Amos 1:1-15 The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

1 H1697 The words H5986 of Amos, H834 who H5349 was among the herdsmen H8620 of Tekoa, H834 which H2372 he saw H5921 concerning H3478 Israel H3117 in the days H5818 of Uzziah H4428 king H3063 of Judah, H3117 and in the days H3379 of Jeroboam H1121 the son H3101 of Joash H4428 king H3478 of Israel, H8141 two years H6440 before H7494 the earthquake.

2 H559 And he said, H3068 The LORD H7580 will roar H6726 from Zion, H5414 and utter H6963 his voice H3389 from Jerusalem; H4999 and the habitations H7462 of the shepherds H56 shall mourn, H7218 and the top H3760 of Carmel H3001 shall wither.

3 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD; H7969 For three H6588 transgressions H1834 of Damascus, H702 and for four, H7725 I will not turn H5921 away the punishment thereof; because H1758 they have threshed H1568 Gilead H2742 with threshing H1270 instruments of iron:

4 H7971 But I will send H784 a fire H1004 into the house H2371 of Hazael, H398 which shall devour H759 the palaces H1130 of Benhadad.

5 H7665 I will break H1280 also the bar H1834 of Damascus, H3772 and cut H3427 off the inhabitant H1237 from the plain H206 of Aven, H8551 and him that holds H7626 the scepter H1004 from the house H5731 of Eden: H5971 and the people H758 of Syria H1540 shall go into captivity H7024 to Kir, H559 said H3068 the LORD.

6 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD; H7969 For three H6588 transgressions H5804 of Gaza, H702 and for four, H7725 I will not turn H5921 away the punishment thereof; because H1540 they carried H1540 away captive H8003 the whole H1546 captivity, H5462 to deliver H123 them up to Edom:

7 H7971 But I will send H784 a fire H2346 on the wall H5804 of Gaza, H398 which shall devour H759 the palaces thereof:

8 H3772 And I will cut H3427 off the inhabitant H795 from Ashdod, H8551 and him that holds H7626 the scepter H831 from Ashkelon, H7725 and I will turn H3027 my hand H5921 against H6138 Ekron: H7611 and the remnant H6430 of the Philistines H6 shall perish, H559 said H136 the Lord H3069 GOD.

9 H559 Thus said H3068 the LORD; H7969 For three H6588 transgressions H6865 of Tyrus, H702 and for four, H7725 I will not turn H5921 away the punishment thereof; because H5462 they delivered H8003 up the whole H1546 captivity H123 to Edom, H2142 and remembered H251 not the brotherly H1285 covenant:

12 H7971 But I will send H784 a fire H8487 on Teman, H398 which shall devour H759 the palaces H1224 of Bozrah.

13 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD; H7969 For three H6588 transgressions H1121 of the children H5983 of Ammon, H702 and for four, H7725 I will not turn H5921 away the punishment thereof; because H1234 they have ripped H2030 up the women with child H1568 of Gilead, H7337 that they might enlarge H1366 their border:

14 H3341 But I will kindle H784 a fire H2346 in the wall H7237 of Rabbah, H398 and it shall devour H759 the palaces H8643 thereof, with shouting H3117 in the day H4421 of battle, H5591 with a tempest H3117 in the day H5492 of the whirlwind:

15 H4428 And their king H1980 shall go H1473 into captivity, H8269 he and his princes H3162 together, H559 said H3068 the LORD.
