2 H559 Then spoke H5838 Azariah H1121 the son H1955 of Hoshaiah, H3110 and Johanan H1121 the son H7143 of Kareah, H3605 and all H2086 the proud H582 men, H559 saying H3414 to Jeremiah, H1696 You speak H8267 falsely: H3068 the LORD H430 our God H7971 has not sent H559 you to say, H935 Go H4714 not into Egypt H1481 to sojourn H8033 there:

3 H1263 But Baruch H1121 the son H5374 of Neriah H5496 sets H5414 you on against us, for to deliver H3027 us into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H4191 that they might put us to death, H1540 and carry H1540 us away captives H894 into Babylon.

4 H3110 So Johanan H1121 the son H7143 of Kareah, H3605 and all H8269 the captains H2428 of the forces, H3605 and all H5971 the people, H8085 obeyed H6963 not the voice H3068 of the LORD, H3427 to dwell H776 in the land H3063 of Judah.

5 H3110 But Johanan H1121 the son H7143 of Kareah, H3605 and all H8269 the captains H2428 of the forces, H3947 took H3605 all H7611 the remnant H3063 of Judah, H7725 that were returned H3605 from all H1471 nations, H834 where H8033 H5080 they had been driven, H1481 to dwell H776 in the land H3063 of Judah;

6 H853 Even H1397 men, H802 and women, H2945 and children, H4428 and the king’s H1323 daughters, H3605 and every H5315 person H5018 that Nebuzaradan H7227 the captain H2876 of the guard H5117 had left H1436 with Gedaliah H1121 the son H296 of Ahikam H1121 the son H8227 of Shaphan, H3414 and Jeremiah H5030 the prophet, H1263 and Baruch H1121 the son H5374 of Neriah.

7 H935 So they came H776 into the land H4714 of Egypt: H8085 for they obeyed H6963 not the voice H3068 of the LORD: H935 thus came H8471 they even to Tahpanhes.

8 H1961 Then came H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD H3414 to Jeremiah H8471 in Tahpanhes, H559 saying,

9 H3947 Take H1419 great H68 stones H3027 in your hand, H2934 and hide H4423 them in the clay H4404 in the brick kiln, H834 which H6607 is at the entry H6547 of Pharaoh’s H1004 house H8471 in Tahpanhes, H5869 in the sight H582 of the men H3064 of Judah;

10 H559 And say H3541 to them, Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H2005 Behold, H7971 I will send H3947 and take H5019 Nebuchadrezzar H4428 the king H894 of Babylon, H5650 my servant, H7760 and will set H3678 his throne H428 on these H68 stones H2934 that I have hid; H5186 and he shall spread H8237 his royal H8237 pavilion H5921 over them.

11 H935 And when he comes, H5221 he shall smite H776 the land H4714 of Egypt, H4194 and deliver such as are for death H4194 to death; H7628 and such as are for captivity H7628 to captivity; H2719 and such as are for the sword H2719 to the sword.

12 H3341 And I will kindle H784 a fire H1004 in the houses H430 of the gods H4714 of Egypt; H8313 and he shall burn H7617 them, and carry H7617 them away captives: H5844 and he shall array H776 himself with the land H4714 of Egypt, H7462 as a shepherd H5844 puts H899 on his garment; H3318 and he shall go H3318 forth H8033 from there H7965 in peace.

13 H7665 He shall break H4676 also the images H1053 of Bethshemesh, H776 that is in the land H4714 of Egypt; H1004 and the houses H430 of the gods H4714 of the Egyptians H8313 shall he burn H784 with fire.
