Ezekiel 18

  1 H1697 The word H3068 of the LORD H1961 came H559 to me again, saying,
  2 H4100 What H4911 mean you, that you use H2088 this H4911 proverb H5921 concerning H127 the land H3478 of Israel, H559 saying, H1 The fathers H398 have eaten H1155 sour H1154 grapes, H1121 and the children’s H8127 teeth H6949 are set on edge?
  3 H2416 As I live, H5002 said H136 the Lord H3069 GOD, H5750 you shall not have occasion any more H4911 to use H2088 this H4911 proverb H3478 in Israel.
  4 H2005 Behold, H3605 all H5315 souls H5315 are mine; as the soul H1 of the father, H5315 so also the soul H1121 of the son H5315 is mine: the soul H2398 that sins, H4191 it shall die.
  5 H3588 But if H376 a man H6662 be just, H6213 and do H4941 that which is lawful H6666 and right,
  6 H398 And has not eaten H2022 on the mountains, H3808 neither H5375 has lifted H5869 up his eyes H1544 to the idols H1004 of the house H3478 of Israel, H3808 neither H2930 has defiled H7453 his neighbor’s H802 wife, H3808 neither H7126 has come H7126 near H5079 to a menstruous H802 woman,
  7 H3238 And has not oppressed H376 any, H7725 but has restored H2326 to the debtor H2258 his pledge, H1497 has spoiled H3808 none H1500 by violence, H5414 has given H3899 his bread H7456 to the hungry, H3680 and has covered H5903 the naked H899 with a garment;
  8 H5414 He that has not given H5392 forth on usury, H3808 neither H3947 has taken H8635 any increase, H7725 that has withdrawn H3027 his hand H5766 from iniquity, H6213 has executed H571 true H4941 judgment H996 between H376 man H376 and man,
  9 H1980 Has walked H2708 in my statutes, H8104 and has kept H4941 my judgments, H6213 to deal H571 truly; H6662 he is just, H2421 he shall surely live, H5002 said H136 the Lord H3069 GOD.
  10 H3205 If he beget H1121 a son H6530 that is a robber, H8210 a shedder H1818 of blood, H6213 and that does H251 the like H259 to any one H428 of these things,
  11 H6213 And that does H3605 not any H428 of those H1571 duties, but even H398 has eaten H2022 on the mountains, H2930 and defiled H7453 his neighbor’s H802 wife,
  12 H3238 Has oppressed H6041 the poor H34 and needy, H1497 has spoiled H1500 by violence, H7725 has not restored H2258 the pledge, H5375 and has lifted H5869 up his eyes H1544 to the idols, H6213 has committed H8441 abomination,
  13 H5414 Has given H5392 forth on usury, H3947 and has taken H8635 increase: H2425 shall he then live? H2421 he shall not live: H6213 he has done H3605 all H428 these H8441 abominations; H4191 he shall surely die; H1818 his blood shall be on him.
  14 H2009 Now, see, H3205 if he beget H1121 a son, H7200 that sees H3605 all H1 his father’s H2403 sins H834 which H6213 he has done, H7200 and considers, H6213 and does H2007 not such like,
  15 H398 That has not eaten H2022 on the mountains, H3808 neither H5375 has lifted H5869 up his eyes H1544 to the idols H1004 of the house H3478 of Israel, H2930 has not defiled H7453 his neighbor’s H802 wife,
  16 H3808 Neither H3238 has oppressed H376 any, H2254 has not withheld H2258 the pledge, H3808 neither H1500 has spoiled by violence, H5414 but has given H3899 his bread H7456 to the hungry, H3680 and has covered H5903 the naked H899 with a garment,
  17 H7725 That has taken H3027 off his hand H6041 from the poor, H3947 that has not received H5392 usury H8635 nor increase, H6213 has executed H4941 my judgments, H1980 has walked H2708 in my statutes; H4191 he shall not die H5771 for the iniquity H1 of his father, H2421 he shall surely live.
  18 H1 As for his father, H3588 because H6233 he cruelly H6231 oppressed, H1497 spoiled H251 his brother H1499 by violence, H6213 and did H834 that which H2896 is not good H8432 among H5971 his people, H2009 see, H4191 even he shall die H5771 in his iniquity.
  19 H559 Yet say H4069 you, Why? H1121 does not the son H5375 bear H5771 the iniquity H1 of the father? H1121 When the son H6213 has done H4941 that which is lawful H6666 and right, H8104 and has kept H3605 all H2708 my statutes, H6213 and has done H2421 them, he shall surely live.
  20 H5315 The soul H2398 that sins, H4191 it shall die. H1121 The son H5375 shall not bear H5771 the iniquity H1 of the father, H3808 neither H1 shall the father H5375 bear H5771 the iniquity H1121 of the son: H6666 the righteousness H6662 of the righteous H7564 shall be on him, and the wickedness H7563 of the wicked shall be on him.
  21 H3588 But if H7563 the wicked H7725 will turn H3605 from all H2403 his sins H6213 that he has committed, H8104 and keep H3605 all H2708 my statutes, H6213 and do H4941 that which is lawful H6666 and right, H2421 he shall surely live, H4191 he shall not die.
  22 H3605 All H6588 his transgressions H6213 that he has committed, H2142 they shall not be mentioned H6666 to him: in his righteousness H6213 that he has done H2421 he shall live.
  23 H2654 Have I any pleasure H7563 at all that the wicked H4194 should die? H5002 said H136 the Lord H3069 GOD: H7725 and not that he should return H1870 from his ways, H2421 and live?
  24 H6662 But when the righteous H6666 turns away from his righteousness, H6213 and commits H5766 iniquity, H6213 and does H3605 according to all H8441 the abominations H7563 that the wicked H6213 man does, H2425 shall he live? H3605 All H6666 his righteousness H6213 that he has done H2142 shall not be mentioned: H4604 in his trespass H4604 that he has trespassed, H2403 and in his sin H2398 that he has sinned, H4191 in them shall he die.
  25 H559 Yet you say, H1870 The way H136 of the LORD H8505 is not equal. H8085 Hear H4994 now, H1004 O house H3478 of Israel; H1870 Is not my way H8505 equal? H1870 are not your ways H3808 unequal?
  26 H6662 When a righteous H6666 man turns away from his righteousness, H6213 and commits H5766 iniquity, H4191 and dies H5766 in them; for his iniquity H6213 that he has done H4191 shall he die.
  27 H7563 Again, when the wicked H7564 man turns away from his wickedness H6213 that he has committed, H6213 and does H4941 that which is lawful H6666 and right, H2421 he shall save H5315 his soul H2421 alive.
  28 H7200 Because he considers, H3605 and turns away from all H6588 his transgressions H6213 that he has committed, H2421 he shall surely live, H4191 he shall not die.
  29 H559 Yet said H1004 the house H3478 of Israel, H1870 The way H136 of the LORD H8505 is not equal. H1004 O house H3478 of Israel, H1870 are not my ways H8505 equal? H1870 are not your ways H3808 unequal?
  30 H3651 Therefore H8199 I will judge H1004 you, O house H3478 of Israel, H376 every H376 one H1870 according to his ways, H5002 said H136 the Lord H3069 GOD. H7725 Repent, H7725 and turn H3605 yourselves from all H6588 your transgressions; H5771 so iniquity H4383 shall not be your ruin.
  31 H7993 Cast H3605 away from you all H6588 your transgressions, H834 whereby H6586 you have transgressed; H6213 and make H2319 you a new H3820 heart H2319 and a new H7307 spirit: H4100 for why H4191 will you die, H1004 O house H3478 of Israel?
  32 H3808 For I have no H2654 pleasure H4194 in the death H4191 of him that dies, H5002 said H136 the Lord H3069 GOD: H7725 why turn H2421 yourselves, and live you.
