Isaiah 3 For, behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;

1 H113 For, behold, the Lord, H3068 Jehovah H6635 of hosts, H5493 doth take away H3389 from Jerusalem H3063 and from Judah H4937 stay H4938 and staff, H4937 the whole stay H3899 of bread, H3605 and the whole H4937 stay H4325 of water;

2 H1368 the mighty man, H376 and the man H4421 of war; H8199 the judge, H5030 and the prophet, H7080 and the diviner, H2205 and the elder;

3 H8269 the captain H2572 of fifty, H5375 and the honorable H6440 man, H3289 and the counsellor, H2450 and the expert H2791 artificer, H2450 and the skilful H3908 enchanter.

4 H5414 And I will give H5288 children H8269 to be their princes, H8586 and babes H4910 shall rule over them.

5 H5971 And the people H5065 shall be oppressed, H376 every one H376 by another, H376 and every one H7453 by his neighbor: H5288 the child H7292 shall behave himself proudly H2205 against the old H7034 man, and the base H3513 against the honorable.

6 H376 When a man H8610 shall take hold H251 of his brother H1004 in the house H1 of his father, H8071 saying, Thou hast clothing, H7101 be thou our ruler, H4384 and let this ruin H3027 be under thy hand;

7 H3117 in that day H5375 shall he lift up H559 his voice, saying, H2280 I will not be a healer; H1004 for in my house H3899 is neither bread H8071 nor clothing: H7760 ye shall not make H7101 me ruler H5971 of the people.

8 H3389 For Jerusalem H3782 is ruined, H3063 and Judah H5307 is fallen; H3956 because their tongue H4611 and their doings H3068 are against Jehovah, H4784 to provoke H5869 the eyes H3519 of his glory.

9 H1971 The show H6440 of their countenance H6030 doth witness against them; H5046 and they declare H2403 their sin H5467 as Sodom, H3582 they hide H188 it not. Woe H5315 unto their soul! H1580 for they have done H7451 evil unto themselves.

10 H559 Say H6662 ye of the righteous, H2896 that it shall be well H398 with him; for they shall eat H6529 the fruit H4611 of their doings.

11 H188 Woe H7563 unto the wicked! H7451 it shall be ill H3027 with him; for what his hands H1576 have done H6213 shall be done unto him.

12 H5971 As for my people, H5953 children H5065 are their oppressors, H802 and women H4910 rule H5971 over them. O my people, H833 they that lead H8582 thee cause thee to err, H1104 and destroy H1870 the way H734 of thy paths.

13 H3068 Jehovah H5324 standeth up H7378 to contend, H5975 and standeth H1777 to judge H5971 the peoples.

14 H3068 Jehovah H935 will enter H4941 into judgment H2205 with the elders H5971 of his people, H8269 and the princes H1197 thereof: It is ye that have eaten up H3754 the vineyard; H1500 the spoil H6041 of the poor H1004 is in your houses:

15 H1792 what mean ye that ye crush H5971 my people, H1792 H2912 and grind H6440 the face H6041 of the poor? H5002 saith H136 the Lord, H136 Jehovah H6635 of hosts.

16 H3068 Moreover Jehovah H559 said, H3282 Because H1323 the daughters H6726 of Zion H1361 are haughty, H3212 and walk H5186 with outstretched H1627 necks H8265 and wanton H5869 eyes, H3212 walking H2952 and mincing H3212 as they go, H5913 and making a tinkling H7272 with their feet;

17 H136 therefore the Lord H5596 will smite with a scab H6936 the crown of the head H1323 of the daughters H6726 of Zion, H3068 and Jehovah H6168 will lay bare H6596 their secret parts.

18 H3117 In that day H136 the Lord H5493 will take away H8597 the beauty H5914 of their anklets, H7636 and the cauls, H7720 and the crescents;

19 H5188 the pendants, H8285 and the bracelets, H7479 and the mufflers;

20 H6287 the headtires, H6807 and the ankle H7196 chains, and the sashes, H5315 and the perfume-boxes, H3908 and the amulets;

21 H2885 the rings, H639 and the nose - H5141 jewels;

22 H4254 the festival robes, H4595 and the mantles, H4304 and the shawls, H2754 and the satchels;

23 H1549 the hand-mirrors, H5466 and the fine linen, H6797 and the turbans, H7289 and the veils.

24 H1314 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet spices H4716 there shall be rottenness; H2290 and instead of a girdle, H5364 a rope; H4639 and instead of well set H4748 hair, H7144 baldness; H6614 and instead of a robe, H4228 a girding H8242 of sackcloth; H3587 branding H3308 instead of beauty.

25 H4962 Thy men H5307 shall fall H2719 by the sword, H1369 and thy mighty H4421 in the war.

26 H6607 And her gates H578 shall lament H56 and mourn; H5352 and she shall be desolate H3427 and sit H776 upon the ground.
