2 Chronicles 14:1-15 So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.

2 H609 And Asa H6213 did H2896 that which was good H3477 and right H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the LORD H430 his God:

3 H5493 For he took H5493 away H4196 the altars H5236 of the strange H1116 gods, and the high H7665 places, and broke H4676 down the images, H1438 and cut H842 down the groves:

4 H559 And commanded H3063 Judah H1875 to seek H3068 the LORD H430 God H1 of their fathers, H6213 and to do H8451 the law H4687 and the commandment.

5 H5493 Also he took H5493 away H3605 out of all H5892 the cities H3063 of Judah H1116 the high H4467 places and the images: and the kingdom H8252 was quiet H6440 before him.

6 H1129 And he built H4694 fenced H5892 cities H3063 in Judah: H776 for the land H8252 had rest, H369 and he had no H4421 war H428 in those H8141 years; H3588 because H3068 the LORD H5117 had given him rest.

7 H559 Therefore he said H3063 to Judah, H1129 Let us build H428 these H5892 cities, H5437 and make about H2346 them walls, H4026 and towers, H1817 gates, H1280 and bars, H776 while the land H5750 is yet H6440 before H3588 us; because H1875 we have sought H3068 the LORD H430 our God, H1875 we have sought H5117 him, and he has given us rest H5437 on every H5439 side. H1129 So they built H6743 and prospered.

8 H609 And Asa H1961 had H2428 an army H5375 of men that bore H6793 targets H7420 and spears, H3063 out of Judah H7969 three H3967 hundred H7239 thousand; H505 H1144 and out of Benjamin, H5375 that bore H4043 shields H1869 and drew H7198 bows, H3967 two hundred H8084 and fourscore H7239 thousand: H505 H3605 all H428 these H1368 were mighty H2428 men of valor.

9 H3318 And there came H413 out against H2226 them Zerah H3569 the Ethiopian H2428 with an host H505 of a thousand H505 thousand, H7969 and three H3967 hundred H4818 chariots; H935 and came H4762 to Mareshah.

10 H609 Then Asa H3318 went H6440 out against H4421 him, and they set the battle H6186 in array H1516 in the valley H6859 of Zephathah H4762 at Mareshah.

11 H609 And Asa H7121 cried H3068 to the LORD H430 his God, H559 and said, H3068 LORD, H369 it is nothing H5826 with you to help, H996 whether H7227 with many, H369 or with them that have no H3581 power: H5826 help H3068 us, O LORD H430 our God; H8172 for we rest H5921 on H8034 you, and in your name H935 we go H5921 against H2088 this H1995 multitude. H3068 O LORD, H430 you are our God; H582 let no man H6113 prevail H5973 against you.

12 H3068 So the LORD H5062 smote H3569 the Ethiopians H6440 before H609 Asa, H6440 and before H3063 Judah; H3569 and the Ethiopians H5127 fled.

13 H609 And Asa H5971 and the people H7291 that were with him pursued H1642 them to Gerar: H3569 and the Ethiopians H5307 were overthrown, H4241 that they could not recover H1992 themselves; H7665 for they were destroyed H6440 before H3068 the LORD, H6440 and before H4264 his host; H5375 and they carried H3966 away very H7235 much H7998 spoil.

14 H5221 And they smote H3605 all H5892 the cities H5439 round H1642 about Gerar; H6343 for the fear H3068 of the LORD H1961 came H962 on them: and they spoiled H3605 all H5892 the cities; H7235 for there was exceeding H7235 much H961 spoil in them.

15 H5221 They smote H1571 also H168 the tents H929 of cattle, H7617 and carried H7617 away H6629 sheep H1581 and camels H7230 in abundance, H7725 and returned H3389 to Jerusalem.
