Jerusalem H4932 in the college:) H1696 and they spoke to her to that effect.
  23 H559 And she answered H559 them, Thus says H3068 the Lord H430 God H3478 of Israel, H559 Tell H376 you the man H7971 that sent you to me,
  24 H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord, H935 Behold, I will bring H7451 evil H4725 upon this place, H3427 and upon the inhabitants H423 there, even all the curses H3789 that are written H5612 in the book H7121 which they have read H6440 before H4428 the king H3063 of Judah:
  25 H5800 Because they have forsaken H6999 me, and have burned incense H312 unto other H430 gods, H3707 that they might provoke me to anger H4639 with all the works H3027 of their hands; H2534 therefore my wrath H5413 shall be poured out H4725 upon this place, H3518 and shall not be quenched.
  26 H413 And as for H4428 the king H3063 of Judah, H7971 who sent H1875 you to inquire H3068 of the Lord, H559 so shall you say H559 unto him, Thus says H3068 the Lord H430 God H3478 of Israel H1697 concerning the words H8085 which you have heard;
  27 H3824 Because your heart H7401 was tender, H3665 and you did humble H6440 yourself before H430 God, H8085 when you heard H1697 his words H4725 against this place, H3427 and against the inhabitants H3665 there, and humbled H6440 yourself before H7167 me, and did tear H899 your clothes, H1058 and weep H6440 before H8085 me; I have even heard H5002 you also, says H3068 the Lord.
  28 H622 Behold, I will gather H1 you to your fathers, H622 and you shall be gathered H6913 to your grave H7965 in peace, H5869 neither shall your eyes H7200 see H7451 all the evil H935 that I will bring H4725 upon this place, H3427 and upon the inhabitants H7725 of the same. So they brought H4428 the king H1697 word H7725 again.
  29 H4428 Then the king H7971 sent H622 and gathered together H2205 all the elders H3063 of Judah H3389 and Jerusalem.
  30 H4428 And the king H5927 went up H1004 into the house H3068 of the Lord, H376 and all the men H3063 of Judah, H3427 and the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem, H3548 and the priests, H3881 and the Levites, H5971 and all the people, H1419 great H6996 and small: H7121 and he read H241 in their ears H1697 all the words H5612 of the book H1285 of the covenant H4672 that was found H1004 in the house H3068 of the Lord.
  31 H4428 And the king H5975 stood H5977 in his place, H3772 and made H1285 a covenant H6440 before H3068 the Lord, H3212 to walk H310 after H3068 the Lord, H8104 and to keep H4687 his commandments, H5715 and his testimonies, H2706 and his statutes, H3824 with all his heart, H5315 and with all his soul, H6213 to perform H1697 the words H1285 of the covenant H3789 which are written H5612 in this book.
  32 H4672 And he caused all that were present H3389 in Jerusalem H1144 and Benjamin H5975 to stand H3427 to it. And the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem H6213 did H1285 according to the covenant H430 of God, H430 the God H1 of their fathers.
  33 H2977 And Josiah H5493 took away H8441 all the abominations H776 out of all the countries H1121 that pertained to the sons H3478 of Israel, H4672 and made all that were present H3478 in Israel H5647 to serve, H5647 even to serve H3068 the Lord H430 their God. H3117 And all his days H5493 they departed H310 not from following H3068 the Lord, H430 the God H1 of their fathers.
