Deuteronomy 19:2-13

  2 H914 Thou shalt separate [H8686]   H7969 three H5892 cities H8432 for thee in the midst H776 of thy land H3068 , which the LORD H430 thy God H5414 giveth [H8802]   H3423 thee to possess [H8800]   it.

  3 H3559 Thou shalt prepare [H8686]   H1870 thee a way H1366 , and divide the coasts H776 of thy land H3068 , which the LORD H430 thy God H5157 giveth thee to inherit [H8686]   H8027 , into three parts [H8765]   H7523 , that every slayer [H8802]   H5127 may flee [H8800]   thither.

  4 H1697 And this is the case H7523 of the slayer [H8802]   H5127 , which shall flee [H8799]   H2425 thither, that he may live [H8804]   H5221 : Whoso killeth [H8686]   H7453 his neighbour H1097 ignorantly H1847   H8130 , whom he hated [H8802]   H8543 not in time H8032 past;

  5 H935 As when a man goeth [H8799]   H3293 into the wood H7453 with his neighbour H2404 to hew [H8800]   H6086 wood H3027 , and his hand H5080 fetcheth a stroke [H8738]   H1631 with the axe H3772 to cut down [H8800]   H6086 the tree H1270 , and the head H5394 slippeth [H8804]   H6086 from the helve H4672 , and lighteth [H8804]   H7453 upon his neighbour H4191 , that he die [H8804]   H5127 ; he shall flee [H8799]   H259 unto one H5892 of those cities H2425 , and live [H8804]  :

  6 H1350 Lest the avenger [H8802]   H1818 of the blood [H8676]   H7291 pursue [H8799]   H310 the slayer H7523   [H8802]   H3588 , while H3824 his heart H3179 is hot [H8799]   H5381 , and overtake [H8689]   H1870 him, because the way H7235 is long [H8799]   H5221 , and slay [H8689]   H5315 him H4941 ; whereas he was not worthy H4194 of death H3588 , inasmuch as H8130 he hated [H8802]   H8543 him not in time H8032 past.

  7 H6680 Wherefore I command [H8764]   H559 thee, saying [H8800]   H914 , Thou shalt separate [H8686]   H7969 three H5892 cities for thee.

  8 H3068 And if the LORD H430 thy God H7337 enlarge [H8686]   H1366 thy coast H7650 , as he hath sworn [H8738]   H1 unto thy fathers H5414 , and give [H8804]   H776 thee all the land H1696 which he promised [H8765]   H5414 to give [H8800]   H1 unto thy fathers;

  9 H8104 If thou shalt keep [H8799]   H4687 all these commandments H6213 to do [H8800]   H6680 them, which I command [H8764]   H3117 thee this day H157 , to love [H8800]   H3068 the LORD H430 thy God H3212 , and to walk [H8800]   H3117 ever H1870 in his ways H3254 ; then shalt thou add [H8804]   H7969 three H5892 cities H7969 more for thee, beside these three:

  10 H5355 That innocent H1818 blood H8210 be not shed [H8735]   H7130 in H776 thy land H3068 , which the LORD H430 thy God H5414 giveth [H8802]   H5159 thee for an inheritance H1818 , and so blood be upon thee.

  11 H376 But if any man H8130 hate [H8802]   H7453 his neighbour H693 , and lie in wait [H8804]   H6965 for him, and rise up [H8804]   H5221 against him, and smite [H8689]   H5315 him mortally H4191 that he die [H8804]   H5127 , and fleeth [H8804]   H259 into one H411 of these H5892 cities:

  12 H2205 Then the elders H5892 of his city H7971 shall send [H8804]   H3947 and fetch [H8804]   H5414 him thence, and deliver [H8804]   H3027 him into the hand H1350 of the avenger [H8802]   H1818 of blood H4191 , that he may die [H8804]  .

  13 H5869 Thine eye H2347 shall not pity [H8799]   H1197 him, but thou shalt put away [H8765]   H5355 the guilt of innocent H1818 blood H3478 from Israel H2895 , that it may go well [H8804]   with thee.
