Amos 1:1-15 דברי The words עמוס of Amos, אשׁר who היה was בנקדים among the herdsmen מתקוע אשׁר which חזה he saw על concerning ישׂראל Israel בימי in the days עזיה of Uzziah מלך king יהודה of Judah, ובימי and in the days ירבעם of Jeroboam בן the son יואשׁ of Joash מלך king ישׂראל of Israel, שׁנתים two years לפני before הרעשׁ׃ the earthquake.

2 H559 ויאמר And he said, H3068 יהוה The LORD H6726 מציון H7580 ישׁאג will roar H3389 ומירושׁלם H5414 יתן and utter H6963 קולו his voice H56 ואבלו shall mourn, H4999 נאות and the habitations H7462 הרעים of the shepherds H3001 ויבשׁ shall wither. H7218 ראשׁ and the top H3760 הכרמל׃ of Carmel

3 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H5921 על For H7969 שׁלשׁה three H6588 פשׁעי transgressions H1834 דמשׂק of Damascus, H5921 ועל and for H702 ארבעה four, H3808 לא I will not H7725 אשׁיבנו turn away H5921 על thereof; because H1758 דושׁם they have threshed H2742 בחרצות with threshing instruments H1270 הברזל of iron: H853 את H1568 הגלעד׃ Gilead

4 H7971 ושׁלחתי But I will send H784 אשׁ a fire H1004 בבית into the house H2371 חזאל of Hazael, H398 ואכלה which shall devour H759 ארמנות the palaces H1130 בן הדד׃ of Ben-hadad.

5 H7665 ושׁברתי I will break H1280 בריח also the bar H1834 דמשׂק of Damascus, H3772 והכרתי and cut off H3427 יושׁב the inhabitant H1237 מבקעת from the plain H206 און of Aven, H8551 ותומך and him that holdeth H7626 שׁבט the scepter H1004 מבית H5730 עדן H1540 וגלו shall go into captivity H5971 עם and the people H758 ארם of Syria H7024 קירה unto Kir, H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.

6 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H5921 על For H7969 שׁלשׁה three H6588 פשׁעי transgressions H5804 עזה of Gaza, H5921 ועל and for H702 ארבעה four, H3808 לא I will not H7725 אשׁיבנו turn away H5921 על thereof; because H1540 הגלותם they carried away captive H1546 גלות captivity, H8003 שׁלמה the whole H5462 להסגיר to deliver up H123 לאדום׃ to Edom:

7 H7971 ושׁלחתי But I will send H784 אשׁ a fire H2346 בחומת on the wall H5804 עזה of Gaza, H398 ואכלה which shall devour H759 ארמנתיה׃ the palaces

8 H3772 והכרתי And I will cut off H3427 יושׁב the inhabitant H795 מאשׁדוד H8551 ותומך and him that holdeth H7626 שׁבט the scepter H831 מאשׁקלון H7725 והשׁיבותי and I will turn H3027 ידי mine hand H5921 על against H6138 עקרון Ekron: H6 ואבדו shall perish, H7611 שׁארית and the remnant H6430 פלשׁתים of the Philistines H559 אמר saith H136 אדני the Lord H3069 יהוה׃ GOD.

9 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H5921 על For H7969 שׁלשׁה three H6588 פשׁעי transgressions H6865 צר of Tyrus, H5921 ועל and for H702 ארבעה four, H3808 לא I will not H7725 אשׁיבנו turn away H5921 על thereof; because H5462 הסגירם they delivered up H1546 גלות captivity H8003 שׁלמה the whole H123 לאדום to Edom, H3808 ולא not H2142 זכרו and remembered H1285 ברית covenant: H251 אחים׃ the brotherly

10 H7971 ושׁלחתי But I will send H784 אשׁ a fire H2346 בחומת on the wall H6865 צר of Tyrus, H398 ואכלה which shall devour H759 ארמנתיה׃ the palaces

11 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3069 יהוה H5921 על For H7969 שׁלשׁה three H6588 פשׁעי transgressions H123 אדום of Edom, H5921 ועל and for H702 ארבעה four, H3808 לא I will not H7725 אשׁיבנו turn away H5921 על thereof; because H7291 רדפו he did pursue H2719 בחרב with the sword, H251 אחיו his brother H7843 ושׁחת and did cast off H7356 רחמיו all pity, H2963 ויטרף did tear H5703 לעד perpetually, H639 אפו and his anger H5678 ועברתו his wrath H8104 שׁמרה and he kept H5331 נצח׃ forever:

12 H7971 ושׁלחתי But I will send H784 אשׁ a fire H8487 בתימן upon Teman, H398 ואכלה which shall devour H759 ארמנות the palaces H1224 בצרה׃ of Bozrah.

13 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H5921 על For H7969 שׁלשׁה three H6588 פשׁעי transgressions H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon, H5921 ועל and for H702 ארבעה four, H3808 לא I will not H7725 אשׁיבנו turn away H5921 על thereof; because H1234 בקעם they have ripped up H2030 הרות the women with child H1568 הגלעד of Gilead, H4616 למען that H7337 הרחיב they might enlarge H853 את H1366 גבולם׃ their border:

14 H3341 והצתי But I will kindle H784 אשׁ a fire H2346 בחומת in the wall H7237 רבה of Rabbah, H398 ואכלה and it shall devour H759 ארמנותיה the palaces H8643 בתרועה thereof, with shouting H3117 ביום in the day H4421 מלחמה of battle, H5591 בסער with a tempest H3117 ביום in the day H5492 סופה׃ of the whirlwind:

15 H1980 והלך shall go H4428 מלכם And their king H1473 בגולה into captivity, H1931 הוא he H8269 ושׂריו and his princes H3162 יחדו together, H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
